ok ok wow this is scary. poor stretch. he must've been scared to death. i understand that both rider and horse were spooked, but a few seconds when shes at oge, u can see her barely pulling or turning. i mean, if i was her, i would desperately reach for my life to grab the flag. hopefully the rider, posseman, and the horse are ok. i wasnt at interclub when this happend though. I was at the white olympics (and vaqueros won first place :D) but the incident in (i think night horse) a girl fell off and i think it was an owner, but the flag was on the back legs of the horse and it snapped in half. mr. rumely uploaded it
ApacheandfrogsAJ the reason she didn't try to grab the flag or try to do a one rein stop is because the flag fell through the flag boot. it didn't just fall out. you can see the flag in between stretches legs so doing the one rein stop would be the worst option. he would trip over it and possibly kill her if he landed right. and never try to reach down and grab a flag. you leaning to one side of a bolting horse that is already scared will not help. it could cause him to trip also because you are shifting the weight while he already has the flag under him. she did the right thing by staying how she was and the posseman did amazing. he did get run over but that is truly the only way anyone could have stopped stretch
you know the bottom part of the flag boot? the round part that's glued on. during the show that part fell of and she dropped it causing it to go through
we always say if i were in that moment i would do this i would do that but you weren't in that moment you weren't put in her position at that same time and moment so you can never say if i were in that moment i would do this because you honestly don't know what you would do
This is why I love westernaires people I’m also glad that everyone is okay and the horse
