I’m pretty sure the FBI is already investigating. They were the ones who took possession of the text messages on Proctors phone and the DA knew about this.
Funny. I’ve worked for some administrators who were bullies, incompetent, CYA types. They were eventually let go. Often things hv a way of working themselves out.
I am a former police officer and I have been involved in homicide investigations. Never have I heard of an investigator speaking about a female suspect the way Proctor spoke about Karen Read. That would have caused them to lose their job. No one is saying much about Proctor sharing confidential information about a high profile on going investigation with outsiders, such as his high school buddies. To me, from an operational standpoint, that is just as serious as calling Read names. The evidence gathering, storage, and analysis in this case is comical. Leaf blowers, Solo cups, filled in pools, missing dogs, small pieces of plastic on the lawn spotted from a moving car, no security on the crime scene for 12 hours, any of which could have caused the case to be tossed after a supression hearing. Terrible investigation by unqualified investigators. Not to mention the "stuff" guy. He was embarrassing.
“stuff” guy versus the Crash Daddies… How on earth did this case make it to trial? Guess there must have been a lot of pressure from people trying to cover their asses, toward people in power who owed favours.
Are you serious? You don't think police say in private what Proctor said about Karen Read and worse about any person they arrest? You're either very naive or you're not a former police officer.
@@Resmith18SRit’s called discretion. If we don’t focus on the horrific nature of the texts, yes you are right that basically all humans talk shit. But an investigator should know not to put their grossness in writing. And, if they’re going to put in writing on their personal devices, then they should absolutely know not to legally open the door to their personal devices during a trial they are integrally involved with, which Proctor (or I guess someone he talked to) clearly had to in some way in order for the lawyers to have obtained access to it. It’s not about the fact that no one says these words. It’s about the fact that he was so stupid or arrogant that he brought the spotlight onto himself. He is literally trained on obtaining evidence for the expressed purpose of getting people into legal trouble. It can’t be argued that he wouldn’t know this stuff. Clearly he felt that the things he said would NEVER be seen, especially in an incriminating way, which is just straight up stupid or arrogant. No other explanation. This is like the difference between talking shit about someone to your best friend VS documenting your incriminating shit in writing at your workplace directly to your bosses. One of them is pretty normal human behavior and the other is just fucking stupid. He works with other cops who are also trained on this and have an interest in protecting themselves and their jobs. He was stupid as hell for putting himself in the position where other cops could use his words as a deflection for anything they’ve done. I wouldn’t be surprised if Buchenik threw him under the bus when the pressure was turned on. So it’s not that cops don’t say it, it’s that typically cops have enough street smarts to understand how this could be turned against them.
She wasn't charged with a DUI accept as part of the 3rd charge, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident, which was one of the ones the jury supposedly found her not guilty on. She didn't plead guilty on anything.
The only accident I’ve seen is her tapping John’s car on private property. Because it’s on private property it doesn’t have to be reported as an accident. My mom did something similar hitting a truck my dad had with his car on their own property. So clearly no accident report barely more than a scratch. So I don’t see how they can charge her with leaving the scene of an accident, unless their cover up works and the jury buys their own narrative of what happened. Which I don’t believe happened at all. And pathetic that Proctor is still receiving a government salary.
What is WILD to me is that MSP basically ADMITTED that they NEVER would have looked into Proctor's misconduct had the DEFENSE not ellicited the damning testimony from Proctor!!
@ninastanek3388 Lally would be silly to retry this case. Nothing should be done until the investigations into Proctor, Higgins, Albert, and those involved in KRs' investigation have been completed and disclosed.

