The round pans are with the holes in the center is called shabushabu nabe. One of the most popular hot pot cuisine in Japan. The wooden table with glass top is antique hibachi table. The folding picture34;58 is called Byoubu. You should be very careful because some are so valuable and found outside of Japan. The fablic looks table cloth 46;18 is old kimono belt.I was wondering how the owner got so many of things, and I understand when I read the newspaper16;16.

Me again. 4:43 Edge banding iron, for woodworking like veneer, the heat gun is for woodworking as well, 8:29 hand coloured prints done for the western market. 10:39 a display table, you put your best peice in it and use the top for the tea ceremony, the marble top may be for it,see if it fits. 32:46 vintage ESSO ashtray, they were a petrol company, the Tiger was a trade mark. I love how enthusiastic you are with your unboxing. All the stuff need a proper apraisal by an expert, you could be sitting on a fortune.

The porcelain that looks like it has little pieces of rice in it is called Rice China. Rice is actually pressed into the clay prior to being fired. It burns off and leaves the impression. I don't know the value, but it is collectible to those who love blue/white. Sorry that I couldn't give you the time stamp. My husband distracted me and I forgot it. Hi from The Heart of Dixie.

The framed "newspaper article" (16:16) is the obituary or retirement of the military person. I'm thinking maybe this unit is the pack up of when his widow moved out of her home. That's the reason for the furniture, kitchen, china, art, but there isn't clothing, jewelry, bath items, etc.

Search imari plate, majong set and Chinese hot-pot or boiling pot (you have two from this unit). I'm not sure, but I believe that copper lined table is a humidor for keeping tobacco fresh. Humidors now have special seals and gauges to monitor the moisture levels more accurately and consistently, but antiques did not. Without actually seeing it, I can't say for sure. You may want to have some of the flow blue and Asian pottery appraised. Also, I think the symbol on the bottom of that glass is an L for Libby.

Wade, you have to take all the asian plates and china plus the screens and art work to a specialist in those things and have them appraised, don't rely on ebay for an idea, you might even be able to sell that stuff there for much more than you can get on ebay unless you find some high roller collectors, bt I have a strong feeling many f those pieces are of very good value. Also, some of those cabinetes need to be examined and appraised as well. There are some real treasures in that unit, could be small treasures but could also be big ones too.

@6:21 I’m not 100% positive but the bundt pan looking dish is used for something called hot pot. I learned about them because I watch Mike Chen’s channel “Simply Dumpling”. It one of his favorite dishes. There is a heat source under it and a broth inside the pan part. The broth is boiling hot and you can use it to cook thin slices of meat and vegetables. Reminds of a cross between Korean bbq and fondue. Watch some of Mike’s videos to find out more. The pot @14:31, sitting on the shelf, looks the same. Only a fancier version of one.
@13:26 I think those little triangles are used to rest chopsticks on. Don’t quote me...lol
@53:21 the price on the brass stand is 1000 yen. I googled it- $8.92 American 🤷‍♀️.
@54:29 you were discussing about the possibility of them working for Fenell but I think that was his last name. I’ve seen that name on a few items in the storage unit. I believe that he was possibly stationed in Japan with the military. He may have married there/retired there and then they came back home together. Someone mentioned not seeing any personal items because she may have downsized after his passing. I know there was military service because I saw a name tag and “fruit salad” (it’s what they call the colorful bars they wear over the left pocket).

Former Navy man, antique collector. Looks like a chaffing dish with the Chinese zodiac calendar on it. Little fuel can goes under it, in that opening.
