There was another tutorial but that was for engineering and had too much complicated stuff thrown in, like finding true angles or some other stuff that, while it was accurate, only ends up confusing non engineer types.

Youve completely overcomplicated this process. There is a much much easier way to layout an on center transition i would never do it this way it doesnt require a compass or a protractor just a ruler and snips (if its on metal)
