I really like my Ultimate Ghostface. I just took a to scale cellphone and I think he looks great. My only 2 issues are with the cloak itself. I think its too short - the retro cloth and the actual ghostface costume reaches the ankles at least, whereas this one only goes a little under the knees. My second issue is that it doesn't even look like a cloak - the way the hood goes on him and with how tight it is around his head, it looks more like a onesie or a hoodie. But these are just nitpicks - its a great figure. My fav is definitely the first. They're all good (aside from 3) but no1 is always gonna be the best.
@The man in the mask haha, I know what you mean. I did think about taking the robe of the retro and customising it on the Ultimate. However I am not great at customising lol and also wouldn't want to ruin my retro cloth. Love that figure

Idk, maybe it's movie accurate but it seems like his shoes are super wide. It looks a little weird from some angles. Aside from that, the figure is honestly perfect. Never got a chance to pick up the original and was overjoyed when this one was re-released

This isn’t ghostface from scream, it’s just based on the mask because neca couldn’t get the rights to Scream! Which is why he has some odd accessories!

@@colerider2544 this is how Dead by Daylight got to use him too, the killers identity is unique to Dead by Daylight but the mask is copyrighted to Funworld. Infact, anytime a Scream movie is made, they need to get permission to use the mask again, because it's not their mask to use. Funworld created the mask and it was available to buy in stores before the movie was in production. Wes Craven wanted a mask that anybody could go to the store and buy.

Favorite scream is the second. This figure is great I like how the costume is a little shorter so we can see the detail they put into the legs. The glow mask is really bright and shows up nicely with your new camera. Really enjoyed the review thanks as always Spot.

I'm really enjoying the new backdrop, always liked the blue one but too many reviewers use blue or white backgrounds, though I get the advantages of both, it is a bit monotonous to see basically every reviewer using those colors. It's nice to freshen it up with the purple.

Picked this up at Target and was really surprised at how much fun it was to mess with. Not even a huge fan of Scream, but I like that I could use this in a Halloween display. The rotted face and scythe make this figure for me.

I do like the look of the figure. The decision to go with an entirely soft-goods robe instead of the half plastic and half soft-goods like they did on the Scream 4 figures was a smart one. I think it looks a lot better that way. Love the mask sculpt too. But the fact that it's not from the movies is a huge bummer. Its almost like a quasi-version.

With all these killer accessories that these figures get idk why no figure company has ever released “Victims” as in figures that can be co-displayed with the killers. If they would release figures that have like stab wounds, chopped limbs, bloody parts etc. they would sell out so fast. I’ve always wanted to display my killer figures like mid kill. Just a thought
No company has done it because it's a niche market. Or at least, that's why NECA themselves don't do it. Somebody asked them if they would ever consider it, and they said "no" for that reason. They don't believe that figures like that would "sell out so fast".

great detailed review, i just got this yesterday, the last one available in my local hobby shop, very cool, I just wish it had a knife without blood, at least 1, I love that it comes with 4 masks, the glow in the dark is awesome, I hope they do something similar with the krampus figure that is supposed to be coming out at the end of the year, maybe 1 face that has the movie santa face and a few other alt ones, that would be the first time to unveil what he was supposed to look like

The stab mask is the selling point for me it works so well with the black cloak, I always wondered if Matthew Lillards character somehow survived would he use his original mask? Would it look like the “zombie” mask? Who knows

I've bought 2 ultimate ghostface and both of them the handle on the scythe have broken. The handles are a separate piece they've sculpted and put on the tiniest peg and if its placed in his hand if by any chance has to be rotated it will break. I learned that twice. But I glued it back on and it's fine. Just be careful with yours. I feel dumb telling you this , but would want to spare you that if at all possible. Great review.

I got the figure today but I just have one General open question at what point does a killer. In the costume have the zombie mask as it's called and used the sickle. I mean I got the original Scream an the 3 an 4 an fith movie. I listened to all the audio commentaries and watched the bonus features. Nowhere in any of that does it mention a zombie looking mask or a sickle. Is that a reference to the costume in the first movie father death. I am just wondering where that idea of sickle and zombie mask came from. Because it really doesn't show a good image of the father death costume in the movie. Along with it not mentioned ever in the said audio commentaries or bonus features.
So there's a cut scene from Scream 4 when they're having the barn party where apparently Ghostface was to wear a Zombie cracked mask and wielding a sickle for one reason or another that scene was never included but I guess NECA must have been gotten an idea of what masks were going to be used at the time that they produced this figure. @@TheReviewSpot Yea I get any and all notifications and also recommendations and things for premieres. Thanks so it was from a 5 Second deal in a movie makes. Sense but they really need to explain some of this sometimes on the packaging. Because I automatically got the glow in the dark one from Stab. But that's because it actually is really shown so you see it in the movies. I mean it's nice to put that stuff in because it's shown in the movie but it'll be. Nice to explain some of these random 5 Second deal. Accessories they may include so people know in case someone misses it because it's only a couple seconds. Because I probably seen it in the deleted scenes for Scream 4 but it is so quick I miss the mask and sickle part. Because it's just someone screaming and running you really can't get a good look at it. Because nowhere we're in the audio commentary does Wes Craven. Mention it but he did mention outside from one of the hospital scenes. Because they filmed in Detroit a cop came up to him and asked if they were doing some gun shots. Then he said no and the cop said okay thank you sir and just walked away like it was a normal gunshot in Detroit.

