Brilliant composer and performer! Howard Levy is seriously one of the best musicians in the world! Virtuosic skills on many different instruments and constantly leading new paths on the diatonic harmonica (Blues harp) for probably about 50 years by now. All through hard work and dedication.

This is just about the most bad-ass thing I’ve ever heard. Bravo.

I don't agree. It is not really bad, and it has nothing to do with anyone's ass.

OMG! What did I just witness here? How can so many different sounds come out of such a small instrument?

I lived in Evanston at Albany care in 2009 nd 2010. I play every musical instrument there is. I'm learning to love orchestra in my 40's. Great harmonica player. I'm glad he looks classical nd not someone from a rock band.

I have played harmonica 51 years, in Bluegrass, Country, Blues, had a Swing Dance and Jazz band 10 years, folk music, pop, etc. I am not one of the blessed types who can play multiple instruments. Howard Levy here is also a very accomplished Jazz Pianist.

I play harmonica and I was maked classes with mr Levy the master and of course I now how this oberblows are dificult but I dont think that the harmonica works for Classic music.

I am sorry to spoil the party, but I think it is horrible. Technically, very intricate and complicated but simply not pleasant to listen to. Too clever by half. It seems to be a case of the composer making it difficult to play just for the sake of making it difficult to play. I find it to be a cacophony. I couldn't play it, but I would also not want to. I wonder what some members of the orchestra would say about it if you could persuade them to be honest.

Or Rachmaninov? Or Paganini for that matter - This was a self titled piece, specifically written to showcase a unique (so far as I know) virtuoso ability. Ok, Beethoven it aint, but awesome it is.
