Wouldn’t it be nice to watch these for the first time again…going in blind. Personally I can watch this without being affected by the discrepancies or inaccuracies of the Terminator and lets face it, it’s all irrelevant now anyway with the time line gone to pot 😆 it really needs sorting out 🤔 good points well made AJ. Take care mate👍😃👍
I’m probably very unfair on the film with these points. It’s a great film. One of arnies and Cameron’s best. They just niggle every time and in my head I have a ‘perfect’ ( for me ) vision of it. However the inflated budget wouldn’t have allowed for that 18 rating due ti needing to get its cost back. Hence the drop to 15. But I would love to see them again. First time. Knowing nothing. There are those folk out there who do get that opportunity now obviously! I’d love to do a watch with someone who’s never seen and no nothing and get there thoughts / reaction.
"can't let you take the man's wheels son" I love the opening to T2, I couldn't care less if it makes sense, it's a great action film, but I do prefer 1 more. I do agree about Furlong, not a fan. I just learned that Linda Hamilton has a twin
Its a shame the marketing ruined what couldve been a great twist. The first one is the best in franchise in my opinion. Wish the films went back to the horror roots.
What have you done, AJ? I must confess, I don't follow the Terminator band wagon much. As a matter of fact, I like both films. “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” It is a movie that helped redefine Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career in the film industry for the rest of his acting career. A statement that needn't be here, when already obvious to Schwarzenegger's mirrad of fans. But T2 certainly solidified his position as Mr Bankable. I do find T2 a far more action driven motion picture, almost like a rollercoaster ride on steroids, which enables the science fiction element to be a back seat passenger. I never did feel the movie sagged. Cameron does give the story a more leisurely form of expression and reflection. This, I feel, is much needed in mid section. The destruction of humanity ( nuclear annihilation) and the contemplative aspects of Sarah Connor's past and future actions are brought sharply into human focus. Yes, the human element that Cameron isn't always able to express visually. Cameron often comes across as cold, calculating, and more of a strategist of visual display. T2 is probably Cameron's greatest achievement both on a technological front and story development. The merging narrative and the climax were inevitable, even back in 1991. Those observant enough could feel the endpoint arriving like the sun emerging from behind a mountain to signal the next day. What mattered. That the climax served its ultimate purpose. All I needed was a satisfactory and moderately styled ending to achieve a resolution of hope. Cameron was cautious and remarkably savvy. The morality play ended like a Shakespearian tragedy should end without the celebration and fanfare we see in some films. T2 is very much a morality play, where machines ultimately don't win, and humanity does.
I really like this movie and not to be that guy but unless kyle and the terminator in 1 went back and did everything exactly how it had already happened then this would technically be a new timeline and thus the rules of 1 may not apply.
Im sorry but you have to watch Terminator 2, trusting James Cameron as a director. Once you understand how everything in Camerons script perfectly aligns with his visual storytelling, youll be able to see and appreciate him as a writer
T2 was the beginning of child friendly Terminator films with bad one liners and unfunny comedy moments. I always took it as the T1000 was actually a living liquid metal, Reese says nothing dead can come through. It's great as an action movie but can't match the superior atmosphere of the original.
I'm not a fan of T2 myself. I always thought it was overly long, and some parts grind to hault and make it boring, The first Terminator is the superior film by far.
Hi Aj by mistake I've ment to send the comment in the comments but sent it to the chat. I wasn't sure if you had got my message but just wanted to tell you that I have sent you an email.

Appreciate the insight.
But I’m not going to make excuses for a film that is actually flawed in its execution

Totally agree
