Aw baby Rob before he went crazy
Yas :)
lol
you mean Rob before he stopped taking his meds 😂
Ash Humphrey
Alice McElligott lol
Rob absolutely lost his mind by 2015, holy shit!
I was thinking the same thing 😂😂😂
I actually like the hand-embroidered patch because it has a less polished look, so it's punk rock as fuck
Wow 2013 was a weird time in threadbanger world
try 2007
Its like the freshmen year of threadbanger
Wait hold up.. ROB ACTUALLY MADE REAL DIYS WITHOUT CURSING😱
OMG
and without cutting himself lmao
i wonder..when did he say fuck for the first time in his videos?
Anddd when it became successful
Maryam Asfari plot twist
Actually he cut himself but he edit and cut that part
This is it, I've finally pinpointed the exact video where the snark and sass started bubbling up and out of Rob. This is the ultimate turning point of Threadbanger. im living for it
when rob was PG
Ikr to
Remember the good old days when Rob didn't bleed during the DIY videos?
Good Times.
I just want to say thank you to threadbanger for showing me that this sort of stuff isn't as hard as it looks. I get weird looks and laughs in textiles work class at uni when i make seomthing awesome and i present it and say: "guys! it's not that hard! just try it!"
so thanks for giving me to courage to just do stuff (even if it looks really hard)!
yup, i scored that GS Jacket from a Florida Thrift Store...its covered in vintage 70's GS patches. One of my favorite finds. -rob
Why he's so calm😳
It's nice to see rob so calm :)
Yep now he is cursing all over the place.
If you are making the embroidered patches - use some Fray Stop or Stop Fray liquid from the fabric store on the edges you cut. If you happen to snip one of the threads they won't unravel and it helps the patch last much longer. Make sure you heat set any paints or pens that you use so that the colors will stay. Sharpie pens and all!
Wow, this looks way easier than I thought.
Good vid, man, thanks.
I am so gonna use this for my Mikasa cosplay!
Tip: if you make sure to use a fabric with a high synthetic percentage and a polyester thread, you can singe the edges a bit if you want a more finished look to the edges :)
i miss this calm and cool rob...RIP cool rob
If this video was in 2015 or 16, the embroidery patch would've been "GFY" not "TB" right?
or a middle finger
Ghost Dog exactly what I was gonna post
Totally added this video to my list of Cosplay Hints and How To's for my college Sci-Fy Fantasy Guild to have it as reference! Thanks for the hints ThreadBangers! I just picked up my new embroidery machine TODAY and I intend to try out a patch project asap as well! I have a whole jacket full of geeky patches just itching for a new addition!
This is a great video. I would recommend applying fray check around the edge of the patch before and after you cut it out. The fray check with seal the edge of the thread.
lol....i know...your awesome :)
Oml just watching this in 2017 😂😂 i cant
The ledgend 27 same except in 2018
2018
The ledgend 27 im watching in 2018 and i expected him ti make a middle finger. Im shook
2018
2019 ;)
Rob, cut the patch out first and then satin stitch around the edges after. Your edges will be much neater. It'll look nice and professional, especially if use two laters of fabric, to make sure it's nice and stiff. Fusable web in between those layers will help even more. You'll love the results. Thanks for the tute. (I just got an embroidery machine last night, so time to go try patches myself!)
he didn't stab himself with a needle? young Rob is.... careful?
Rob can sew!! Additionally Rob knows how to backtack! You win the internet sir!! FOREVER!
I like old videos like these but the new format is really awesome. Love you guys ❤️
Really, your embroidery perfectly fits the rugged characteristic of denim, so you're spot on in my opinion!
This is the first video that I seen from ThreadBanger. Glad I found this great channel.
I'm so happy the threadbanger I fell in love with is back in action! you guys rock
Awwww rob before crack
jk
Omg congrats 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🌈🌈🌈
Great video, I've only just begun to delve into the wonderful wide world of embroidery and looking at creating badges. Thanks heaps for posting.
well wouldnt you like to know :)
Remember when Rob used ":)" in comments instead of just "GFY"?
pretty cool! Even the drawn one is a cool way to make a quick patch - kids can make those and an old sibling or adult can show them how to use the sewing machine to embroider the edge! Very cool. Thanks for the idea!