The people of Massachusetts need to rebel against this ridiculous “suspension” of Michael Proctor. Taxpayer money pays his crazy high salary. There is no way this man should be getting paid on suspension. He needs to be decertified and never work as a LE officer again.
His union will demand they go thru the steps before they can him entirely. I’ll be shocked if it goes that far-he’ll be rehomed with a promotion and better pay at another department.
Yep. It's called "The Law of the Lid" - meaning, the people below the leader act like the leader or worse than the leader. But a good, honest leader would never have guys like Proctor working for him.
I was on a jury once. It's amazing how, if you do things right and don't discuss the case until deliberations, you can be completely surprised by how other jurors see the case. I ate lunch with and talk to one juror all the time. We could have been best friends in the making. Then we went to deliberations. And found out we were polar opposites on how we thought of the case and the evidence. Our jury did come to a conclusion and decided on an award (civil case) in the end, and deliberations weren't really contentious, but it was really eye-opening to me.
$184,000/year?!? I have a Master’s Degree and 34 years of teaching experience. Retired at $72,000/year. Our country is messed up! Altho I appreciate all law enforcement and believe their lives are often endangered. However, public schools are not the safest either.
Yes, police officer pay is public and every officer I've personally looked up (barring 1st and 2nd year rookies) have made $115k/year or more... sometimes much more. As a teacher, you should correct people when they say "teachers and police officers" are underpaid. Teachers are woefully underpaid. Police officers are not, especially considering the minimal education and incredibly low bar to become one.
PREACH 🙌🙌🙌 At least if I'm bad at my job, it doesn't ruin anyone's life or put anyone in danger. It's very concerning that the MSP hiring & firing standards are so low.
so glad you said this. my thoughts exactly. the fact this women-hating piece of garbage makes 180k+, makes me sick. I'm passionate about my career and I could never be the level of incompetent that Proctor is as a law enforcement officer, even if I tried. it's completely disgusting that someone like that can thrive in a career that is supposed to be held to a higher standard. it terrifies me that him and his buddies were given weapons and authority.
The judge ordered their cellphone's and the day before Albert stated in court, basical oh well I decided to get a new one for my birthday, and the judge did nothing. She is also corrupt obviously, everyone should be under investigation.
What about his bosses who were responding to his inappropriate texts without telling him to knock it off? They care just as bad as him, maybe worse because they did not supervise him at the time.
These days the media doesn't seem to ask the pertinent questions on anything serious anymore! They also base their reporting on their own opinions. I miss the days of honest hard hitting reporting, in other words honest journalism! 😭
The MSP needs a total rehab and rehaul. I say this as a native. I’m sick and tired of the bs between state police labs being fraudulently mishandled a couple years ago, and obvious corruption.
Is anyone really surprised, seriously? This is further proof that these law enforcement agencies involved want and reward officers that are willing to engage in illegal behavior to support their preconceived notions of guilt and innocence on the very citizens they are supposed to be protecting. They have completely demonstrated ,at the highest level to street level officers ,a propensity to enact frame-ups to support their cultish conviction culture and integral bias against certain populations in our society. Right now they're just in CYA mode and hope the public forgets. Proctor is a pathetic villain and so is anyone that gives him aid and comfort. Peter's comparison to pedophiles priests is spot-on. Free Karen✊
He’s a trooper, its higher than a normal cop. Im fine with this salary for someone investing crimes BUT this trooper don’t deserve a penny of this money. He’s disgusting
By charging $10 for MacDonald's, $4 for gas........most people think they are underpaid and need more training. I say they are exactly what is sought and bought. I don't have it is any accident that government agents act and think the way they do. No rebuke from the superiors. No immediate action taken. Proctor isnt "one of the bad apples". Proctor is just a slightly worse version of the general average. This department doesn't seem much different than so many others across the country. In fact, this seems to be a miniaturized version of what we see at the federal level. Proctor is just one festering pimple symptomizing a deeper disease. Lack of individual accountability and equal protection under the law, seem to be the things that when missing, result in situations like this coverup. What is clear and obvious is what isn't being discussed. We can be quite certain that John O'Keefe wasn't killed in the manner the state presented. The investigation was bungled, botched and "hyper-focusd" on proving an already reached conclusion. The evidence was irreparably tainted and impeached. The outcome of this prosecution, regardless of the verdict, is that no New suspect can reasonably be tried. Whoever committed the crime will never be prosecuted because the entire investigation / prosecution, was never intended to get a conviction. The entire coverup was done by mudding the waters , discrediting the evidence, showing the negligence and incompetence to hide the intentional nature. It is quite likely, at least some of the individuals involved in this coverup, actually believe(d) in Karen Read's guilt. The ends justify the means when motivation directs reason. Imagine trying to argue a conviction against Brian Higgins for killing John O'Keefe. The defense would simply point to this case as evidence of reasonable doubt. Who are we going to charge next week when this next prosecution fails? Brian Albert? The plow truck driver? The actual goal was accomplished and the chances of anyone breaking now depends on how the feds proceed. If they proceed. Time to move on according to the plan. Just thoughts.
Proctor wasn't fired. They sent him downstream. He was never reprimanded by an immediate superior. The problems in that department are clearly systemic and disgusting. The massachusetts police commissioner coming out and speaking of this today is a joke. That area has had multiple complaints.
I completely agree 👏👏 coming out after the dog pisses on the rug doesn’t do an anything for the ppl to trust them. If proctor aka “ ballon knot “ was involved in case myself or family was involved with in the past I’d be raising hell to get into what he did with it
