I'm hoping the V11Y is released in the under $2,000 range. The ugly paint job alone should lower its value some. I really like my V11 as a starter wheel, and since my primary use case is a commuter wheel I think I'll get a lot of mileage out of it before I feel the need to upgrade. I don't like the direction that EUC companies are going with prices though. It seems like they believe that their customers are made of money.
Every manufacture has their batch issues but I've unintentionally ridden through a few rain storms on my V11 with no issues. 6500km and same bearings. It was a later batch.
Not concluding which is best but far's the T4 suspension, how you described it seems to refer to the ori gen1 on the Master/Pro. The T4 has the gen4 linkage similar to the ex30. Being a rider of both, I find the air shock on both to be adequate. I use my T4 as a dedicated dirt wheel & it has performed well. Far from perfect but correctly set (200psi for me at 185lb geared), I can easily take 4ft+ jumps & flying bonks easily. Air shock is cheap no doubt but after 1.4k miles, primarily working hard on mtb single tracks, its still functional. Cant complain really & aftermrkt coil shock replacement can be had for ~$55. T4 stock pads are crap but easily swapped with one's fav. Am seriously tempted by the Extreme but the lightness, nimbleness, toassable, controllability combined with precision dirt handling has hesitating if I wanna add another 20+lbs to my dirt pkg. The T4 has its flaws but its very playful & fun, nevertheless. Great beginner wheel IMO. The only other wheel listed here I would consider as a beginner wheel is the s16. No interest at with the v11y
Agreed that sounds like master suspension. I've done side by side rides with those high pumped masters while my T4 was never over 200psi, usually closer to 150.
The fact that you had bearing issues on V11 earlier batches is not relevant because inmotion's waterprooffing only concerns the battery packs. Great video by the way !
The range situation is stated incorrectly I believe. The V11 commonly gets 50+ miles, and I haven't seen anyone get over 47 miles out of the T4. It isn't only about the battery capacity. For example, the Kingsong 18XL with 1554wh gets as much useable range at 25mph as the 2200wh S22 and 2400wh Master. The "limp mode" in the V11 firmware now allows another 10 miles at around 15mph after the old low battery tiltback as well. in other words, I believe that the v11 is going to end up with the most range of this bunch. The s16 may be right there with it, but I don't think the t4 is going to beat them in terms of range despite having more watt hours. Begode wheels are always power holder, so they typically don't get the same amount of range as other similarly specc'd wheels in my experience.
I have never gotten more than 35 miles on my V11 ever, but I also tend to ride hard and am 200 lbs geared. About 30 miles is a much more common scenario. It's hard to give a true "mileage rating" since they each behave differently especially with the aforementioned "limp home" mode. I'm not sure that ought to count since you're so severely limited at that point, but I see your point as it is valid.
@@WheelGoodTime Marty got something like 56 miles on his range test IIRC, and that was before limp mode was added. As always, riding style, speed, elevation changes, etc we'll all factor in. but he got a number that I've seen no one come close to on the t4 yet.
V11Y is 65.7 lbs, S16 72.7 lbs, T4 66 lbs. The V11Y headlight is outstanding and super bright. The T4 light is also good, but not quite as good as the V11Y. The S16's headlights have adjustable angles, but I don't have much info on it beyond that. I hear very good things about the S19/s22's headlight, and this seems to be the exact same headlight. 😊
@@WheelGoodTime, the T4 Pro weighs about 79.5 lbs; I just checked it with my scales. Ewheels states that the "regular" T4 weighs around 77 lbs, which seems to be close to the truth. I haven't weighed it, but it feels the same as T4 Pro. I am actually thinking of trading my T4 Pro for a V11Y partially because of the ~15 lbs weight difference, handle orientation on the V11/Y, and the overall narrowness of the V11/Y, which is about a third narrower compared to the T4/Pro. Makes it much easier to carry, especially upstairs. I live on the third floor, which makes a lot of difference to me personally.
@@james2137 just paved roads, 30mph capability but will actually do under 25 (I believe not pushing helps prevent cutouts), 30 mile range seems easily attainable on a euc.
