Uncanny resemblance! Her expressions in the mime were flawless-she noticed how rapidly Callas’s eyes would dart around as she began each phrase! Brava Jane!
This is a very good acting interpretation, although the lip-synching (I believe to her 1957 EMI recording with Serafin, the finale here abridged) is a bit inaccurate. Jane Seymour gives us probably the best screen impersonation of Callas. A recent Italian miniseries was a total joke, and although Fanny Ardant managed quite a convincing and emotional portrayal in CALLAS FOREVER, the film itself was such an indulgent, ridiculous, grotesque parody that as a work it belongs in the garbage!
l'unica attrice decente che ho visto interpretare fi9n ora la callas, dotata di ottiam espressività e tra l'altro molto simile anche , brava ha colto credo l'animo della callas sulla scena
I love Jane Seymour! And she did really well capturing Callas' hands. But sadly not her facial expressions or body movements. But, who could? Callas was one of a kind!!
Exactly correct....Callas's voice was unmatchable...and her sharp grecian facial features and dark eyes and hair would be very difficult to find a match for.. though obviously not an exact resemblance Sophia Loren might be a more closer resemblance facially..
@@Maguirearch The other one I thought could have done a good job of it, back in the day, was Anne Bancroft. Particularly since she even looked a little like Callas.

Qué realismo! Verdaderamente... asombroso. Parecido, imitación de los gestos... genial.
It never twigged with me that a biopic film about Callas was ever made...!!...

Caro Antonio, sono totalmente d'accordo con te, un lavoro primoroso. un grande abbraccio di Brasile.=)
@OzanDgr This is taken from the studio recording she made of this opera in 1957/58
though it's an abridged version that is featured in the video.
Jane Seymour per questa interpretazione vinse l'Emmy Award infatti...

@@Scoubidou-if1of How is this "fake", other than the fact that it's just a movie? All movies are "fake".
