why isn’t santana lopez here? she’s the first ever multi-colored lesbian to ever be on a show. naya pushed the directors to make santana gay, she’s the reason why people like cherly blossom exist because directors in the past were scared to do what glee did

The fact that there are parents who would rather having their kids in a toxic abusive relationship, rather then a “homosexual” one, just because “At least their straight” is disgusting for me. I am pansexual and queer, and there was a time when I was probably around 9 that I would look at girls and think they were cute, the same way I thought about boys, I was afraid people would judge me for seeing girls and boys in the same way. I have known I was not straight my entire life, and now I have people from my class asking me about stuff related to LGBTQ+ and am not ashamed to use myself as an example and to say I am pansexual and queer. And I hope we as a society and a whole start accepting better everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, ethnicity, ...

I don’t wanna tell my mom I’m Pansexual not because I’m scared she’d not accept me but because I’m scared she would tell me it’s just a phase or idk what I’m talking about. Even though I had a online gf once and got in trouble for it, not because she was a girl but because she was scared of me being online. But whenever I brought up lgbtq+ such as when it was pride month, she seemed as if she didn’t wanna talk about it at all. Plus she’d always say don’t have boyfriends, instead of both/all genders. Which makes me second guess myself…I always feel like she just doesn’t think kids my age should know about lgbtq+ because once I made a Pansexual and bisexual art for me and my friend and she said something along the lines of you shouldn’t know about that. I’ve been knowing about lgbtq+ for a while but only around a year have I realized I’m Pansexual. Haven’t told many adults but I have told many other family members like my aunt who’s older but still in school and plus a bunch of friends who’ve supported me. Just wanna tell my mom know but I know I should wait till I’m older probably…

It’s your thing; you choose who you want, where you want, when you want, how you want: coming out is for you. And being outed is something you can never get back. I was publicly shamed, bullied and humiliated by my teachers for being genderfluid and using they/them pronouns. The school said if I didn’t stop antagonizing them for it, they’d kick me out because it was easier to get rid of me than to actually deal with the problem.
I dropped out after that, and my dad was so mad at me. Even though I wanted to kill myself, even though my sister did the same thing for different reasons. When my sister dropped out because of continuous panic attacks, dad took her out for lunch. When I dropped out because of discrimination, he yelled at me.
I’m now going back to that school after a year, and I’m not looking forward to it. One of the teachers retired the same year I left, but the other one’s still there. And I’m definitely gonna get her in some classes. My dad doesn’t get why I feel the need to make it known that I don’t trust the school.
The only person I’ve ever felt actually cared about this is my sister. She’s the only person who’s never wanted me to stop talking about it, or just get over it. I love her so much!

