    Eu joguei nos dois consoles, além de todas as diferenças visíveis eu achei a versão SNES bem mais fácil na dificuldade, agora a do Neo Geo é um absurdo de difícil, também as vozes do SNES são abafadas e algumas falas cortadas, porém curti muito a versão do SNES.

    É óbvio que o de Snes é inferior ao arcade, MAS é um excelente port, com certeza! O mais impressionante é ter o efeito de zoom, que era uma sensação na época, todo mundo ficou boquiaberto quando viu o Art of Fighting no Arcade, bonecos enormes no zoom in, e muito bacana se afastar e dar um zoom out. Joguei muito no arcade e no Snes, na época. O mega drive, coitadinho, só recebeu o 1, sem efeito de zoom...

    Hhhhaaaa memorias... De quando joguei essa bela inspiração de um pseudo árcade em casa... O cartucho da locadora provavelmente adaptado pro SNES nacional... Ta pra lá de decente essa versão do SNES!!!! Quase tudo esta nele praticamente... Tiveram capricho, pois se pensou no que se poderia fazer mediante as limitações do hardware... Os cartuchos de certas adaptações dos árcades poderiam ser mais potente, com mais memoria, chips extras, mais prazo de reprogramação etc... Mais isso impactava no preço tanto de produzir quanto na venda, por isso certos jogos ficavam abaixo do esperado por essas economias, mais certamente não foi o caso do Art of Fignt2 ... Quem bota defeito jamais sentiu a sensação e a emoção de um molecote remelento ao se deparar com tal game, em que ficou acordado de sexta pra sábado jogando isso a noite inteira hahahahah... AOF2 is a great 2P game on NeoGeo but the CPU in 1P mode is disgusting. It just reads your inputs and counters accordingly. Whilst the Arcade version is the definitive version, I too agree that the SNES version was a reasonable effort - hardware limitations accepted...

      It's because SNK wasted a lot of megs every time. While Nintendo and Sega were still in the 24-32 megs category, SNK was in the 150-170 megs level...while Nintendo and Sega were designating a couple of megs for the music, SNK was using around 20 alone for that category, and so on, an important number of megs for every section, graphics, sound, effects, etc. this is why all of their games were awesome, as they used a lot of size and sources to build games with arcade quality.

    • @sloppynyuszi
      @sloppynyuszi ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@carlossantavilla2997 it’s not that simple. By your logic then the CD add on by Sega and NEC should have allowed for perfect Neo-Geo ports. As the meg count on these cartridges was measured in bits and you need 8 of those to make a Mega by te and a CD can hold 750 of those. The Neo Geo was also powered by the same Motorola 6800 that powered the mega drive. It had a bunch of other coprocessors for scaling, fx, colors and also a large for the time RAM to hold the big assets in memory while playing. Why those CD based games for a while couldn’t keep up. The Saturn even with the RAM expansion had less Ram than a Neo Geo.

      @@sloppynyuszi You won't believe just how many times I've already gone over this with the others... MOST of those problems/issues with porting these kinds of games on the SNES could've been solved if Nintendo had opted for the faster and cheaper Motorola 68000 chip instead... The FACT that this chip is still being mass-manufactured and used in electronics applications even to this day, is a testament to how practical it was. With a faster and more powerful chip that ran at 12MHz, plus just a little bit more onboard RAM, all that would be required to retain most of the game original content would be LARGER cartridges. And the control response issues in these games could just be a direct result of lazy-ass programmers who probably didn't have all the right tools to work with back then at the time?

    In my opinion, I think they really should have left out the zooming effect on the SNES version and just made the sprites as BIG as possible; like Samurai Shodown on the Genesis... That way, it could've played better/faster/smoother and put alot less stress on the already slow-ass CPU. And doubling up on the memory with 64-meg cart size (to hold more graphics and higher quality sound effects) couldn't hurt either! 🤔

    • @protossevolution3361
      @protossevolution3361 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think different: The sprite size doesn't matter all. What matter is how responsive are the controls, how faithful (not in graphic terms, because we are talking about consoles that couldn't match the arcades) is to the arcade. Samurai Shodown on Snes is a more complete and faithful game. Genesis port lost a lot of moves, one character entirely, and while the sprites are bigger, the backgrounds are much more detailed and beautiful on Snes. Of course, if the characters would be bigger, it would be even better, but still, it's the best port of the 16 bit consoles.

      Because Takara USA had already went BANKRUPT by then... 😞
      AOF3 was originally planned to be released for the N64, but the project was scrapped! 👎🗑
      SNK took over the ports on the PS1, Saturn, and Dreamcast; while Takara went back to developing toys and kid's games.
      Takara DID introduce the Battle Arena Toshinden series, and that did pretty good in the arcades and home consoles as well.

      Genesis never got AoF 2 at all, only the SFC/SNES got a port, the only non-SNK made console that got one. Like the PS1 being the only non-SNK made console for years that got Samurai Shodown 2 and in Japan only.

      Sega in-house ported AOF1 on the Genesis previously, and it was pretty decent actually.

      Mode 7 can zoom in/out the background layer, but not the fighters.
      I assume that the zooming of the characters is done with another technique. In fatal fury special on snes (not ff2) they achieve a little bit of zooming in/out without mode 7, seemingly collapsing the tiles 2-3 pixels to the center of the fighter's image. The result is a slightly distorted image. That's why i assume that the zooming in/out is not much pronounced in art of fighting 1 and 2 on the snes.

    • @felipegcs
      @felipegcs 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes the proportions in Takuma looks odd when zoomed out...arms seems too big when shooting a fireball, that's why i believe that the zooming out is a programming trick, which works fast and nice in low resolution images, not a true zooming efect, which would be too much for the snes processor without a dsp