So MSP were quite happy to sit on their internal investigation and possibly see an innocent woman go to prison BEFORE looking to see if their own troopers planted evidence and let the possible murders go free? Not buying it, they left the trial to run to see if they could get away with it, they are as bad as Proctor! Should have acted immediately and told the DA that their evidence was unsafe.
I agree 💯 %. MSP is a really corrupt dept. I grew up in LE. Shananigans… yes, but not at this level. I moved to Mass a year ago. Folks are extremely afraid of MSP. Read is everyone of us. Look out, cops have TOO much power!
Absolutely my thoughts too and I wonder if Karen was found guilty would they have done anything to Proctor ? This whole situation is a joke , if they cared so much they would’ve started investigating a long time ago. They’re just playing defense now
I heard the jury was hung up on "lesser charges" which means the jury instructions were so bad that they did not realize that since they acquitted her on murder ten they didn't have to go any further. Is that right if this was the case. What a messed up case. I feel like Judge Bev did everything she could to hurt the defense.
The only way they would get to the lesser charges is if they acquitted her on murder 2. I also haven’t seen anything on the split from any reputable sources. Do you know if another juror spoke out? I’m so curious about the split
Anyone who would vote guilty on any of those charges do not understand the meaning of reasonable doubt. When reputable experts testify the defense’s theory was inconsistent with the injuries, there is reasonable doubt. The only way a juror could vote guilty after that would be the juror had a bias which caused a “personal belief” she was guilty or did not sufficiently comprehend the evidence presented at trial and/the jury instructions.
If the Commonwealth rep tries this case, they need to get rid of that biased judge because she did not help the defence in anyway she was all for the prosecution and that’s not right. She’s supposed to be not biased. She needs to be removed from the case for sure.
She was obvious that the judge was annoyed with Karen Read and her antics in Court. Karen's lawyers need to muzzle her. This was a trial not a Reality show for Karen Read. She talked way too much to the media and appeared to love all the media attention and perhaps Judge Cannone felt Karen was making a mockery of the trial?? That courtroom belonged to the Judge NOT Karen Read.
Guys- I was in the civil service game for a while so you can take it from me: Proctor is on his way out the door, permanently. The police unions are extremely strong, and the contract they have with police department makes cops un-fireable without a lengthy process of investigation, documentation, and review. Putting someone on paid leave is simply the first step in that process. The fact that he’s keeping his salary, again, means absolutely nothing and you shouldn’t read into that at all because there’s no meaning behind it whatsoever. That’s also part of the process. First you put them on administrative leave, then you do an internal investigation, then you begin the firing process, then there are hearings, the a decision is made, then there’s a review, then it’s finalized, and then he can appeal. After that, if his appeal is denied, he’ll be gone from the department forever and will be unemployable as a police officer anywhere in Massachusetts and probably the country. So, don’t worry. They’re on step one and I believe it’s a 30 day process in most places. So any bar owners in the area, y’all might wanna keep a lookout for a resume for a dishwasher spot open.
@@koolblue6927the original poster is 100% correct. I have family members on the L.A. Sheriff's Dept and he outlined the process perfectly and accurately. 😊
It sounds like the higher ups also engage in that behavior and isn't discouraged from doing it. Because even talking to the higher up the same way he talked to his buddies about Karen but wasn't reprimanded tells me all I need to know! If they do retry, I'd ask for a different judge because it's obvious she's predujudiced against the defense, also her relationship with the families! So close that they call her Aunt Bev!
Proctor should’ve been gone a long time ago. Waiting for the trial to finish was dirty. They know it could’ve helped the defense so they waited. And he shouldn’t have been transferred, he should be fired. Hes not the only dirty cop there either, that’s for sure. Immediate action would’ve been a lonnnnnnnng time ago
The state police superintendant held a news conference stating this conduct would not be tolerated, blah, blah. He did a great job of BS. He should be removed also.
MSP knows this is bad following the trial and public opinion and that is the only reason Mr Cop stood there telling us how seriously they are taking this. But it wasn’t serious enough before, when Karen was being buried alive by MSP police corruption and nobody will be held accountable in a significant way.
The MSP werent aware of the texts outside of Proctor and his superiors until it was released by the DOJ/FBI investigation. I'm not defending them by any means but the trial was what brought those to light. With that said, makes it even more infuriating as Tully and Bukheinik were not disciplined/investigated also
If they were serious about it, they would’ve said and done it within the 16 months they had. Ridiculous and disgusting “effort” by the CW. We want action, not BS words
Relocated ? That means he gets to be someone else's headache....My opinion is He should lose his job. Pension..and qualified immunity....as should the rest of them, including his Supervisor...
He should be fired no one should act like him, he didn't investigate the home which should have been done asap. it was like it just stopped with Karen.
I think the way they all protected Colin Albert is so telling to me every single person tried to protect that kid. He was 17 at the time really think he is a major player in this. All of his Dads police buddies helped out
I agree. Especially after watching him and his family go after turtle boy the other week. That was wild to watch. That whole family is unhinged and violent.
IKR. It’s easy to get distracted with the Jen McCabes and Albert Higgins who are taking the brunt of the third party culprit spotlight because there is so much more evidence to consider with them (thanks to Proctor not actually investigating everyone who appeared at Fairview that night) but it’s interesting to look at what everyone did not say in their initial interviews. They did not list Colin as being there around the same window as JOK arrived. So suspicious
