    Dude I really appreciated when you said to ask yourself what you want out of that session. That's helped me a lot this week

      I find being really clear about that helps to define your goals and what you want out of bass playing. It’s quite deep but it does help!

    I love Dan's abilities not only is he my favorite Bass player ever and I'm 64 years old growing up with Led Zep n Ol school Motown plus my brother has played Bass with Bo Diddly n Buddy Miles and Buddy Guy etc for over 50 years he's played Bass. Dan is the best Bassist I've ever seen or heard and to be learning from Dan is a honor just to play some of his style n groove is cool. Thanks always.

    Hey Dan :) I don't know if anybody else requested this but I was the guy who said that I have 5-10 mins a day to practice and would love some 5 mins practice ideas and I am really really thankful that you chose to make this video. This is exactly what I need. Cheers man! Thank you :)

      @@OnlineBassCourses that would be great. Since i have a little son, I am no longer the master of my time 😅 so these will come in handy until he is ready to practice with me.

    I think if a guy commits to a minimum of 5 minutes a day is of great value because the 5 minute session usually turns, naturally, into 10, 20 or more. And, if you are enjoying yourself, an hour can go by real fast.

    • @OnlineBassCourses
      @OnlineBassCourses  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly.

      For me I don't have to enjoy myself, sometimes when I am frustrated at my dogshit playing an hour can go by playing the damn thing that didn't want to pull off and then finally it cames out haha

      Very well said. Just committing to picking it up daily can lead to any sort of progress that adds up over time

    Really enjoyed this video, thanks! I'm finally (after many years of noodling) able to spend a couple hours a day practicing and playing and am looking for ways to make that time as effective as possible. This is a big help!

    Thanks, Dan! Great video! By the way, I REALLY REALLY want to know how you achieved the slapping tone on stingray bass in your opening solo. The thumbing sound is not aggressive at all (some might say it's dead) which is classic and funky. It's very Louis Johnson and Bernard feeling

    • @OnlineBassCourses
      @OnlineBassCourses  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Well, my slap technique is kind of old school. Those are the players I really like. But this bass has Elites ground wound strings. It’s probably that…

    I recommend practicing while your on the Toilet if you’ve only got 5 minutes 🤩 must sanitize instrument afterwards but some of my best work has come from my toilet sessions 🤘
