      well, got to be honest, before I took MBTI test and only reading what the 16 personalities were... I thought I would be an INFJ.... but after I took my test, it's INTJ haha...

    This was an awesome conversation to watch and really insightful when I compare it to some interactions I've had with INFJs. I also really like Joyce's depiction of the struggle with feeling like you have to distort yourself in order to fit into "society's bubble" and acknowledgement that doing this too much can prevent your real soulmates from being able to connect with you. I know for me, being able to control that tool properly, instead of letting the tool control me, was a growth sign for myself.

      @@justcallmejon22 I will say the thing that helped the most was making sure you have a core group of people that you trust and accept you, flaws and all, to talk with when you need to decompress. Working my way up the ladder starting at the bottom rung of "customer service rep" was a struggle and I leaned a lot more than I realized on some key relationships to just help remind me that I'm not crazy when I worked through some of these "client" issues, but also helped to hold me accountable if I went a little too logical with some people and came off like an jerk. My ENTP friend and I started in the same area before he moved off on a different life path and I remember a lot of times when he would basically say to me, "You aren't wrong. You just said it like an asshole," to which my only real reply would usually be, "You know what? Fair," which helped me to adjust my messaging skills. 😆

    I almost couldn't recognize you here Jon. Allowing momma SE to take control of this conversation really pays off! I had fun watching the entire exchanges!! Lol! Though I can feel how exactly Joyce can rattle with some of your out of this world type of questions. Your abrupt and successive inquiries drove her to be lost with some of her responses in between which is completely understandable. INFJs as I am myself excel more with the writing, we ace at self monologues but we do suck with the dialogues some of the time. Hate interviews!! But it does not imply that INTJs are more smarter than the INFJs or vice versa. As logicians you tend to be critical and try to extract justification at everything that comes within your senses whilst the INFJs will remain as idealists who will always tend to defend reasons and try harder at understanding patterns eventually drawing altruistic responses whenever possible. We can't be simultaneous sometimes, but we can surely be spontaneous most of the time. Thanks for creating this content! You got a SUB! 😉

    As an INFJ I had to stop watching after a few minutes because it got too uncomfortable. And I wonder why is it that INTJs catch a special interest for us and then go out of their way to make us uncomfortable? I recognize this vibe from a past friendship that was significant to me. We could have had love, because I feel like we really understood each other on a level that other people don't... However he always made me so uncomfortable with kind of edgy comments, putting me on the spot. And he never really did this with other people, with them he didn't really interact much. As an INFJ I need more safety and explicit love/care

    • @NavesNiche
      @NavesNiche ปีที่แล้ว +1

      INFJs are truly wise and are able to see some of the bigger picture that's beyond their ego. That's why they're amazing and are not fighting to say childish egoic things like: "we're the better NI doms"

    • @justcallmejon22
      @justcallmejon22  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It sounds like you had negative experience with INTJs and hopefully I can shed light on your questions. I do want to point out that the awkwardness of the conversation was by design and we both agreed to keep it that way.
      In regards to your question about INTJs putting INFJs on the spot by asking 'edgy' comments, I recommend looking it at from a different prespective. INTJs will say things or do things that's on our mind, not to get an emotion out of you but out of pure curiousity. Because INFJs have Fe, it might sound like we're trying to make you uncomfortable, but for us, we're just trying to find an answer and in order to get the correct answer, we'll ask it in a way that can be misunderstood. INFJs feeling too deeply is not an issue if you can laugh at yourself, it you can't find humor then it makes sense for a person to get offended. INTJs have always been misunderstood (as much as INFJs) but we find humor in it after a while because we realize that we can't change anything outside of ourselves.
      So the next time you deal with an INTJ and the INTJ asks you 'edgy' questions, ask yourself whether the INTJ is just curious, because I'm sure that's the answer 90% of the time.

      @@justcallmejon22 This exchange stood out to me. As an INFJ, I watched the entire video and didn't feel any sense of you trying to make her uncomfortable. So I guess a lot of it comes down to perception, past experience and where we fall on the sensitivity spectrum (which isn't inherently good or bad).
      That said, I often get the same "uncomfortable" feeling whenever I'm around certain people who frequently turn out to be ENTJs (confirmation bias?), so maybe everyone has a type they don't "vibe" with. But I think there's something to be said for understanding where the other person is coming from because they see the world differently. Intention is important. It's easy for me to think an ENTJ is rude because I would never say it like that unless I was trying to hurt someone. But to them, that's just how they naturally "get to the point" and talk. If they actually wanted to hurt someone, it'd probably be 10x more severe sounding. So everything is relative, but our perception becomes our reality. I've been trying to come to terms with or better utilize my own sensitivity, which is both a gift and a curse. I can't expect others to match my wavelength, just like I can't force myself to be different either. But I think understanding the other side can help improve my perceptions of people/situations, and also opens up the potential for more meaningful interactions. Seems like the best option, which is why conversations like this are so important. You've been feeding us a lot of Ni dom content lately and I am here for it.
      In a similar vein, I've also been struggling with the question of "why are we so misunderstood?" This is obviously a subjective feeling, though valid. I wonder if it just comes down to communication and language. Ex. Would it be easier for Sensors to understand me if I used real world metaphors to explain my abstract thoughts? Is it worth it or should I stick to finding people similar to me in thinking? Can you really force something like connection? Am I not being authentic/tailored enough to find the right people who are rare to begin with? Honestly, I don't know. These are questions that continue to plague me. 😂

    It's so fun to watch Ni doms fight. It always boils down to "thinking" vs. "feeling." And, as we all know, the "thinking and sensing types rule the world AS THEY don't value fee fees (so inefficient at getting logical, thinking results). SO, there is no question the INTJ will always, always believe they are superior to INFJs because "they are broken that way." AND the funny part is = that INFJs can totally understand all about the INTJ...BUT...not the other way around (not at all)...

    Short story: I love love infj. Long story: thanksgiving dinner with an infj and her friends. (I have no friends) I tried a garden that year and had success with Cinderella pumpkin which are great for pies so I decided I’d make my first cheesecake/pumpkin cheesecake and homemade red bell pepper(red peps were poppin) Mac n cheese…also never made it before. Infj was obviously (yo me) concerned that I’d probably poison everyone and ruin the festivities? But I wound up getting ducked up, as one does pre thanksgiving, and hwipping together thee most bomb ass cheesecake the night before (obviously have to chill it overnight) and in a hungover stupor worked out a cheese sauce where the peppers were the main show, noodles cooked perfectly…We’re good under pressure? I just wanted to remember that memory 😅 But infj had no comment as I think she was actually pissed that I could toss that together do wrll, without some kind of internal struggle lol. Whst she didn’t know is that I’d thought about that cheesecake probably even before I planted the pumpkin seeds and the alcohol let me get out of my own way and create the thing :)
