- This is the quickview of the RC4WD Genius Sem Fronteira 2.2" tires... Or are they Sem Limites? WHO KNOWS. To quote the description at Amain, "RC4WD Genius Sem Fronteira 2.2 Scale Tires are officially licensed Genius Sem Limites 2 tires". Umm. Okay. Who do we know for sure? They're tall. They're skinny. probably the only thing you can buy from RC4WD...tires. A very nice tire ...really like how it looks. That would be a good choice for the new Vanquish.
We get the same kinda drifts in Colorado just white, gotta love a rc4wd tire and they look great on Yella. Thanks for sharing.
They're 1.9 Baja Claw TTCs, cut/shut to 2.2id, with cut treads and sanded sidewalls/ribbing...
..Except you don't have to buy two sets just to spend several hours splice-n'-dicin' them together!
I love it.. They don't perform FOR you; they simply follow your lead, and perform to the best of YOUR ability. :D
If I didn't already have Rover EXs, I'd probably be handing RC4WD $64 right now.

Incidentally, the RC4WD Flashpoint is essentially a 4.19x1.9 version of the Genius.
Slightly different tread pattern, and a little fatter, but still in X2SS.
My eyes itch just looking at the pollen drifts.

Those would look pretty cool on that H10 Optic.
LP Tusks (or any 5.25" 2.2) are what this should have come with in the box. If Vanquish had put out a 2.2 LP with this, most of the other shortcomings would have been forgiven. By me at least. The proportions suddenly look right.

Are Geniuses the smart choice? Just might be. Around these parts we get cottonwood seeds, which are white and fluffy and cover everything just like snow. No bleach smell, though.
Not my style of tire, but the performance is really good. They get 7th place, above the 4.75 Megalithics by just 0.1 points. Imagine them with 3d printed inserts...
I really like their 1.0 Scramblers um they work really good but they don't have a whole lot of side look they do have lugs but sometimes I feel like that smooth sidewall if you cut your tire down hard like lay it down it will pick you up You know The tires Or just insane good
Those tires seem fantastic. I am hesitant to buy RC4WD since the 1 set of tires I have (2.2 mud slingers) have about 9 hole punctures in them just from trailing. They seem too thin (seem to be X2SS). That tire size is perfect for 1/8 scale rigs! Trail duty with 1/8 scale would be great! Put 'em on the Emo! Slaying the hill climbs!
well...the supersoft rubber is a tradeoff to durability 🤷♂
my gold dig box isn't engage very smoothly, it will not cog into the rear of the case then it flexs the dig servo mount and the servo gets hot. my truck doesn't have any overdrive any more,does it need overdrive to make it engage
Take the three screws out of the back of the case and make sure they're not too long, and interfering with engagement. You can also squirt a little dry lube in there (moly or wax) to help engagement. This is the price of a $30 Vanquish clone-- quality control... isn't.
Can you stiffin your chassis more to keep everything lined up and meshing more smoothly?
Or try a different servo for the dig. More potent.
Try a custom built servo mount if need be..
@JohnCammarota I have a dspower 15kg short case servo. The gold 3gear is mounted in a redcat ascent, which I made an adapter out of wood to raise,move driver side and forward. It is kind of flimsy, and it teeters a few mm fore and aft. I know I need a 3d printed adapter or delrin or aluminum or a wood riser and a metal plate to move it forward and over. It's fighting the rear upper links,front upper links. It is a 4link front, SOA with the gen9's. It's my first 1/10th scale crawler and I got fooled by several youtubers who said it was great before it was released, and by the time it was released I thought it was the best thing for the money and I bought it 30 minutes after it was available. It is a sad thing cause I was 17, and I pulled weeds and did yard work for friends all AZ summer long for the money. But it being the only 1/10 crawler I have, I know no different in performance

Could you do a review of RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler 1.9s, please? I always liked the look of those but I didn't want worse performance than my previous setup (Hyrax) on my Element. Running Tusks now and love them. I saw one video where the Wranglers looked quite skinny, too so was put off them. Anyway you seem to like the the compound of these tyres, so got me thinking Wranglers could be good for my second rig. Thanks for all the vids.
Did you use auto tune when you said Genius @ 8.45..?
I barely know how to use the Limiter tool. Auto tune? That's just witchcraft

You never have to get up! And Yella is a shape for self-righting.
Have you tried running the fronts in reverse ?. Have you seen the 1:1 versions ?check Genius tires out they are crazy.
How does it pair up with a 2.2 cut canyon?
Canyons are great and all (and I've still yet to test mine on ReVolt 3D inserts,) but as good as S1 is, it's simply not X2SS. Canyon certainly more versatile, but the pure drive of these is waaaayyy up there.
So I understand correctly. The canyon trail is more better for a trail rig and these seem better for pure drive crawling up steep rocks and doing what you refer to as THE THING?
@@JC-Nor-Cal yeah. Like, putting these on a TRX-4 High Trail would be ludicrous. But the 2.2 Canyon Trail was doing the LP thing before everyone else, and will be right at home on a whole bunch of different builds.
curious why vent on the tread where it sucks up dirt and water instead of on the inside tire wall with only one hole?

Yep. Stuff is gonna get into the tire no matter what. Holes in the center of the carcass let that stuff out. Tires with just sidewall holes will be sandbags or water balloons in fairly short order.

Well, Extreme route only makes 2 tires, and one of them is 6" tall. There's a whole bunch of X2SS out there.

@@Jnichols77 I think they were both stuck to the packaging just as badly. similar in compound. There's just a little something extra in the Extreme Route. Something that feels... illegal. Some sort of substance.

Ruptures vs Tusks?
Tusks by virtue of economics. The Rupture comes in two sizes: the ~5" 1.9, and the MASSIVE 5.75" 2.2. I run my 2.2" on a 14" WB 4WS with Supershafty axles and custom parts throughout. The 1.9s are all but relegated to buggies or truggies-- they're too big for rigs that run Class 2, and too small for rigs that run 5.25" LP 2.2s.
Meanwhile, the Tusk comes in 3.93, 4.19, 4.75, 5.25, and 5.75 (as well as 1.0, 1.3, and 2.9 wheel versions) so odds are, whatever your rig is, there's a Tusk for it. It's an extremely versatile tire. That said, on the right rig, the Rupture is hard to beat. They just don't fit many rigs.
How would you sat this Chassis compares to the VRD Carbon (kit), in terms of capability
The advantage the VRD would have is the VFD-- it puts the weight about as absolutely low as you can get it. In terms of geo and capability, this would be right there with a VRD without much issue. VRD just gievs you the convenience of coming in one box. I'd put Yella up against a VRD any day.