I'm actually on my second one of this figure. the first one I picked up the knee joint ended up snapping in half when I tried to bend it. thankfully the target I bought it from had another so I took it back and exchanged it. and then when I tried the knee on the second figure it also had a very stiff joint so I just said screw it and left that knee alone to keep from breaking it.

I just got my ultimate ghostface, the hands fall out easly and the balljoint for the head is weird for a neca figure, and the feet are like the retro ghostface which isn't a good thing since I can't display his legs straight

I just picked up a Ghostface today from Target. First one I have seen and only one on the shelf. His feet wouldn't allow me to stand him up straight. He wanted to lean back. I placed his feet flat on a table and pressed my fingers down and he had a major tilt backwards. I took a blow-dryer to him and he seems to be standing, for now. I'm scared to do much with him. His arms are also hard to pose but I'll try again after seeing your review, the cloth did seem to restrict him. I wish the cloak had a bit more "weight" to it so it would drape the figure better, like a real garment. Cool figure however. He just seems awkward compared to the other Neca

I really like my Ultimate Ghostface. I just took a to scale cellphone and I think he looks great. My only 2 issues are with the cloak itself. I think its too short - the retro cloth and the actual ghostface costume reaches the ankles at least, whereas this one only goes a little under the knees. My second issue is that it doesn't even look like a cloak - the way the hood goes on him and with how tight it is around his head, it looks more like a onesie or a hoodie. But these are just nitpicks - its a great figure. My fav is definitely the first. They're all good (aside from 3) but no1 is always gonna be the best.

@The man in the mask yeah, the material on the retro cloth is fantastic. Honestly, my only flaw with the retro cloth is that ghostface seems to have clown shoes? Idk, maybe it's movie accurate but it seems like his shoes are super wide. It looks a little weird from some angles. Aside from that, the figure is honestly perfect. Never got a chance to pick up the original and was overjoyed when this one was re-released

@@colerider2544 this is how Dead by Daylight got to use him too, the killers identity is unique to Dead by Daylight but the mask is copyrighted to Funworld.
Infact, anytime a Scream movie is made, they need to get permission to use the mask again, because it's not their mask to use. Funworld created the mask and it was available to buy in stores before the movie was in production. Wes Craven wanted a mask that anybody could go to the store and buy.

Favorite scream is the second. This figure is great I like how the costume is a little shorter so we can see the detail they put into the legs. The glow mask is really bright and shows up nicely with your new camera. Really enjoyed the review thanks as always Spot.

I'm really enjoying the new backdrop, always liked the blue one but too many reviewers use blue or white backgrounds, though I get the advantages of both, it is a bit monotonous to see basically every reviewer using those colors. It's nice to freshen it up with the purple.

Picked this up at Target and was really surprised at how much fun it was to mess with. Not even a huge fan of Scream, but I like that I could use this in a Halloween display. The rotted face and scythe make this figure for me.

You could easily say this is the Ghostface killer from Scream, and most people would be none the wiser. Still, I’ll always know lol. I can be pretty anal sometimes, and a stickler for accuracy. So this won’t exactly work for me. It’s a great-looking figure, but it won’t fit in with my Scream display because it’s not specifically from that franchise. It’s almost more of a quasi-version. So I don’t know if I’m going to pick it up or not. Part of me wants to, but the other part is conflicted for the reason I stated. But that’s just me.

Hey good review on this ultimate ghostface figure and favorite Scream movies are Scream 1996 , and Scream 4 2011
This figure is NOT based on Ghostface from the Scream films. It's licensed from the original Fun World costume that was used in them. That's why the robe is not entirely accurate, why the weapons are not ones he used in the movies, probably why there is no cell phone, and why there is no mention of Scream anywhere on the box. NECA couldn't get the rights to the Scream franchise, so this was essentially a way to work around that.
Because of that, I'm not entirely sure if I will pick this up. I do like the look of the figure. The decision to go with an entirely soft-goods robe instead of the half plastic and half soft-goods like they did on the Scream 4 figures was a smart one. I think it looks a lot better that way. Love the mask sculpt too. But the fact that it's not from the movies is a huge bummer. Its almost like a quasi-version.