I own v11 and 2 weeks ago it went in “protection mode” while charging. Basically the wheel diagnosed itself and decided it was unsafe for use - the wheel said to take it off the charger and later in the app I read diagnostic report. I uploaded the logs via the app, Inmotion team looked through them and immediately sent me a new battery pack (under warranty). While it sucks that I can’t use the wheel in the meantime, I doubt any other manufacturer would go as far as Inmotion in terms of safety. Many might not even have such advance diagnostics. With that being said, if my old V11 worries about the battery safety and risk of cutoff, new V11Y will do even better.
Thoughts on fixing my V11 vs. getting a new S16? It's done 9000km over two motors & rims. Tire got punctured now so I need to take it apart again and debating this now. Side shells all should be replaced, suspension rails top chambers don't work (which makes for some more wobbliness), and ideally I'd replace some of the front assembly as that cracked after a fall too. So the question now is: is it worth spending the couple 100s of euros replacing and repairing vs. just getting a new, better, more durable wheel?
Can you redo this comparison now that the V11y and S16 are out! This is a great comparison because I am new to riding and even though just riding for a couple months I'm looking to my next wheel. I have a V8s as my starter wheel but want a suspension wheel. Don't need super fast but I am at the push-back and beeps on my V8s. So far I'm more of a cruise around town type of rider and the small town roads I ride on are a little rough so I think suspension would help. I'm thinking I won't be bold enough to go over 30 mph, cruising between 20 and 25 so I would think any of these 3 wheels will do. As of today 10/16/24 eWheels has all three on sale, just under $2000, which is also one of my limits, want to stay under $2000 if I can, can push to $2500 if I must. Any advice and "updated" review comparison would be awesome. Thanks and Safe riding.
Although I was the same as you half a year ago, I also changed after a v8. After watching a couple of disassembly videos of the two machines, I came to the conclusion that kingsong uses weak plastics, which will then fall off the machine. So I bought the v11y. And even after 3000 km, it didn't hurt me. It won't get wet. It turns in a smaller space than the v8. It's pretty solid, although I haven't fallen heavily with it yet, but I think I should have bought something for the s16. It needs to be pumped every 600 km, and that's all its maintenance. I'm only afraid of defs because of disassembly.
The s16 has metal battery boxes, and the V11Y has essentially the same plastic shell that the V11 had with a few minor upgrades. The V11Y can still take a lot of beatings, but In the end, aluminum is stronger than the thick plastic in the V11Y
@@WheelGoodTime I have a V11 and the 45 degree cut off is very annoying its fine on pavement but offroading on banks I can go past 45 degrees and I know some wheels go to 70 degrees.
Lots of if common sense right from jump street. Durability is, in the end, why every machine takes a crap on you, ultimately. Sure has been that way with most riders... scooters, ebikes, all of 'em. Longevity of the circuit boards, all about durability. Even heavy and slow riding beats out walking your lightie speedy home.
If I were you, I'd go with a T4 Pro personally. The S22 pro is capable of slightly higher top speed, but it's at the expense of being less durable and issue-prone. The T4 has a very good reliability track record in a fairly small package so I personally think that one is a better option if I was given the choice between the two. But if jumping is your thing, then the S22 pro has more suspension travel than the T4 pro. 🙂
I just filmed a video about that exact thing today 😄 S16 pro is great as a beginner EUC. The T4 is better performance-wise, with more power than all of those, at a slightly higher price. I say... Whichever one is the best one that you can afford 😎 In terms of performance, the best one is the t4 pro, then S16 pro, Then v11y.
I'm torn between the s16 and the v11y and the only thing making me think about the v11y is the raptor controller. but also I read about a lot of cutoffs in inmotions first batches so kind of a weird dichotmy
Personally. I'd choose the S16 pro between the two. I loved my V11 when I owned it, but I believe its design is not conducive to having pads mounted, and the suspension is just better on the S16 pro and T4 Max. However the v11Y is still a good wheel and very safe (now), but given all the choices out there, I'd personally choose a T4 Max in late 2024. 🙂