That was my concern as well. I was concerned that some of the jurors had lost focus, thinking it was their job to solve the case before deciding reasonable doubt on the charges. In hindsight it still appears that way to me.
it's more insulting that, despite the lack of evidence we all saw, there were juror who 100% believed she was guilty. There are rumors that a juror is an ex cop, and some have close relationships with cops in the area.
@@DanyPolloo please stop already with blaming law Enforcement-It is just so offensive to continue to seek to point finger at law Enforcement. Reality check her SUV recorded her reversing 62 ft at 24 mph hitting John 'Keefe. 100% independent evidence.
Getting rid of Proctor is not nearly enough. Morrissey is a joke and he needs to go, as does Yuri, Tully and many others! There is so much corruption here it’s not funny. As a Mass tax payer, I don’t want to continue to pay there salaries, I want honest police that communities can trust and feel safe around! I’m someone who support the police in general, but what has been going on far too long is disgusting! There are good cops who have to work under this dark shadow. No one hates a dirty cop more than a good cop …. And the public they are supposed to serve. And, for that matter, every single PD in every town in Massachusetts needs to do the same starting with Boston and CANTON!! I’m hopeful the FBI have big plans for all that’s happening, and hoping they will help KR clear her name as innocent!
The MSP should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Proctor should have been rehomed as soon as his vile behavior became apparent. Waiting for the trial to end was ridiculous. The MSP and their corrupt and incompetent troopers continually insult John and his family by refusing to actually take full accountability or perform a real professional investigation into his death. I feel bad for MA taxpayers that are footing the 6 figure salaries for these beyond worthless cops
🤜🏼🤛🏼 Agree 💯‼️ They’ve KNOWN about this for YEARS… ridiculous they wait till the jury hung? I call bullshit…total bullshit.. MA residents, how do you allow this? 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
@@BlackStump172they were lied to by the “investigators” and I find it hard to believe that they STILL believe the CW’s version of John’s death. If I were his family, I would be seriously questioning what the evidence says, not the police-who have every reason to lie. It’s unfortunate as we see this happen a lot w/victim’s families. I get it-but I would feel extremely manipulated (by the cops & state) & I would be rethinking everything.
@BlackStump172 they SHOULD be insulted, and what they WANT is irrelevant, for real, especially given there hasn't been an ACTUAL investigation into his death.
One retired fed posited that Brian Albert, the actual murderer, has dirt on somebody much higher up the food chain, did some dirty work for a politician or some other higher level person and is being protected to keep that dirt hidden.
I don't think anyone in the prosecution camp wants the public to see Jackson get another run at tearing their fable apart... They were just talking tough for their true believers and.....to run up Karen Read attorney fees. Just because Read is innocent doesn't mean that she isn't still their enemy.
True. And they were already delusional going to trial with such a leaky chain of evidence and so much highly disputable evidence and witness accounts. I feel like the whole thing was a train they couldn’t get off even if they wanted to. Someone made the decision to give the benefit of the doubt to a colleague or worse do a little favour for a mate that is now being held over them. And that must be a domino effect up the ranks and through the DA office. To make it to trial the first time with such an unsound case there must have been immense pressure from people with a lot to loose. They’re going to keep trying to blame and convict Karen until they are stopped by the weight of public opinion as more and more state staff are discredited and corruption comes to light.
There needs to be a protocol that is followed in an investigation. Nothing that happened here showed me a proper protocol that was followed if they even had one.
His supervisors need to be looked into as well. The disgusting texts went to them, so it shows it was allowed and accepted by those above him. Boston police should be apologising to Karen Read too, for the abuse that she faced from Proctor!!
First thing I thought about Proctor " like shuffling the pedo priests," so I'm glad put that out there. But it's also not just the disgusting texts and "unprofessionalism" as MSP says. There's waaay too much fishy stuff about Proctor's rush to judgement; he said, "based on the fact that Karen Read hit a police officer and left him to die...." That was not a fact for him to be judge and jury about after so little time. Also, "the guy whose house it is, is a Boston cop, too, " so he didn't EVEN go in the house, or investigate the people at the gathering.
Here’s a tip, colonel. Don’t claim the department took “immediate action” in one breath, and then acknowledge working on the issues for 16 months in the next breath. THIS is exactly why the public thinks they’re a joke.
Can the defense ask for an Aquital when they go back to court on the 21 st? Proctor should be fired with no pension and fire YURI and chief Rafferty fire them all
MSP Spokesman says they're working on "gaining the public's trust," and claiming they only learned of this during the trial, while simultaneously "sidestepping" the facts... That means LYING. Again. On top of lies. This clown's remarks "from the top" give a CLEAR indication that dishonesty, lack of professional ethics, and illegal conduct are ENDEMIC in the entire organization. I'd never live in Massachusetts under any circumstances, but this is disgraceful.
The chain of custody was broken with all of the evidence', the crime scene wasn’t secured, and the cops never went into the house where the murder occurred.
MSP is trying to gaslight everyone regarding Proctor and the systemic issues they clearly have, and have known they have, within their force. Waiting to do this until minutes after the mistrial is enraging and makes it feel like they only kept him to try to convict her. MSP needed to do the right thing as soon as they learned about this.
It's not that it came out in the testimony at trial; it's that it came out to the public at large as a result of the testimony at trial, and of all y'all's coverage. Thanks very much.
Turtleboy discovered quite a bit of evidence and interviewed the snow plow driver before Karen's attorneys even knew about him - Turtleboy/Aidan deserves credit.
@@marygoff3332 Thank you for giving credit where it's due. I haven't seen a lot of Mr. Kearney's coverage, but I'm aware he's been an important source of information for a lot of people.

