Did 5 years architecture. Had a good time during the degree but once got job, it was horrendous. So then gave up and sat jobless for a while and then gave up on architecture.. but then my mother told me to do yoga for the sake of peace and jazz and now I am yoga teacher myself. Then came in the guilt of spending 5 years doing architecture so decided to start a small business of handmade home decor products 🥹🥹 thank you for existing!!! ❤️

Totally relatable!!! If your job makes you anxious, maybe the problem is not you but the job itself!!

Feel sorry for you! Architecture is a fantastic career...I spent 2 years as a licensed architect and only retired because the market collapsed.

PLEASE continue with telling us more about your independent journey to owning a small business. Thinking of becoming a freelance designer after struggles of getting into the industry. I truly love hearing your story. It is both truly inspiring and educational for the thinks to look out for. Want to hear the technical side a little more if your okay with sharing that.
Thank you for calm vid too, love these vibes!

I'm really struggling with the art degree I'm studying at the moment and I'm worried I'd need to do it my whole life. And after watching this video it's made me realize that I don't need to stick with my degree career my whole life. I love your art. Thank you so much for being such an inspiration 💕

For the pomade you can spray some setting spray & also store it upside down so that it doesn’t get too dry 🙂

I love this!! I’m so excited for you, your journey is just beginning :) I’d love to hear more about the technical side and why you registered your business as a corporation and not as just “Grumpy Kids Studio”? I’m so excited for the next video. Honestly, you could’ve kept talking, I was so invested 😂

definitely look into the pros and cons of an incorporation vs a sole proprietorship! incorporating is more paperwork/ initial cost, but will in the long run protect your and your assets, incur liabilities instead of you and the tax is also way lower

Thank you so much for sharing 💛
I’ve started dabbling in pottery and am at the stage that I am considering buying myself a kiln/wheel/setting up a tiny balcony ‘studio’. It has been super inspiring and helpful to listen to your story ☺️
I was wondering if you could also cover the things that you needed and main considerations when you were first starting out with wheel throwing in your garden?
Mainly if you have any tips or advice with equipment/tools for a beginner? How you kept your all your equipment and tools protected/well maintained outdoors, and how you stored them? And how you went about with the cleaning/plumbing (bucket system, clay catcher etc)?
    Thank you 😘

this is so inspiring to watch! cute to see your mom gardening in the background too :)
it’s interesting to hear about your journey and the decisions that led you to where you are now. i’m currently at the point where i don’t want to be working for somebody else, but can’t switch to being a full time potter yet. i’ve taken a beginner’s wheel throwing class recently and FELL IN LOVE with pottery. my newfound goal is to buy a wheel (and eventually a kiln) and build up to doing pottery full time next year. i’m going to do drop-ins at the pottery studio to practice when i can. my sister and i just got our corporation approved, so it’s already in the works!!!
would love to hear more about how you stay motivated to post on social media daily, how you built the company up enough to employ your assistants, the lessons you learned about shipping/packaging, and also your favourite pottery tools + tips you would give to beginner potters!!! hope to see part 2 soon (ooh how about doing a q&a?!) 💓✨

Hi Garbo! Thank you so much for sharing your story and being sooo helpful! Would you be able to share how/ what resource you went to learn more about packaging, shipping, steps/ technicalities of starting, registering a business and how you knew the steps to how to glaze and etc?
And is there a start up cost/ cost estimate we should aim to have before starting pottery business?
I hope my question makes sense! Would love to hear more. Thank you!