Okay so I just need to get this off my chest and tell a bunch of online users because well, I don't know any of you to be scared or anything. This is long af and I just need to rant about my sexuality confusion and the homophobia I'm surrounded by. Read if you want.
So I've always had guy crushes my whole life, they never lasted more than a week though. Maybe that was a sign and maybe it wasn't. I always thought it was because I was in elementary/early middle school so I just didn't know who I wanted. That and all the guys in my school were shitty. In 5th grade I pretty much didn't hang out in friend groups. I only hanged out with one or two girls. I always liked it better like that though because I was that shy, quiet, nice, smart kid in school. Anyway I became close with her and I always had this nagging or suspicion feeling. I really can't put it into words. At the time I didn't think it was a crush, I just thought that is how you feel with a close best friend. So I brushed all those thoughts away. In 6th grade, me and that girl were put into separate classes. We tried to stay close I suppose by hanging out during recess, but eventually we started drifting apart. I met this other girl who was in my class. I had knew of her from previous years but never actually made conversation. We met through a mutual friend. We became close and only hanged out with each other, just like me and the girl from last year did. That same feeling came back, but I brushed it off thinking the same thing I thought with my past best friend. I saw my past best friend from 5th grade hanging out with this girl I used to be close friends with. Like I said, me and that best friend from 5th grade drifted apart after switching classes during 6th grade. She became closer with this girl while I became closer with the girl in my class. Looking back at it, I think I was jealous. I thought it was just because I blamed the other girl for stealing my 5th grade best friend who I missed being close to. Oh I wish I would have noticed all these signs, it would have been so much easier. Anyway I ignored all these things. The summer after 6th grade, right before 7th grade, I started thinking about all of this. I started really questioning my sexuality. I thought, "Am I gay? Bisexual? Pansexual? What even is pansexual?" I thought questioning your sexuality was something everyone did during their preteen years, you know? I guess not really though. So one day me, my older sister #1, and my mom were in the car after coming out of the McDonalds drive through. Now me and older sister #1 don't get along, we still don't actually. I have 2 older sisters and an older brother (or had an older brother). Older sister #1 made this sexist and homophobic comment that pissed me off, so I said something about it. Here's the conversation-
    Me: "I don't need a guy, I'm a strong and independent young woman" (I was 12 btw)
Older sister #1: "You only say that because older sister #2 always says that. All she does is corrupt your mind."
Me: "Um no. I just want to be independent. And don't bring older sister #2 into this, like you always do. She's a good sister and person. She's independent and doesn't let some guy control or justify her actions like you do with your boyfriend."
Older sister #1: Yeah I'm not fucking gay that's why."
I was confused and stunned. I knew her and my parents were homophobic, racist, and sexist, but no one ever expressed it. It was just something that remained unsaid. If it wasn't for school, I wouldn't even know about LGBTQ+
We got into a heated argument in the car (she was driving btw, while by mom was in the backseat on the phone). I was pointing out her homophobia and she was deflecting everything I said. The words coming out of her mouth hurt me, for some odd reason. I thought it was because I was a supporter for the community, even at only 12 years old. She had said, "Polish people don't believe in that, blah blah blah." We stopped to buy my dad beer and I refused to get out of the car while her and my mom went into the store. After they left, I was really emotional and was trying not to cry. Once we got home, I ran into my older sister #2 room and just cried my heart out. My older sister #2 was at work. My older brother didn't live with us. Once my dad went outside for a smoke, I went to my mom and asked for her opinion on the community and stuff. She looked disgusted and had a face I never seen before in my 12 years of life. She said, "No I don't believe in that. I don't like it." My sister who was in the room, had smirked and said "I told you so."
I called my brother right after. He sounded tired and was about to go to sleep but immediately perked up once he heard me crying. I tried to lie and say I wasn't, but he didn't believe me and I gave in. I asked him his thoughts about the community and he was supportive and amazing, like he's always been. I told him what happened with my mom and sister and the things he said after still make my tear up and laugh at the same time.
He said, "What you're gay now?" I had sniffled and stuttered out a quick no. He didn't believe me and he softened his voice. He said, "Hey I'll always love and support you, you know that right? I'll always be your older brother and you'll always be my baby girl. I'll always be there for you." God I'm tearing up right now. I told my other sister I'm questioning my sexuality, it was really hard to say it. She supported me and said pretty much the same thing as my brother. A few months later, my older brother died.
    Stabbed and killed.
I lost one less person who I knew would always love and support me. I lost my sibling, my brother, my older brother. I was still 12, he was 29. I'm tearing up right now.
But uh, I'm still trying to figure out who I am and what my sexuality is. I'm still 12 years old. I wish I could go back to school and maybe figure it out by meeting people. I have a suspicion I'm bisexual, but I have no idea. I'm too scared to confide in anyone honestly. I have homophobic, racist, sexist parents and an older sibling who thinks the same way as them. I hope to one day figure it out. And who knows! Maybe my mom will end up supporting me and not hating me. Me and older sister #2 always have been her favorite daughters :)
All this and I also struggle with anxiety and social anxiety. Both I guess. I have ticks I get a few months as well. A bunch of school assignments. My life honestly sucks right now and I'm waiting for the day I figure all my shit out.
I'm sorry to those who read this whole thing. I just needed to rant. Um so ya, that's my coming out story so far. Lets see where it takes me from here on out.

To everyone out there coming out is one of the scariest most difficult things you will ever do some people you thought were great friends will treat you differently or even turn their backs on you. On the other hand you will get love and support from unexpected areas but know this, when it all settles down and it will settle down you will be surrounded by those who support love and accept you for who you are....be strong .