He is no good clearly stating a bunch of BS. He should be replaced and I hope the people and the media hold him responsible for his terrible department.

My husband is a retired LVMPD police officer. One of the other officers let my husband drive into an ambush while he parked and hid while my husband drove in to deal with an active sh**ter. The cowardly officer was fired. Yet he was hired by a small Indian reservation police department, and promoted to sgt. He was then demoted for another cowardly act. But is still employed as a police officer.
I’m so proud of your husband and thankful he’s retired. It’s such a shame we all have to give a list of references when we apply for a job but past employees are only allowed to answer the question “Would you hire this person again?” I live in SC and this one question that can be answered with only a yes or no is not a true reference to someone’s character. Bad people always find a way to get a new job, even if it’s short lived because their true character comes out. It’s such an injustice to the employers and communities of wherever the coward is employed next. The only way this ends is exposure and consequences.

You're so appreciated, Peter! One of the many shocking details of this trial was all of the driving under the influence especially by LE. 🤯 I drink alcohol , but responsibility. This community can't be trusted. In my opinion.
The US is so wild. The only way you get a reasonable amount of paid leave, not as a general part of your role, not by having a child, not even a death in the family. No, just be in a position of power then be wholly unethical and woefully unprofessional and incompetent at your job.
I am seriously angry and disgusted. The Commonwealth needs to give Karen Read her life back. This corruption should be cause for dismissal of all charges against her. Realistically I know that ain’t gonna happen.
Thank you Peter. This trial wasn’t their MSP FINEST HOUR. Prayers for Karen Read that there isn’t another trial and it’s finished w a lesser lesser filing.
I was too - but the evidence has shown there is no way he was hit by a car - even just the arm injuries prove that - but there is SO MUCH MORE evidence to the contrary and ZERO evidence showing he was hit by a car. I mean, how would he end up 30 feet from the curb and have zero broken bones? That shows me he was dragged to the spot he was found. Sadly. And no one group of friends and family has so many butt dials at the same time and on the same days. Also, why did Albert & Higgins get rid of their phones the day before they were to have them confiscated? She is not guilty. No doubt in the world.
Same here! I was disgusted by the evidence collection, but thought surely they had *something* if they were prosecuting. I kept waiting for it, and the first nail in the coffin was the ME. All the experts at the end convinced me she couldn't have hit him with her car to cause that combination of injuries. He had so many injuries to his head/brain, they weren't all documented. One hit with a vehicle isn't going to cause all those injuries to the head, with NO broken bones or bruising to the body (aside from the ones from CPR). A lot of the people who think she did it think so because, "the evidence only points to her and she said she hit him." Just ignoring that the investigation *only* looked at her so they didn't collect any evidence pointing anywhere else, and she may or may not have said she hit him, but the evidence doesn't show she actually did.

