6:14 to add to that, if you still have issues with untwisting it may help to use a gripping tool like a plastic hair elastic. I’ve had issues with my needles untwisting, even with the key, but it stopped once I started to use a grippy tool in combination with the key :D
I personally use the thin metal crochet hook (mostly bc that's what my mom had when i started crocheting) but i like it. The coldness you don't like i love bc my hand gets sweaty very easily so it cools them down and it's very smooth for me
Ohh that makes sense!! I have a total opposite reaction with full metal hooks whenever my hands sweat while I crochet. My hand would slip and slide along it and make it difficult to crochet, but I do love metal tipped hooks! Glad the coldness works for you though. ☺️
I hope I can invest in some interchangeable needle sets soon! I have some that I bought individual Knit Pro interchangeable needles but I would still like more since I only have 6mm and less haha
I love your review on the Kneedles and Hooks, I like wood needles or bamboo cause they are easier on my hands and I am a loose knitter, I just bought this year the Lykke I love the feel of them the only thing is that the Yarn catches a bit where the metal part and cable meet but is not a big deal or deal breaker, I also got the blue color and I got the long needle and the short needle set. I have a few Furls hooks in my favorite size and I really like them but I hold my hook like a pencil so its hard to hold the furls that way but when I get tired and switch and hold it like a knife it is so much easier on my hand and wrist but I am too slow that way and not patient enough to practice and get more proficient, lol.
I am a chiao goo interchangeable fan, have the sock knitting mini set and full set , including smaller ones up to 8mm in 4" so I can do those 16" circumferences despite liking magic loop for most things. Furls is top of the line!! , heard a lot about Prym , but never enough to buy the hooks or needles. I have some old school Susan Bates from my youth, however have added polymer handles on them (comfort) NOW having said that , not a fan of the newer SB hooks , not sure what happened , just not the same , sharper edges , not as smooth? Anyways grateful to have the older ones already in collection . Everyone just NEVER MIND asking why so many hooks or needles, don't need that sort of drama in our life. lol
Love your video!! You have made quite an investment in your hooks and needles. I use the chiagoo needles. I also have some Lykke needles as well. Absolutely love them all. I also crochet and I have the Boye hooks. I love the look of the Furls and saving for a set.
I just purchased Furls Odyssey hooks and I struggle with them. Im so use to my Etimo Tulips. I have a set of Chiagoo Knitting needles and Tunisian hooks. I also have a set of KnitPick needles but they have no grip on them. Yarn keep sliding off. I may try wood needles one day.
Also yes I have so many hooks for the same reason! Some days I want different hooks. I like to switch it up with how I feel, it may be superficial but it makes me happy! I know on the crochet groups every time I talk about about my furls hooks I get shit for it & people saying “I use my cheap hooks & they work fine what a waste of money” but I look at it like this, they’re out tools. Our tools can be splurged on because we use them everyday & want them to bring us joy so I don’t mind splurging on my furls! Plus if you do have them break or something their customer service is amazing & replace them right away! Sorry for that little rant. 😂 also I currently have two that have been stuck in the mail though for two weeks so hopefully they show up but if not they do replace them!
Yes! I don’t think it’s superficial at all! This is a hobby that some people (like us) WANT to spend money on getting the best tools we want and even the fanciest. And we should be able to be happy doing that without being judged for what we spend on our craft. Furls customer service is so great! I’m happy someone else shares my love for them and understands the feeling of wanting to switch up the different hooks some days. I hope you’re able to get your hooks soon! 😆🥰💙
I love my knit picks needles. Perfect for starting out. And I love my furls crochet hooks too. My writs never hurt with them. It’s amazing. Well worth the investment.
I need to buy the Collector's Box because I also have a lot of Furls hooks. I agree with you in that I do not like chunky yarn either. I first bought Furls wood hooks and a few weeks later the actual hook broke off. I was so upset. I have all metal hooks and love them.
I really enjoyed this video! thanks!! I'm using KnitPro Zing interhangeable keedles which are very nice. But it might be too long for knitting hats, It's not very comfortable in larger sizes.. So I think maybe I should try the Knit Picks short needles you showed!! I think it will make it easier to knit hats. I found the normal set which is until 6mm. May I ask where you got the bigger needle tips (the 7mm and above)? I can't find it on their website... Thanks!!! (and I'm way too invested in the advent yarn haha!)
For the short needles, they indeed do go until 6mm in the interchangeable set, so I had to get fixed circulars for the 7mm (I don’t have any small needles bigger than 7mm since I haven’t needed to use bigger needles yet).
Yesss I asked you about the lykee needles on IG. I'm hoping to get the pink ones as a gift. I do like ChiaGoo but I knit continental and they are so pointy and hurt my fingers. I think I prefer the Addis. I did just get the Knitters Pride woodb10inch for in the round socks. I'm knitting my first pair on magic loop right now then I'm going to try DPNs too. Got the wood knitters pride in 2.25. Do you tend to make socks on 3mm?
@@knitwithkali thanks I've seen some women do it on 2.5mm for sock weight yarn but they do admit to being tighter knitters. I'd like to make some DK weight socks. I herebtheybwork up quick and are cozy.
Love chiaogoo needles. I love hearing the stainless steel click while I'm working 😂 I'm the opposite. I'm not a fan of wooden needles. I prefer metal needles but I think wooden needles are best for chunky yarn so I only have large wooden needles.
Thanks a lot for your video and for sharing your needles and I love your crochet hooks 😍 and your explanation too. I want to order some of them, thanks for the website references.
My favorite crochet hooks to use are my clover amour crochet hook set and my Etimo tulip crochet hook set they are both tied in first place for me🥰 I also sometimes use my streamline furls resin hooks but they snag my yarn but it could be that I learned on Boyse crochet hooks so I really love tapered hooks more. Also for people who want to learn to crochet but don’t want to spend a butt tone of money dollar tree sells some plastic crochet hooks that are very nice and smooth I was very surprised at how nice they were! Dollar tree also sells aluminum ergonomic hooks but I would recommend not using those! They are not very good. Whoever made dollar trees plastic hooks knew what they were doing.
@@momof3girlz same at mine. I only found the two I have from when they first started selling them. I would really like them to come back in stock soon so I can use them as travel hooks.
Hi I’m new to your channel I love knitting and I have the lyyke knitting needles interchangeable I have the gray case and I love them. I think I’m going to get me the blue pair too I seen They’re worth the money because a lot of needles come in and like you said you don’t have to buy more needles
I’ve bought a few furls hooks but I can’t crochet smoothly with Susan bates hook. I want to because I love the feel of the handle in my hand but the head of the hook just isn’t my vibe😞
@@knitwithkali gotcha! Well if you ever want to sell them pls let me know. I collected all the Prym hooks now I’m on to clover lol. Have a blessed day 😊❤️

Ooo great advice!! Thank you! 💙
i've been thinking about getting those lykke needles because they're so beautiful and i'm so glad that you like them! i'll definitely get them now.

Love that! 🥰

Are the Lykke needles set made of silicon?
No, they are wood
This is exactly what I needed!!!!!!

I applaud you for being able to crochet with long fingernails, they are very pretty.
