    Hi Michelle. Hope your mouth is feeling better soon. I got all 4 of mine pulled at the same time, Oouch!! Oyin Handmade is based out of Baltimore, Maryland (not New York). in my opinion, Shine and Define is best used for moisture and softening the hair not so much for twist. My first purchase from Oyin was the Snack Pack and I paid $6.00 for shipping. I thought it was pricey considering I only live 20 minutes from Baltimore. After receiving the package I then realized that they are located in my local area so my next purchase was in person (fruits and berry Juice, Gregg Juice, Honey Hemp Conditioner, Hair Dew, burnt sugar & fruit berry pomades). I still have alot of their products but don't use them that often only because I am a product junky and have so many other products in my stash. But after watching your video, I think I will pull them out and use them my next wash day. Love Oyin Handmade and for some reason I feel they don't get as much press as they should. Love your videos!

    I love Oyin Handmade! I use the Hair Dew, Whipped Pudding and the Burnt Sugar Pomade. ( I love Qhemet Biologics too)

    Also, just a FYI...if an ingredient is listed after the preservative (such as phenoxyethanol), it’s not much of that ingredient in the product...typically less than 1%. It’s not a bad thing unless you’re buying a product b/c you’re under the impression that it’s rich in that ingredient.

      Thank you for sharing that with us sis!

      No, thank you for encouraging me and making me want to share. I'm a chemical engineer who does a good amount of research on certain products and its ingredient as a hobby.

    Very informative Michelle. I too have 4c hair and I can't find a gel to hold my edges to save my life. I have "those" type of edges that gels fear, so I don't slick them down. I may have to go back to pressing them with a pressing comb to keep them flat, lol. :)

    • @drmichelledaf
      @drmichelledaf  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it's really tough to find a good one. I've started to not care about edges... lol but I have some debuting soon so stay tuned!

    I mixed the Oh My Glide with alkaline water and the "greg juice" leave in conditioner they sell. like 1/3 oh my glide, 1/3 greg juice, 1/3 water in a proper spritz bottle. That mix works well for my hair and still detangles. I have a mix of 4A and 4C hair.

    I get my wisdom teeth extracted next week. Now I’m scrrd... Great review, I couldn’t agree more about Shine and Define. I just used it up to add shine and moisture for buns 🤷🏾‍♀️

      Oh nooo. Girl, it's not fun lol the actual procedure was painful but bearable. And I went to a surgeon for mine. But the healing has been hard. That is what is painful but I hope you will be OK. Make sure you don't have to go to work or anything. And yeah I think it's good for what you said but it's something I could do without. Much love sis

    The only oyin product have ever tried was the burnt sugar pomade because I saw you once using it on the end of your hair i never finished it though I ended up giving it away. I really want to go back and try their products. Just wanna say your makeup has you looking gorgeous today I like it.

    • @drmichelledaf

    I wish company's would come out with unscented versions of their product. I don't like strong smells. I had to mix the Hair Dew with something else in order to use it.

      @_ZeroQueen_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ghana Goddess I haven't tried it yet. I may get some and try to set some curls or a quick braid out with it, but I have short 4c hair so Im not sure how much difference it'd make.

    Love the hair dew is really moisturizing ♥️ for your edges you should check out Ayurveda herbs

      Yes girl it's lovely! Is that a brand or just look at the herbs in general?

    I've only ever used the Hair Dew and sprays from Oyin, as the other products were things I wouldn't use. Can you tell us which detanglers are great for 4C? As a 4C things like leave-ins, pre-poos, pomades and detanglers never work for me. I love the Frank and Greg scents more than the J&B.

    • @drmichelledaf
      @drmichelledaf  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never tried the frank juice but I think I will purchase that one next time.How did you like the hair dew? I will be doing videos soon on my fav detanglers etc. Right now it's from Obia Naturals and I put a coupon code in the info box. Much love!

    • @rewghob
      @rewghob 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ghana Goddess I use the Hair Dew as a leave-in or a refresher. It's the only leave-in that somewhat works for me. Lately Cantu Leave-in lotion is my refresher of choice. If I put anything in my hair straight after washing, it doesn't take effect. Leave-ins usually evaporate. I really didn't like Camille Rose Curl Love. I'm a hi-po. Will look out for the detangler video. It's nice to see you talk about the old school brands!

    • @drmichelledaf
      @drmichelledaf  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see, OK makes sense. I love the Obia Naturals Curl moisture cream as a leave in and it's great! And yes I want to get back into some old school brands so I will be doing more videos in the future. Much love!