Some have been threatened after speaking out, and allegedly Mr. Albert, unlike normal people, has a phone number for the police that someone will pick up immediately-a privilege that others don't have. Seriously, the people were BEGGING for change but got ignored. Police audits that were painfully won were assigned to someone who was against them. The people wanted the police chief gone (her contract was over), but they renewed the contract for another year. And then they had the audacity to say, "We are currently not looking for input from the public." I mean, WTF?! In the beginning, I thought a whole conspiracy was a bit much, but after seeing the whole thing going on outside of the trial makes me a lot more open to it. I have never seen people so desperate in those meetings, but those selectmen were just ignoring the hell out of them.
I think if it was just reckless driving I would and put that part of my life behind me. I hope playboy offers KR millions of dollars to pose in a police uniform that has protor badge number on it.
It's crazy that they can even charge her with DUI. How can they prove what her blood alcohol level was or that she was impaired when she was not pulled over, never given a sobriety test. It's basically their word against hers and lots of people even said they didn't think she was drunk.
@jfk32975 so, I was subpoenaed to testify in a drunk driving trial after a man who was a regular customer in a store I worked at was seen by an off duty cop obviously drunk, like falling down drunk, leave the store, get in his car and drive himself home. The off duty cop followed him home and called the police. They came and arrested him in his home. There was no question that he was over the legal limit. He pushed to go to trial and he actually won. His defense was that he was arrested after being home for around an hour. He said he went home, drank more and smoked some before he was given a sobriety test. Who knows what his blood alcohol level was when he was driving. He was not arrested in the act of driving and he basically said it was the off duty cops word against his that he was driving drunk. I'd say it's totally possible and Mayne probable that KR went back home and continued to drink while she left angry voice mails for JO.

