Little trick to help open jars... Get a (strong) spoon, put the edge of it under the lip of the lid and twist sideways. It has to be in a spot that doesn't have the overhang that sits in the thread, of course. No need to spend money on expansive contraptions, just spoon it! 😁

Protip on jars that is a gamechanger: Use butter knife to loosen lid then comes right off. Save me many headaches and messes.

German here: never heard of traditional German cabbage-carot salad lol even though Germans generally love Cabbage and everything similar (kale, brussel sprouts etc.). I recommend a "tradional German" pincer/pliers-style jar opener like the "Leifheit ProLine 3131 Universal Opener" (should be available on amazon) since the one you use does not seem to be too helpful.

I’m really just curious. What’s the difference between the German cabbage salad and kimchi?

I’m not 100% sure on this but German salad that she was using is just like sauerkraut kind of where it’s just fermented soury salty cabbage and carrots whereas kimchi is like fermented spicy sour Napa cabbage that usually the non vegan version uses like fish sauce. I believe kimchi is more salty as well and some use green onions. This is just from my knowledge, I hope this helped though haha 😆
