Wow!! What a GORGEOUS, detailed specimen! I am shocked at how huge and in great condition it is! I cannot wait to see it all together and prepared on museum quality! What a BEAUTIFUL display this will be! This is a CAREER making piece, no doubt. Congratulations man! I am SO jealous! What a fun life you lead! Bravo!! 👏👏👏🥇🥇🥇🥇
It’s really great that Mike let us film that ! What a wonderful thing to see , a find of a life time for Mike ! I’m glad I could help him with the work for just a day , but it was awesome
A miracle. Wonder .😍 Unbelievable..... Indeed a huge fragment and yet nicely preserved . A specimen straight to the museum. Congratulations 👏 and best regards WT 👋
I think they are beautiful as well. Some people don’t like them and I find that hard to believe . The intricate preservation of them is quite outstanding
An amazing fossil find, probably the best find in many a year. There's a huge amount of work to be done, I've no idea how you're going to display it but good luck!
It’s a great tide when your visiting For your Fossil walk in November! I will show you precisely how to spot Crinoid fragments in the mudslides! Mike @mikeharrisonfossils on Instagram is just working so hard putting that “ Jurassic Coast Jigsaw” of a fossil find back together again ! He is just so skilfully doing this fossil preparation.
Probably a very obvious suggestion (to everyone but me), couldn't the pieces be numbered for reference when putting slabs back togeather? Or is the material too wet?
Mike had some colour dot coding on the pieces . He has amazed me how he has fitted it back together so far . Numbering for reference is always a good habit to get into as well
Great stuff, I was lucky 🍀 enough to get to help for a day with the work . Filming the Crinoid has been really good fun . It’s not properly finished yet . So maybe Mike will display it in the Lyme Regis Museum at some point , along with his 5 feet 👣 Ichthyosaur skull that is there also he found ! I have an Ichthyosaur skull in the Lyme Regis Museum also but that’s just over one foot 🦶 😁
This crinoid plate is absolutely stunning! I know he has permission to dig it out from the National Trust but once it’s complete will he have to donate it to the Museum or other society?
It’s an amazing fossil find . Mike is just working so hard still to completely piece it back together again ! So maybe it will end up in a museum. Mike has fossils around the world in museums. In the Lyme Regis Museum he has a 5ft Ichthyosaur skull and paddle and huge huge back bones

Hi guys,I've been fossiling in charmouth since 1979,found some incredible fossils mainly iron pyrite but nothing on that scale.incredable.
It’s about the time I really started fossil hunting in a more dedicated way - 1979! It’s been fun finding the iron pyrite ammonites like you have . 🙌
An absolutely fantastic find. It’s beautiful. Respect for all the work you’ve put into this.
Thanks 🙏 for your comments

@Lyme Regis Fossils Ah, and probably the best ref is the one mentioned in the vid - photoing the slabs in situ 📷 🧩
Camera phones are so handy . I missed out with having one back in the day , as they didn’t have cameras then 🙌.
Honestly, that is the most spectacular thing. Can I buy tickets to see it??