I think i heard there were motions where they decided ahead of trial for him to be referred to as mr instead of officer, because of something about reminding them he was an officer could be potentially influencing or somethinf like that. Given the general divided sentiment on law enforcement, that wouldn't surprise me at all though.
I am a Massachusetts Resident and have been since I was born. I do not trust the state police nor do I trust most Boston Police officers. Unfortunately that’s just how I’ve lived my life here. Stay out of their way follow the rules of the road and do nothing that can put you in their hands.
Watching after the live, but if I were a taxpayer in the Norfolk district, I would start a petition demanding that the CW NOT retry this case. There is very little that the CW can bring to a retrial other than what has been testified to already. They can’t go back and change the investigation or lack of investigation to work with. It would be an effort in futility.
The Read supporters hopefully will start a petition to stop the retrial. Great idea. That’s a lot more productive than standing on the street and yelling all day long!
Gov. Healey says state police ‘made the right decision' by relieving Michael Proctor of duty. You'd think by her saying relieved of his duty. he was fired. But he was transferred, not relieved. it should not be about just the names that he called her. It should also include his lack investigation, not writing reports, chain of custody, not taking pictures. Now all the McAlberts need to do is re home Colin. I really think this kid, is not going to be able to help himself, getting drunk and bragging about doing the cop to friends.
Letting the police investigate the police is like letting students grade their own tests.
Send in the FBI to do this
I’m pretty sure the FBI is already investigating. They were the ones who took possession of the text messages on Proctors phone and the DA knew about this.
Exactly. Too much impropriety within the MSP. Proctor and others brought shame a distrust they bestowed on the citizens
Are you implying that people would not grade their work fairly? I find people are harder on grading themselves than others.
Based on your experience, do you have the opinion that there could be a cover up at all? Or more so just a botched investigation?
“stuff” guy versus the Crash Daddies… How on earth did this case make it to trial? Guess there must have been a lot of pressure from people trying to cover their asses, toward people in power who owed favours.
Are you serious? You don't think police say in private what Proctor said about Karen Read and worse about any person they arrest? You're either very naive or you're not a former police officer.
@@Resmith18SR are you also an officer? If so, what is your opinion on the investigation?
Edit: besides what y’all text each other lol
If she pled to a DUI? All the cops that admitted being drunk that drove that night should be charged the same!
Unfortunately, they weren't tested.

Considering the strong words from the Governor, I truly believe that she influenced this decision by MSP.
Behavior like Proctor's doesn't happen in a vacuum, it trickles down from the top.

Is that right if this was the case. What a messed up case. I feel like Judge Bev did everything she could to hurt the defense.
That's been no where on the news.they were split

That was my concern as well. I was concerned that some of the jurors had lost focus, thinking it was their job to solve the case before deciding reasonable doubt on the charges. In hindsight it still appears that way to me.