No company has done it because it's a niche market. Or at least, that's why NECA themselves don't do it. Somebody asked them if they would ever consider it, and they said "no" for that reason. They don't believe that figures like that would "sell out so fast".

I've bought 2 ultimate ghostface and both of them the handle on the scythe have broken. The handles are a separate piece they've sculpted and put on the tiniest peg and if its placed in his hand if by any chance has to be rotated it will break. I learned that twice. But I glued it back on and it's fine. Just be careful with yours. I feel dumb telling you this , but would want to spare you that if at all possible. Great review.

I got the figure today but I just have one General open question at what point does a killer. In the costume have the zombie mask as it's called and used the sickle. I mean I got the original Scream an the 3 an 4 an fith movie. I listened to all the audio commentaries and watched the bonus features. Nowhere in any of that does it mention a zombie looking mask or a sickle. Is that a reference to the costume in the first movie father death. I am just wondering where that idea of sickle and zombie mask came from. Because it really doesn't show a good image of the father death costume in the movie. Along with it not mentioned ever in the said audio commentaries or bonus features.
So there's a cut scene from Scream 4 when they're having the barn party where apparently Ghostface was to wear a Zombie cracked mask and wielding a sickle for one reason or another that scene was never included but I guess NECA must have been gotten an idea of what masks were going to be used at the time that they produced this figure. @@TheReviewSpot Yea I get any and all notifications and also recommendations and things for premieres. Thanks so it was from a 5 Second deal in a movie makes. Sense but they really need to explain some of this sometimes on the packaging. Because I automatically got the glow in the dark one from Stab. But that's because it actually is really shown so you see it in the movies. I mean it's nice to put that stuff in because it's shown in the movie but it'll be. Nice to explain some of these random 5 Second deal. Accessories they may include so people know in case someone misses it because it's only a couple seconds. Because I probably seen it in the deleted scenes for Scream 4 but it is so quick I miss the mask and sickle part. Because it's just someone screaming and running you really can't get a good look at it. Because nowhere we're in the audio commentary does Wes Craven. Mention it but he did mention outside from one of the hospital scenes. Because they filmed in Detroit a cop came up to him and asked if they were doing some gun shots. Then he said no and the cop said okay thank you sir and just walked away like it was a normal gunshot in Detroit.
Just ordered and picked this guy up! Excited for it to arrive it’s a must have for sure. Great video Spot!

I'm actually on my second one of this figure. the first one I picked up the knee joint ended up snapping in half when I tried to bend it. thankfully the target I bought it from had another so I took it back and exchanged it. and then when I tried the knee on the second figure it also had a very stiff joint so I just said screw it and left that knee alone to keep from breaking it.

I just got my ultimate ghostface, the hands fall out easly and the balljoint for the head is weird for a neca figure, and the feet are like the retro ghostface which isn't a good thing since I can't display his legs straight

When did ghost face use a scythe? I can’t recall him ever using one in the movies that are currently out. Maybe it happens in Scream 5 later this month?
Apparently they couldn't get the rights to the film costume and accessories. They took some liberties with the included accessories.

Just found the last one at Target...I guess I'll be watching the films now ha ha (still cant believe ive never watched them). The figure looks great. The lack of licensing to the film didn't really hurt this release at all.

Hey Vincent! thanks for writing back, Yeah I've been hearing the same from a lot of you guys, many of you thought that I just stopped making content years ago. Unfortunately with the way the notifications have been working it seems like unless you turn on the bell notifications then TH-cam doesn't share with you the persons conten. Turning on the bell should fix the glitch for you, if you turn it on let me know if it works ok for you?

I just picked up a Ghostface today from Target. First one I have seen and only one on the shelf. His feet wouldn't allow me to stand him up straight. He wanted to lean back. I placed his feet flat on a table and pressed my fingers down and he had a major tilt backwards.
I took a blow-dryer to him and he seems to be standing, for now. I'm scared to do much with him. His arms are also hard to pose but I'll try again after seeing your review, the cloth did seem to restrict him. I wish the cloak had a bit more "weight" to it so it would drape the figure better, like a real garment.
Cool figure however. He just seems awkward compared to the other Neca

This isn't accurate, though. Not to the films. As a matter of fact, this figure is NOT based on Ghostface from Scream. It's licensed from the original Fun World costume that was used in them. NECA doesn't have the rights to the Scream franchise, so this was essentially a way to work around that.

the didn’t use the same mold for the bloody ghost face head and the OG. check the noses! the one with blood is an upside down u shape and not as dark as the OG

I love ghost face from the scream series
This figure is not even based on Ghostface from the Scream films. It's licensed from the original Fun World costume that was used in them. That's why the robe is not entirely accurate, why the weapons are not ones he used in the movies, and why there is no mention of Scream on the box.
