hello Jeremy, my buddy keyboard, can you make a tutorial on creating a musical instrument in the PSR-E373 and PSR-EW310 of the "A400M" Mission Impossible Rogue Nation film? I was curious what is the instrument from that scene in the film Here is the soundtrack video: th-cam.com/video/OCDZ36rIt1s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E14vEhO0sOh-BX-a
This review has me psyched! So I'm trying my hand at music, and seeing what it can do, everything it comes with, and my own song ideas in mind, has me absolutely stoked!
Im glad that you are back Jeremy!!! I saw your review on the yamaha portable grand dgx 670 and just got it recently and it is awsome thank you for reviewing it. ❤
Really really enjoyed this review. Straight to the point, with a fantastic demo of the various sounds it can produce. I cannot wait to get started on this new creative adventure!
Thank you Jeremy! ☺this is actually my favorite! the only but and for me its a big BUT, I got so overwhelmed with the software and sound lab, especially as a beginner I prefer integrated sound
I'm glad you're reviewing MIDI keyboards now. Can you also review the Naitive Instruments S88 MK3 and tell us what you thing of the key action and how it comperes to other key actions like PHA4 etc? Thanks!
Yes! I am very glad to see Jeremy See in Midi world. And Id like to hear in the future what would you think of key action of Nektar GXP61 (or 88) vs for example this Arturia Essential 3. For using mostly for piano + epiano style of playing (with sometimes of course organ and synth playing :)
Hey, Jeremy, I mentioned this keyboard controller bundle and your video to my Jazz Pianist friend from Japan, Masataka Kono, abd he probably watched your video and stated that hecwaa going to purchase it. He also reviews keyboards snd has msny very creative performance videos. He is probably the master of the Yamaha Mini Keys like the PSS-A50 and has several that he plays together, or with the Casio CT-S1 or Yamaha Reface CP. He also recently got a Yamaha YDS-20 wind controller, snd I decided to put thst on my gear list, as it is much improved snd easier to play than the one I had years ago.
Hey Jeremy...Good to see a review from you, and very timely for me, as I'm looking for a Keyboard MIDI Controller. This Arturia Keylab 61 is a worthwhile contender. As always, appreciate your honest review, really helps. Take Care...
hi, fantastic videos. the Celtic voices in this video is where is the software that came with the Arturia. i looked but as of now i cant find them. thank you and keep up the good work.
I already had a digital piano, but I agree with you regarding Arturia. I really rate the Minilab 3 for use with Ableton. I have mine setup with a midimix from Akai which I use to control Serum's many knobs and sliders.
Lots of the music software products are a money pit, with frequent updates for which they expect you to keep paying more and more. I'm talking hundreds and hundreds of US$ at a time. This is fine if you are a serious player or professional, but way too expensive for the beginner or hobbyist. After I got caught up in it for about a year, I eventually woke up and now I just ignore the upgrade offers. It's just too expensive for the home user. Just get the free, beginners' versions and a decent midi keyboard and don't fall into the trap of upgrading the free bundled software instruments and fx that come with it. Also, if you buy a decent hardware keyboard or arranger, you may well find that you get free upgrades, some of which come with new features and sounds. Eventually my software may stop working if I don't upgrade it, but I will be using my hardware for years.
Good Morning Jeremy, HNY! I just found you on TH-cam and so pleased I have. Your reviews are candid, interesting and very informative from a music professional. Might I please ask for some advice? Always wanted a keyboard, just rather confused, a 76 Key I believe would be better than one with 61 Keys. Not sure of makes and specs, but liked the Yamaha PSRE-W425 touch-sensitive keyboard, or PSR-EW310 Portable Keyboard 76 keys, if 61 Keys, or this one PSR-E473 Portable Keyboard 61 Keys. I have just started to learn the piano (2 lessons). The DGX 670 is lovely, but an overkill for a novice beginner. Just looking for the most up to date best featured sounding keyboard. I have not looked at other makes. Thanking you in advance, Best Wishes, Nigel in London
Hi Jeremy, you have inspired me a lot to learn MINI Keyboard, as I wanted to do some music production of my own but never thought it'd be so much fun and intuitive. I am in progress of setting up my home recording studio and have chosen Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 MK3. One quick question, what sound/mode were you playing at 00:14 , as I like to produce Greek/Medieval or elvish genre music, so I thought it'd sound awesome in those. Cheers from Dallas, Texas :)
They are from a computer. Midi-keyboards don't produce sounds themselves. You need a daw for these. But everything you need, except the physical computer, comes with the Arturia and can be downloaded right away! Have a good day.
