This is a new year. New mindset. Changes are needed to grow. That s why i am going to buy a pair of rollerblades. This channel is one thing that inspires me. 🎉
I have a flat setup on my Adapts for cruising around at the park with the girls and carving a bunch and I still do the occasional grind on them but I skate Anti for pretty much everything. I have never had an issue with turning, getting speed or skating around on anti. Then again, I'm over 40.
Is there any to make “minimal” anti rocker on razor cult frame? For instance can i put more grippy/ bigger/ bearing wheels on the inside than whats stock? For instance, can i have 60 mm outside wheels and 56 mm anti rocker wheels with bearings?
To me, aeons would be the perfect skate, if they could sort out the slow grinding. I'd also like an anti-rocker uniboot skate. Aeons just feel like an extension of my foot, the low ride and light weight is their strength.
Back into skating since 2002. Had my first skate session on roces m12 anti rocker and did not like the feeling. What are some good wheels/size/hardness to get to replace the anti rockers!?!?
Mr Lino, as a mature of age skater like myself, you blow my mind with your steezy skating, inspires me in my 40s to keep at it, even though it's been 25 years!
OK. I just got my first set of aggressive frames. I was upset with myself because I ordered the Kizer IV without realizing the Kizer V is available. I'm still awaiting my wheels. This video makes me feel better about the frames I got. I've been skating Razors Cosmos and just got some new Powerslide liners in them. The hills here in the Midwest are terrifying. Hopefully the smaller wheels will help with that and encourage me to skate the parks more and the streets less. I think I'll get some SUV frames, too. Falling on grass seems favorable.
So if I remove the 2 middle wheels from my fleamarket find Salomon st:s? Can I call my setup antirocker? Or if I put in the middle 2 smaller grindwheels? Or is the frame also rockered? I’m a skier so rocker means a little different in my sport😅
Re: #12 & wheel slides. Are they not really bad for your wheels? I haven’t skated in years but I remember doing T stops back in the 90’s & getting horrible flat spots on my Hyper Fat Boys. After that, rolling felt awful & trying to bomb hills sounded like a woodpecker!
i loooove how everyone brings up alex b as a point, cuz its huge and a massive reason im bout to try anti again lolol, and that og junkyu edit got me curious
I was excited starting again a month ago because with anti rocker, I could skate and not get knee pain. (Knee issues stopped my lifelong skateboarding). I tried flat setup today and at the end of the session had really bad knee pain. I think it was twisting and antirocker was not.

I do anyway not understand the hype about flat-frames concerning aggressive-skating. Nowadays you have incredible good antirocker-frames and if you mount bigger wheels on them (from 60mm upward) you will speedwise not feel a huge difference to a flat frame. The only real advantages of a flat frame in aggressive skating are in my eyes just if you roll on nasty surfaces if you skate street, for doing huge gaps or if you like to add wizard tricks in your aggressive skating. But the advantages of an antirocker setup with bigger wheels are in my opinion ways bigger in aggressive skating than on a flat setup.
big reason people stick with it is because it just feels so much better and more agile. if you skate flat for a prolonged period of time, going back to antirocker feels absolutely gross just rolling around.
Definitely a good frame but I think more people would still use and have used FLT3s. This being said I wonder if it would be a different story if they came stock on a good number of boots. I felt the same about able frames on my salomon Rob Thompson’s.
Im looking forward to your arguments 😉 If youre a big guy weighing in at around 90kg or more, your wheels wear a lot faster and break a lot easier on Anti, so already by this: its not for everyone.. Sure, unmatched grindabilty/no wheel-bite, but also skating like on train rails.. 🚂 Thats why we've got so many awesome flat frames on the market these days. Just took us 25+ years to get there.. 😅 Reminder is set 👍 Nothing but love! ❤
I'm over 200lbs and I've never had a problem with my skates. Actually, when I was at Woodward, I was doing jumps over 5 stairs, ramps, etc, and my back gave out before my skates lol.
@@Adam-M- Good to hear your Setups last 👍 Skating Park/Ramps or Street makes a huge difference, of course. Back in my Anti-days (a long time ago 😅) , i was mainly skating Street which helped with the cracks and the wear..I went through Mindgame, Senate, UC/Powerslide-wheels within weeks at around 80kg. Went back to Flat eventually, lost some Tricks , but its ok since the Skate is so fast and maneuverable (and im aging 😅✌️).. 2 Roll 4 Life!
Myself (As someone that does wizard moves on flat frames) I'm terrified of going down hill on antirockered wheels D: Less maneuverability sounds like gasoline to the fire for me. I was amazed when he took the heel on those 😭
Algunos modelos de ciertas marcas como los Roces ya vienen con los anti rocker por default, sin embargo los USD AEON 80, los Mery Muñoz etc no llevan antirocker, depende mucho de la marca y el modelo.
I am kinda sceptical on the stability claims. Ofc you have way more experience than I do, but downhill skaters never use only two wheels and I figure they would if it's that more stable and less speed wobbly.
Downhill skaters use 5 wheels in a lot of setups because it also increases the grip. As you have more points of contact. For sliding is also a lot more stable. ALSO , the 5 wheels make the setup faster because the roads are NOT perfectly smooth and having more wheels make the setup adjust to roughness of the rolling surface… At the end of the day this video it’s trying to post the pros of the anti rocker ignoring the disadvantages… it’s a series. Last month I did it about flat and next month I’ll do A different type of setup .
What about swivels tho?!! 😁 Good points and all comes down to preference in the end. Flat/rockered setup provides much more agility and glide. And for me personally, the fun factor is soooo much about the middle wheels and what they bring. Agreed that anti makes many grinds easier. Especially on ledges.
As far as grinding goes, sure anti is easier because it allows more room for error. Which to me, just means it cements bad form. It's harder to unlearn something you're doing incorrectly, than to learn it correctly in the first place. But, as you said, it's all about personal preference. Long as your skatin, all that matters.
I think antirocker is better for everything but actually skating, 2 wheels feels too limiting, it's like I'm on train tracks. It depends on your style though, I personally want a skate that can also grind, not a grind that can also skate.
Just watching the pros skate transition against each other its clear whos running flat bs anti. The anti look like the struggle to push and land big tricks. Also they dont do more grinds so why not just run flat and have more control?
At 41yrs old .I dissagree. I am too heavy to enjoy antirocker it seems. It is not cheaper..false economy going through wheels faster. Also frames more likey to bend or break in anti rocker.
@@martinfox9443I’m in my 20s and iv always skated anti rocker wheels way lighter then flats rocker tried it once hated it then switched to anti rocker a month after and I haven’t looked back to flare in my opinion flare rocker suck

Flat will always be better. Most of your points can be easily debunked, but we won't get into that. It all comes down to personal preference, but if you do ride flat make sure you get a frame that's made for it and most, if not all, of these points won't even matter.
WELL I actually agree with you...this is a series where I try to show the pros about different setups..next month freestyle will be the best.. WISH ME LUCK! ;)
Very entertaining and informative but just disappointed. I thought you were educating beginners about skates but you’re actually confusing them. is it possible adapt a rollerblade twister xt to anti rocker?
