Hey Sis! 👋☺️ I will say I’ve been enjoying my twists since I converted them from my plaits. They are much quicker to moisturize and I have less scalp showing. I also keep them stretched at night by banding my hair with satin scrunches. I think I may keep them in the next 6 months. It’ll be interesting to see if I notice less or the same in length retention. My wash day is still in plaits though. 😅😂
@@A_Wilson Heya! Good shout about stretching your twists, because that shrinkage has a life of its own. It's great that you recognise wash day works best in plaits. We always have to do what's best for our hair.
I wore mini twists and mini braids before locking my hair. They definitely helped retain length and were so convenient! If I ever comb out my locs, I’ll be going back to that.
@@2013lovemy you're right! They really are convenient. Ah congrats on your locs journey. If there was an ultimate style to retain length, it's probably locs lol.
@@Natural2020_ Thank you! Yes, I’m loving the length retention. I just wish my hair was a little thicker. Overall, very happy with them though. Your vid made me miss my mini braid/twist days!
I have been wearing my hair in twists (with extensions) for the past 6 weeks, and I loved them. I was re-twisting and washing every 2 weeks. My hair is broken off in the back, which is why I used the extensions, but I can say that I have noticed some growth in that area. Going to try a new style today, just to save some time from reinstalling the twists.🙂
I totally agree I started twist this year and my hair had become thicker than ever plus longer. I usually braid three times then do twists. Do you just twist them or braid and also if you do just twist them how do you manage to keep them in for longer than a week?
@@qyoff748 Gooood point, I should have mentioned that in the vid. I do plait the root, that helps to keep them neat. Also the front ones and the back ones I do tend to redo just for neatness but I just leave the rest 😊 that's awesome news though about your hair growing and getting thicker. Yay!!
@@qayyaksmith3652 hey good question. I reapply flaxseed gel every time I remoisturise. So it ends up being about twice a week. But occasionally if it's not a good batch and it's not hardening around my hair for very long, I may go ahead and reapply it again. So usually twice a week but it could be up to three times if the gel isn't holding well.
@@mosey5878 I don't see why not. Very often, people moisturise their hair about a day before it gets dry. So if two days works for you then that's cool.
@@mosey5878 maybe something to be aware of is the build up of product you'll have on your hair if you don't wash it regularly. But keep learning your hair and do what you believe it best 😊
💖💖💖 Twists definitely grew my hair out fast too
@@naturallychilled3939 Hey!! That's so cool. And they can look really nice too 😊
Great tip on pulling your hair up one section at a time!
Yeah, it works so well for me!

Hey Natural2020. How often do you apply flaxseed gel to your ends? Thanks for sharing this video!

Hair is not a one size fits all....cornrows works better than twist for me...twist frizzes and loc up too quickly
I certainly agree. I don't do cornrows very often. Is your hair high porosity by any chance?
@@Natural2020_ my hair is medium to high porosity, I can wash my hair every two weeks in cornrows and keep it for six weeks which is perfect for me
@@faithagamah8598 ok that's so cool. It's so interesting how different hair porosities behave so differently. Thanks for sharing and commenting ☺️
Thanks ladies for an informative thread. 🤗💖