hi Mr Jeremy, the review are always good as always, but if I can to request the metrics as measuring like (Kilogram, Centimeter, etc), it would be easier to scale for me, thanks
I currently use Native instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 mk2 and the Maschine 2 mk3. I like the new NI Komplete Kontrol S49 mk3 and I use Arturia Sound Explorers Collection 2, Avenger 2 from VPS. I'd like to control the sounds live like on the VPS avenger video's and the Aurturia midi keyboards seem to have that capability.
Wow, I usually don't comment on videos. But I have to write this. You have done an amazing job at explaining everything here. Can you also make videos on how to connect this one (or any arturia midi keyboard) to FL Studio and have all those instruments available in FL Studio ?
Hello there a mistake in the first link of the description and also in comentary you have put of the video to arturia you have put the casio link it not the arturia inside ? Check it well👍
Hi Jeremy, nice to have you back. I think this one does not have BT connectivity. Which midi keyboard would you recommend if -a minimum of 4 octaves -Bluetooth connectivity -and keybed quality were top priorities? Key Size is not a priority. What do you think of the Korg Micro Key Air, series? I hope you find the time to Answer. All the best
Hey, Jeremy, I hope you and you family is having a nlessed Christmas season and voming year. It's great to see you back after you long vacation trip. The price is a steal for the quality, features, software and extras. Incredible whole oackage for the price. I just have to get a new laptop which I intended to get soon, since I need a new conputer, and my store at work has a good one for $600 with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16G RAM snd 512G SSD, all the essentials I would need. I just have to rearrange things so I have room at homevwith limited space, I don't have room yo set upy exiting keyboards right now. But with all of those sounds snd other software, it will keep me more than busy for a long time.
im planning to buy, but there is Arturia Essential keylab 61 Mk3 and there is Arturia essentials keylab 61 mk3 Midi controller so what’s the sifference?
Hi Jeremy, thanks for your amazing and informative videos! I have a quick question regarding piano lessons: is it possible to learn chords/piano with a 37 key piano (YAMAHA Reface CP)? I am not trying to be a classical pianist or even a pianist… I simply want to be able to play on key boards/synthesisers and am also thinking of buying your courses to learn. Thanks!
Yes, and no. Wel you can learn some basic cords on a 37 key keyboard you also have to keep transposing because the keyboard is too short. You're probably beterof with a 49 or 61 key keyboard so you can also play with 2 hands, however for really really basic stuf 37 keys isjust fine🎹🎶
Dang! Got the Keylab Essential 88 which is indeed very big. Got the Mini which is sweet but the range is small. Now i am stuck between getting 49 or 61. The price difference would not matter to me.
