Love your slip of the tongue: instead of society, you said "satiety", which is defined as the state of being completely satisfied. Well, that's the fullness of sat-chit-ananda (existence-awareness-bliss) which is ever-present within us. Even a little 'taste' or 'glimpse' of it can be enough for one to desire the whole experience and give one hope of living in peace.
