I would have to agree. At his best I think he would have beaten even Roger, Novak, or Rafa. He was definitely in their league, regardless of any difference in number of grand slam wins.
One thing many "this era" fans fail to realize is with the big 3, who else is there? No one. Sampras dominated by himself for ten years. The closest anyone got in slams was Agassi with only 7. In this current era it's mainly 3 players neck and neck but with sampras' era every other player was easily capable of winning slams, being number 1 and winning multiple slams if Sampras wasn't playing. So the difference between now and then is that Sampras legitimately dominated the entire field whereas now it's just 3 guys and then NO ONE ELSE to compete with
I really wish Pete came along later and was in his prime during the Rafa/Novak/Fed era. At his best I think he might have been the top dog even against those 3, but that's just me. Would have been amazing to watch, undoubtedly!
Yes, but only if they would have kept the fast surfaces. They slowed it down because there was to many aces and service winners. By doing so and combining with better rackets, they ruined the entire serve and volley strategy for a long time.
@@MrClebophd Other than the grass at Wimbledon, have they changed clay or hard court courts? I was not aware that they made any major changes to concrete or clay.
If you like the video, I would appreciate a subscription. Have fun watching.
Best serve and smash player of all times.
Most raw athleticism we’ve had in the sport. That’s why he played so aggressive
I always enjoyed watching him
Imagine what he could have achieved, if he played nearly a decade longer like Federer.

thank you
For those who don't know Sampras was the best ever player who touched a racket. Federer's IDOL

This is by far the best shot in tennis ever.
Pete was damn good at him.
He is not only the King of Jump, he is one of the best athletes that picked up these tennis rackets. Such an awesome player with a great character.
What a collection! Just gr8!
?
once he jumps up, game blows up
pistol pete!
It seems the smashes land before the service line. Nowadays people send it to baseline and so a lot of them come back. What do you guys think 🤔

Genial
Yes 😇
One of the best strong arses in male tennis
Innecesarios y provocadores saltos. El juego de Sampras siempre fue aburrido.
Oh My Goodness! Lea Michele Sarfati
I never seen a tennis player smashes the ball like a volleyball player
Its not a matter of if Pete's dunk is best in the game....He is the ONLY one as far as i know.
I'm sure you don't think that's what matters to you
he would’ve become a good badminton player too
Looks like a badminton player