Mr. Jere, could you please help me i am finding it difficult to use my yamaha sx600 as a midi keyboard. After i downloaded the driver i could only use it as an audio and not midi. Please help
i really love all that this comes with, but I just dont know how much Im gonna like the keybed, as a piano player. im so torn. I love the creativity this unlocks but I don't know how I'll do without fully weighted hammer action
Hello, I connect the synthesizer to the computer via the PHONES/OUTPUT connector, but there is no sound; if I connect it to headphones, there is sound. Please tell me how to properly connect it to the computer so that I can hear the sound of the synthesizer? YAMAHA PSR E 273
Its funny, they took away keylab pro for the mk2 licenses, now its the basic version, ill also say what i really dont like about keylab is they only give you the 8 knobs that they have chosen to modify, unless you have the corresponding program, i.e pigments, etc
If you are going to use a midi keyboard for live use you will need to consider a few things . Laptop - Specs (CPU , RAM , STORAGE). Battery Life/Health. Sound Amplification. Your DAW for live which will require some setup with patches and settings - In Essence Ableton Live Lite (Included with the most midi keyboards) or Mainstage
There are pros and cons for Using software Vs Hardware I recommend doing a bit of research into the features you want and see if it's possible on Software or Hardware
If you are using only just Software for live your laptop need to have decent specs . Now you can use older laptops or newer but the specs have to be a minimum of Intel core i5 or the equivalent AMD version 8+GB of RAM and also SSD storage. Now you can use older or worse specs then what was mentioned if you optimise your patches and software . The battery health/life in your laptop will be impacted for sure if you play without plugging in your laptop to be charged . Now if your laptop is on the older side you would probably have a Hard Drive so a External SSD would be recommended to allow for your sounds to be loaded quickly and to save space on your laptop . Some good SSDs include Samsung T7 and T7 Shield Samsung T9 or some Crucial SSDs just check the read and write speeds. Would not recommend SanDisk SSDs due to some of them failing. For playing you will need a DAW (digital audio workstation) IE software for the playback of sounds . Included with most MIDI keyboards , Ableton Live Lite is good for live use but will require you to setup patches and you are limited to only to Buses . I would recommend upgrading to a better version of Ableton or buying Mainstage (a Mac only software and quite cheap $30-40 depending on region)
Hello, I bought a Yamaha PSR-E373 some time ago, thanks to your videos! :) This is my learning keyboard (I am currently following an online course to learn how to play it). However, I am already looking to the future and considering what I can choose to upgrade my instrument when I reach a higher skill level. I hadn’t previously thought about MIDI keyboards, but now I’m considering them. I’m not sure if I prefer to create music or just play it, but in case I decide to make music, would it be better to choose a MIDI keyboard like this Arturia (or other models) or a keyboard like the PSR-SX 600/700? I am a totally noob about midi keyboards honestly xD
Should I go for Arturia essential 61 or PSR e473? Please reply 🙏 I am a beginner, I want to learn and at the same time and want to play with different sounds and effects .
Hlo bro , i am from india , i want to buy keyboard for church purpose, which is better yamaha psr e473 or i400 , please reply bro , is yamaha still have display related issues
I wondered about the keybed feel on the Essential MkIII. I used to have an OG Keylab, and in comparison the keybeds on the Essential and Essential MkII felt extremely flimsy and toy-like. I'm hoping the MkIII is a significant improvement?
Hi @JeremySee, first of all thank you for your amazing detailed reviews and happy new year ! I want to start learning piano and i'm looking for an 88 keys piano with a budget of 500€. I saw your videos of the best keyboards/pianos for beginners but i'm still confused and don't know what to choose between all the pianos you recommend :the Roland FP-10, the Donner DEP-20, a casio in the budget... (I'm really bad with taking choices) Could you please give me one piano you'd choose if you had a 500€ budget ? Thanks a lot !
Hello, I recently bought the KeyLab 88 MkII based on your review of it and I'm extremely satisfied with it as it combines most of the things I need for learning piano, composing, sampling etc... But I obviously can't travel everywhere with it so I started looking for a more portable keyboard with the features I'm using on the KeyLab. To you, what would be the best 37 key MIDI keyboard for my case of use ? Also I've found out about the Arturia Keystep Pro. Have you tried it ? Asking you because I'm also interested in live playing and step sequencing.
Thanks a lot again for this video. I am hesitating to buy the 88 keys version essential which seems great. But do you know why Arturia did not update this 88 model as they did for 49 and 61 essential version ?

Any updates? How’s it going? Did you end up getting this one?