I love this!! Used to embroider all the time but I didnt know what anymore so this is perfect :)
a new hobby i would like to try. thanks for the video. good job. for someone who embroiders this is ok for a starter.
i love hand sewing + embroidery but was looking for different ways to make patches (i like the visual difference on my jacket) so thank you very much!!! :))
Wow, that's really cool! I'm going to go to town on patches next!
Awesome project. THREADBANGER, TEACHING WHATCHU WANNA LEARN, alwayssss

Thank you so much for this video.
ooo I love embroidery I'll have to try this!!
Hey there,
Thanks it was good enough of an example. By this video I can figure out so many ideas.
Wow this is the first ever video I've seen of Rob pre 2016 (when I started watching them) and omg!! Where's the swearing and the bleeping and the outlandish behaviour omg he just sounds so polite and nice 😂😂😂
This video is perfect and you did a great job!
Wow! That's pretty cool and easy. Time consuming maybe but hey, it's something to do when you're waiting around at the dr's or something.
You did a good job!
had to look at it again...i could totally see that
This was actually pretty cool! You should do DIYs again...It seemed like you guys really loved making them.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS THREADBANGER
Loving these guy-friendly diy tuts. I can soooo make stuff for my bf now. :3

I love embroidering and sewing
Rob you did your best and that is ALL that matters I care bro! :)
This is really helpful, thanks a bunch!
I think it looks good!
So I would like to thank you guys for making this video. It inspired me to make my backpack for next year. I've bought a canvas messenger bag and I'm starting to cover it in handmade and handstiched patches of the world flags. I have most of Europe done now. I will be the only history nerd with my dorky backpack, but hell to them. I'll have a fucking awesome bag and they won't. So thanks!
Ah a blast from the past. I wish you guys made more videos like these. Don't get me wrong. The man vs Pin videos are nice! I enjoy them, but I also learned a lo about DIYing from you guys. I miss when you made clothes and Rob knew what he was doing,...
Love Corinne and Rob... awesomeness!
hey you did great with the embrodery ^^
Aww innocent baby Rob :')
Thanks man,this really helped!
Definitely using this on my Kazuichi cosplay. Thank you so much!
throwback to when threadbanger made diy videos involving threads
this was wow.. i love the new rob..
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm trying to do a Roadhog cosplay from Overwatch and this is going to help a lot for the patches. So thanks!
Love your jacket Rob! GS in the house lol
Excellent tips. Fyi your embroidery looks great to me. Has lots character a machine cant give.
This helped so much 😀
This helped a lot!
Awesome idea, I used the blue jean idea to make patches for a sheriff uniform in a short film!
Thanks for this~! We really appreciate it!
You don't suck at embroidery at all! Good ideas :)
You did a really good job at making those patches luv! You have inspired me! I can never find enough videos here on how to make those adorable little potion bottles (I know that there are a lot of them here, but I want to see more, more, MORE!!! (giggles)) to wear as pendants. I've made a few of my own, but I would like to see how you or Corinne (did I spell her name right? Hope so!) would make some. Thanks luv!
this could be pretty cool with the printable fabric as well, like the stuff in the face pillow video. you could get some pretty complex-ass patches with that!
After all the new thread banger watching this in 2019.
.......rob ... unbelievable
thanks ;) -rob
It's really nice
Awesome thanks!
So helpful and a great idea! Thanks :)
you did a good job Rob. ;D
I think you did well rob!
Love the GS patches ^.^
Awesome, thanks for this tut! :D
love the retro Girl Scouts patches on the shirt :)
Little tip, you can also paint some stencils on that canvas instead of hand drawing it. Takes some more time, but, finished project would look pretty rad. Thanks threadbanger!
I really like the Girl Scout patches on the one side of your shirt. :)
You could use them as stuffing for different things. Pet beds, bean bag chairs, pillows or stuffed animals that don't need to be too fluffy. They also have a tutorial from way back on how to make a dress form that I think was stuffed with shirt scraps. Good luck!
you're so helpful! thank you. :)
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you :) :) :) were going to have do much fun doing patches for craft time this summer. ooooooo lol
Awesome!