With his lies and deceit he will never be able to write a report, or be a witness for trial, ever again. I wonder how many will file to have their cases relooked into that he investigated.
Exactly I would.
Why the Colonel did not apologize to Karen Read as well is intolerable.
He is no good clearly stating a bunch of BS. He should be replaced and I hope the people and the media hold him responsible for his terrible department.
Why should he ? He didn't call her a whack job...
When you are the cause of a cop dying, you are not going to get too many apologies, from other cops.
But she’s not the cause, John was not hit by a vehicle.
Peter, I appreciate you covering this trial. This trial and the extending issues with the case. This case is important. Because this happens every where and it is time for LE change, accountability, etc.
If Proctor is called in a second trial...make him read his txts all over again
Ask him why he didn’t investigate the house in question
@@StephenRollins-x5vthey already did ask him
That would be great.
Hell yeah……and then when he’s done reading those texts the judge should wash his mouth out with soap
This Karen Read trial was a Godsend to the Massachusetts community. If this trial never happened, this police behaviour would have never stopped!
And is propping up the economy there with all these Karen Read supporters giving away their money.😂😂😂
You're exactly right! Even still, I can't imagine living in that area, I'd be afraid to get pulled over for anything.
@@brightbleu I don't distrust each and every police officer I encounter. Just like I don't distrust every doctor or lawyer or people in any profession. I assume that they're doing the best they can until I see with my own eyes otherwise.
@@Resmith18SR I don't either, I'm grateful especially for the cops in my community and for all they do. However, given the corruption that's come out about the police in that particular Massachusetts area, it's sad but I'd be scared of all of them. They have a lot of cleaning up to do and the top dogs are blowing a lot of hot air and dragging their feet.
I'm so sorry for your husband. But this is how it works with the police departments. One will fire him and another one will scoop them up.
So sad
Karma will get him
That's crazy
What about EVERYONE ELSE THAT WAS INVOLVED, HIS BOSSES ETC???
agree. they had to know what testimony..plus any scuttlebutt about texts

There's likely to be others IMO - this isn't the first time.
The state police should invest in training for evidence & crash reconstruction
Truth! Their “expert” was a mess.

Howie Carr said today that all MSP will be called Proctors instead of troopers.
Proctor only got excused from duties when the prosecution lost, makes me think they would have kept him on in service if the jury voted guilty.i Amazing how his behaviour was only an issue after the hung jury. How the hell are they going to retry this case it's a shit show.
I thought the same - maybe just a slap on the wrist for publicity purposes if a guilty verdict had been reached.
So if she was found guilty would he have kept his job ? That’s bullcrap
The behavior of a bad cop is no reason to let a drunk driver involved in a homicide to walk with no consequences.

The corruption is endemic, systematic, pervasive, universal.

He has been transferred to Dept H South Boston ,not as an active Trooper.
I was ready to believe Karen accidentally hit him, but lack of bruising makes me believe it didn't happen.
Lack of bruising and no broken bones after allegedly being struck at 24 mph then thrown 30ft to the ground, unbelievable.
Lack of blood too
The timeline shows that Karen could not have hit him . She was gone when Nagle’s sister came out to his car from that house and they saw no body .
Justice for John O'Keefe 💔❤💔
Not at the expense of non guilty Karen Read

I wish they had investigated what happened at the Albert residence that night. We may never know now that the evidence has been scrubbed.
I can’t help but think that there were jurors who either had some sort of relationship with LE involved or they were scared to death of LE involved.
Bingo!
You should watch the Canton town meetings. Everyone who is not a well-connected townie is treated as lesser by the police. At least that's what they're saying.
And then they had the audacity to say, "We are currently not looking for input from the public."
I mean, WTF?!
In the beginning, I thought a whole conspiracy was a bit much, but after seeing the whole thing going on outside of the trial makes me a lot more open to it.
I have never seen people so desperate in those meetings, but those selectmen were just ignoring the hell out of them.
So many of these troopers are on the brady list... its crazy.
If the foreperson that the judge hand selected turns out to be the holdout… that looks very suspicious
Karen Read should not plead to anything.
I wouldn't
Easy to say if you could get life in prison
I would not even plead to jaywalking.
she shouldn’t plead to flushing the toilet!!!
Her blood level after 9 am was over legal limit. She is seen driving on video
@@jfk32975 Who’s to say she didn’t drink a lot until she got home?

I just can't with this guy. Only one of the officers that testified referred to Officer John Okeefe as an officer. Absolutely despicable, and this is the reason police have lost respect from the people.
I noticed that too
I think i heard there were motions where they decided ahead of trial for him to be referred to as mr instead of officer, because of something about reminding them he was an officer could be potentially influencing or somethinf like that. Given the general divided sentiment on law enforcement, that wouldn't surprise me at all though.
Damage control, damage control, damage control! CW can start earning trust by admitting the KR setup by Proctor and going forward with transparency!
When I was working as a paralegal for a defense firm we had a jury hang twice. The judge dismissed the case and wouldn't allow a 3rd trial!