Also worth noting is that Ableton’s own sounds and effects are amazing too, and can be used more or less standalone once you open the software.
Sure but you still get the analog lab too, which is amazing.
Yes, Arturia keylab essential mk3 is the Best value midi keyboard right now.
Especially, the keyfeel is so good in that price segment.
The software bundle looks very good with such an integrated keyboard to work with win, win product.
videos like your's are invaluable for helping me decide what to buy!

I would like to know what sound library used in time 8:51 (the lady voice) ? It sounds so natural.
I like the sound would you suggest something like this for a really bright 3 year old to learn on?
I'm confused. Are the sounds directly from the keyboard (standalone) or are they from a computer hooked up?
They are from a computer. Midi-keyboards don't produce sounds themselves. You need a daw for these. But everything you need, except the physical computer, comes with the Arturia and can be downloaded right away! Have a good day.

Its funny, they took away keylab pro for the mk2 licenses, now its the basic version, ill also say what i really dont like about keylab is they only give you the 8 knobs that they have chosen to modify, unless you have the corresponding program, i.e pigments, etc
Alesis recital pro or yamaha p45?
Next review Kadence DP01
Please sir
Does anyone know if this is a good option for Hip-hop, R&B, Blues & Rap production?
Another fantastic review. For live playing do you recommend this or a sx yamaha
Yamaha modx6 plus review?
Please reply 🙏
I am a beginner, I want to learn and at the same time and want to play with different sounds and effects .
Hlo bro , i am from india , i want to buy keyboard for church purpose, which is better yamaha psr e473 or i400 , please reply bro , is yamaha still have display related issues
Is there a harp in analog?
Where is that vocal at 0:14 and the violin at 0:24 from? sounds sick
Nice info
I wondered about the keybed feel on the Essential MkIII. I used to have an OG Keylab, and in comparison the keybeds on the Essential and Essential MkII felt extremely flimsy and toy-like. I'm hoping the MkIII is a significant improvement?
Could you please tell us the name of this very nice Vocal/ choir and strings Vst that you were demoing ?
Hi @JeremySee, first of all thank you for your amazing detailed reviews and happy new year ! I want to start learning piano and i'm looking for an 88 keys piano with a budget of 500€. I saw your videos of the best keyboards/pianos for beginners but i'm still confused and don't know what to choose between all the pianos you recommend :the Roland FP-10, the Donner DEP-20, a casio in the budget... (I'm really bad with taking choices) Could you please give me one piano you'd choose if you had a 500€ budget ? Thanks a lot !
They FP- 10 should also be good. I have the FP-30X and it is great, and literally has hundreds of instruments and sounds with the downloadable app.
I play guitar, and i also to learn piano, is this the right keyboard to start? I also want to create midi drum track in DAW without programming
Can i use this seamlessly with the Korg Collection 4 software ?
Thanks
Hello, I recently bought the KeyLab 88 MkII based on your review of it and I'm extremely satisfied with it as it combines most of the things I need for learning piano, composing, sampling etc... But I obviously can't travel everywhere with it so I started looking for a more portable keyboard with the features I'm using on the KeyLab. To you, what would be the best 37 key MIDI keyboard for my case of use ? Also I've found out about the Arturia Keystep Pro. Have you tried it ? Asking you because I'm also interested in live playing and step sequencing.
Does this unit have a stand alone bank
Thanks a lot again for this video. I am hesitating to buy the 88 keys version essential which seems great. But do you know why Arturia did not update this 88 model as they did for 49 and 61 essential version ?
Stay tuned. 😉
@@JeremySeeis there a follow up to this question? Thanks!
Sir i want to know about psr sx600🙏 please help me
Sir response me please
Man… If only I could make my Arturia 61 sound like those pianos. Can’t figure out the software to remove the sound repetition with pressing a key.
Try this: Do not run Analog Lab standalone and Ableton at the same time.
Close Analog Lab standalone, and select Analog Lab from *inside* Ableton.
