This could be the building blocks for a childrens educational series. Its entertaining, to the point and is informative. I really enjoyed it and I do hope to see more like this in the future. Thanks again for insightful, and enjoyable content
As beautiful as this is, what struck me most was the style in which it's written. The writing and language provide as much character and atmosphere as the visuals. Excellent writing.
I would certainly think about giving a few copies to the Catholic school I used to go to and indeed to all my friends and family in the hope that it could become apart of their understanding. Hail Wodan and Hail Saxnot! May Tiw will them and both you C & T!
I loved this, sent it to everyone. Watched it loads My oldest daughter wants to celebrate Yule now. But have made it clear I'm not sacrificing my horse. The compromise was my neighbour. Fantastic work. An award winner in my opinion.
you sum up the second half of his realisation with the narrator's sentence "lifted the christian veil of christmas which concealed the ancient ways of yule", when it would be better to show this as part of the story. have the character go back to his church and see the christians drinking mead, sitting at a table arranged in the same way, singing in praise of father christmas with a statue of jesus looking quite anglo at the head, and a priest splashing holy water at people. upon seeing this have him realise rather than just explaining that it did happen. excellent work though, i very much enjoyed this.
I agree. The first rule of storytelling is: show, don't tell. I love this idea, and the writing language is fantastic. I just wish the story had more closure rather than the main character simply going home and while in bed, having a realization. I wish we could SEE his character transformation, how his experience in the woods created growth and changes in him. That would really make this feel like a complete story.
I recently began trying to build a relationship with Odin. Tonight is a very windy and snowy night in November in Colorado. I am laying next to a well lit Christmas tree and fire place. I just watched this twice. This is what I wish I had been raised on. This is truth
Damn, my man, this is absolutely ab awesome tale for Ye Olde Yultide! This just became the newest traditione 'o me familial Jül customs, upon the first listening! Thank you ever so much for adding to our humble Pagan ritual. First reading amongst our celebrations to come on the eve of Christmas.
@Æsctir STJ is ridiculously subversive and pushes his weird pajeet fetish, persistently using the term for the linguistic group Indo-European to reflect our races actual name, Germanic. He even hosts fucking pajeet priests about pajeet gods and other utterly nonsense stuff. If you look at the haplogroups of humans and the genetic spread there we have more in common with a fucking frog than we do with Indians. But it ties into the stupid 'aryan' nonsense from the 1800's. They thought that somewhere around the north of India was a tribe of Germanic origin. It's bollocks mind, and DNA studies prove it. That and he is part pajeet so he's biased.
@@bashkillszombies You are aware that people thousands of years ago lived in different areas? Indo-European people does not mean that they were Indian. Obviously they weren't. The Goths came from what is now Ukraine, does that mean they were Slavic? Of course not. Today there are Middle-Eastern people in Iran, does that mean they were always there? No we know now that they replaced the original people living there, but they still speak a variation of the original people's language. The Tocharians lived in what is now China, does that mean they were Chinese? No of course not. Are the blonde, blue eyed people north of India (the Kalash people) Indian? No. Today they have unfortunately become mixed, but you can literally search "blonde kalash" in Google. There's no need to be tilted. The reason he hosted Indian priests was because he is interested in pagan religions and practices, because he considers himself pagan.
This is great. I enjoyed this so much that I bought two copies of the book recently--one for myself and one for a family I am friends with. Great stuff. Keep it up!
This is tremendous work chaps. Well done indeed! I do hope that you are able to do some more collaborations on a continuing theme, looking at how our everyday life is underpinned by heathen roots. Maybe something about the days of the week, named after Saxon gods? Or Easter? Or the many place-names derived from Anglo Saxon gods? Anyhow, even if this is a one-off, it made my new year magnificent.
Excellent! I really enjoyed this. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to find any celebrations like this tonight...but I'll be sure to eat plenty of lentils tomorrow...
@@endsexism4039 pagans cannot live without Christianity? Teaching children about semitic blood sacrifice is wrong. This is a foreign concept and not native to Europeans.

This, gentlemen, is what true counter-culture looks like. Highly glorious!
Sounds great! Go make it!

Thank you.
James Bates for something to be good enough for adults to appreciate and for children to enjoy is such high esteem in my book

You guys should turn this into an actual book.
That may well happen
Survive the Jive I would read this to my Nephew. It could be a new tradition.
Good idea!

An excellent idea! I would certainly buy a few, I don't think I've ever seen a proper Heathen Holy-Day book before.
I was looking for a little cartoon to show my children as we celebrate Yule, this was absolutely perfect and beautiful! Thank you.
Embrace your Pagan roots!

I am too. Recently, I’ve noticed a lot of peculiar black birds around my hometown and even school. Not sure if it’s just a coincidence
I have the book and also I am watching this video as part of my annual yuletide celebration. Good Yule! Long live our ancient traditions,
