    GRACE! PSA (like so she can see this is important) DO NOT PUT HOT FOODS IN THE NUTRIBULLET ITS DANGEROUS. I did that once and the blade came flying out, because the pressure + heat causes expansion and the nutribullet acts as a vacuum. There's pictures of so many severe injuries where the bade has popped out while still spinning and has sliced through people's hands and necks. I luckily didn't get injured, just terrified now. Hot liquids need to be blended in a blender with a slightly ajar lid. Nutribullet now makes an attachment for blending hot liquids, because they do not recommend using the upside down blender for hot foods.

    Black salt is great for tofu scramble! Just mix it with a bit of turmeric and use it to season crumbled up tofu that you fry up for a vegan scrambled egg type dish that's really good on toast. It's also really nice for vegan 'egg yolk' sauce (I use itdoesnttastelikechicken's recipe for 'vegan toast dipping sauce'). Totally fulfils my dippy egg cravings

    I love black salt! One of my favourite things to do with it is put it in soda. My family, we often make this drink after dinner. It's made of lemon juice, sugar (ratio depending on your preference) and a tiny pinch of black salt. Mix these well, then add soda/carbonated/sparkling water to it and you've got a yummy drink to enjoy!

  • @wwhimsyy
    @wwhimsyy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As a vegan who used to love eggs, I use a recipe from It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken for an "eggy" sauce that uses the black salt. It's her dippy egg sauce recipe, and it's super good. I use it to make some really good vegan breakfast sandwiches or just dip toast in!

    Thickened water is usually for elderly people or others with comorbidities who can’t swallow properly (dysphagia) with can result in aspiration pneumonia (infection in the lung from food or other things getting in the lungs usually from the inability to swallow properly). To thicken the water, it can come in that bottle or you can get a powder and you scoop a couple of spoons into the water (or other liquids like apple or orange juice) and stir it so it thickens up and there aren’t any clumps. So, usually in nursing homes you’ll see some elderly people eating puréed food, the water is usually the same or similar consistency. This is done to prevent aspiration pneumonia. That would be a interesting thing to try! A day of puréed food and thickened liquids!!! (I did something similar at the beginning of my nursing course hahaha)

We sprinkle it on the fruits to add a little something to it.. and also, it reduces water retention and helps in digestion!

    So thickened water is actually used for medical purposes, for people who have difficulties swallowing liquids or thin foods, such as people with disabilities like autism, cerebral palsy and dementia patients. It’s actually a pretty horrendous texture when you have to thicken someone’s coffee and they then have to drink basically gelatinous coffee or water. Just wanted to let you know why it’s a thing ☺️

    Thick watch is for people who can't swallow drink without choking e.g. When they have throat cancer. You can buy a powered to thicken up drinks. My dad couldn't stand it in water but could drink it in juice form. I think you can just buy it on amazon.

    The liquid from Chickpeas can be whipped up. You could make it into a Cloud Egg. Cloud Eggs are whipped up egg whites baked and then the egg set in the middle and baked for a short time.

    I'm trying to think of a video idea, but I can't.
    Possibly, 24hrs of eating cookies, but they can be savoury and stuff. You can prep and everything.
    Or fruit based meals. IDK, these are quite random. 🤷‍♀️😂

    Please please pleaaaaase can you test out low sugar dessert recipes? I've recently figured out that sugar makes my mind/body feel like garbage so I don't know what I can bake (I also really don't like banana which seems like a common ingredient in low sugar recipes)

    make a tofu scramble with the black salt! i just make it with half a cube of tofu (about 100 g), a dash of black salt, a dash of turmeric (just so it looks yellow) and you can add anything you want to it - my favorites are vegan ham and green onion :))

    Grackle, if you think Heston's stuff in the tv shows look interesting, I can highly recommend his two-starred restaurant in London (run by Ashley Palmer-Watts). It's affordable, they've got delicious food, and it's super fun! Also, it's not particularly difficult to get a table there either!

      Also, they actually have a "fake egg" dessert on the Dinner menu: th-cam.com/video/H5jyDJu3VCQ/w-d-xo.html. MasterChef Australia had the contestants cook it as a final challenge one season, even.
