i used to see lars kicking around SF at shows and once in the Westfield Center bathroom of all places. Super sincere and nice. a real sweet guy. tim and matt are the same way. way humble and low key. makes a great band that much greater...
Lars gave me and my friend Jim A BEER at Warped 1996 or 98? We worshiped Rancid and he was the first person I ever met that I just couldn't contain my excitement. Super cool guy, he knew how much he and Tim meant to us and he mustve spent a half hour with us, behind the buses, away from all the crowds. He introduced us to Chino from Deftones and told us to go buy the Cadillac Tramps album because he said it change his life. I didn't dig the album but I've bought ever Rancid album ever and theyre one of the best, most underrated bands ever. Better than the Ramones & The Clash, in my opinion. The Clash are phenomenal but they have maybe 25 songs I love, Rancid has 200+ songs I love!
tipical Lars checking out crotches at the cementary haha. This is one of the best interviews ever Lars is so awesome, and it hits agreat subject for punks honoring The Ramones, cause even if your not a Ramones fan you gotta love em for the road they paved
@TheNewMusicNetwork Yeah, I know my history. Thanks. But it IS history.. HB, as well as other areas are much different in terms of music related crews in 2011. In that department, Lars has nothing to fear, but he wasn't putting up a front in this video anyhow.
@TheNewMusicNetwork Case closed? Cute. Don't know what you're on about MY "cholo-billy scene", but that was really hilarious. Either way, you're right about one thing - there is definitely a large skinhead/punk scene in HB/OC/LA. Next time you see Rancid live here with the Adolescents & TSOL opening for them again, I guess we'll see "wannabe tough guy" Lars not last a second...right? Because that's like totally what has happened before...................right...............? Case closed :)
Indestructible wasn't the amazing of a CD at all. It was alright i guess. The clash were way better than the ramones. The clash could actually play they their instruments

Gotta disagree with lars. The sex pistols were already a band before they even heard of the ramones and the clash formed after seeing the pistols.

Danny says we gotta go. Gotta go to idaho, but we can't go surfing cause it's twenty below.
IrishDroog, I know Rancid collaborated with a homophobic artist, but theyre not homophobic themselves.
actual flow of conversation
"(awful lyrics)"
