I can see people liking this set up if they live in a really small apartment and want the option to store it all away easily... I know I know, get a laptop then. But for those who want separate components this is a nice option imo :)
Laptops aren't intended to be run at fully duty cycle, just boost once in a while, else their cooling system is pushed to the limit, and even when it can keep up, the noise usually warrants earplugs. This little system can go all day any day, it's silent, and if someday a component gives up the ghost, it's an easy and relatively inexpensive replacement.
It wouldn't be a Dawid does tech stuff video if the premise of the video wasn't practically useless, but loads of fun! 🤣 Honestly makes me want to build a mini itx build for my living room because my Roku is terrible
If you do this, I'd probably go with the InWin Chopin instead of the InWin B1. It's got a lower wattage PSU, with 150W instead of 200W, but you're not gonna go above 150W with a 5600G (someone powered a 5700G off of it without exceeding 135W), and the side panel is mesh rather than glass It's also a lot smaller, it's basically the size of an ITX motherboard
I have a living room PC. It comes in handy all the time. Chromecast, Roku etc. Are all way cheaper but I just really like it and it never has issues I can't fix unlike the TV apps
@@DawidDoesTechStuff I hear you, brother. I’m in the same area. If there is local Amazon stock (either Tsawwassen or Richmond), we’re good btw. I ordered something from Canada computers and took an extra week to be delivered

it's something they already utilize with the xbox and ps5, it's puzzling why they wouldn't make this available for PC's, even if it were an entire board assembly.
I've had a K39 build with a 5600x and a 2060. It was super powerful and the reason why I used that is because when I went to my gf or one of my parents because they're divorced, I didn't have the crippled performance of a laptop. I know there's some good laptop's but that itx build cost me 1000$ so I feel like it was worth it :)
Video idea : build a full computer inside a case, so pc (of course), but also the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals... or you could just use a laptop...
Love this concept. Portable systems can be a lot more practical than this. Velca 3 with a designated gpu is about the same size. I would never bring it to a Coffey shop but going to friends houses or traveling it’s great.
Wireless peripherals, maybe a stand where you can put the monitor and the pc behind it so that it takes very little space. Extra points for cardboard stand
Another excellent and useful video Dawid! Just a small correction. 5300G uses "Vega" 6 and not Vega 3 graphics. It is a huge mistake and the only way that you could make things better is if you made another awesome Vileda sponsored content 🤣
As a uni student, having a small PC (15 litres in the Silverstone RVZ03) has been super useful. In it is a triple slot Palit Gamerock GTX 1080 (this *should not* fit, it does anyway), 16GB DDR4 3000MHz and a Ryzen 5 1600. It takes up minimal desk space which is convenient, but the main advantage is actually the portability. Not laptop style "take it anywhere" portability, but "staying somewhere over the weekend" portability. All the upsides of a desktop, except I can carry it where I want it in a medium sized shopping bag, spend the weekend gaming and carry it back without needing a car.
I don't see a lot of games doing better than 60 FPS on this hardware. It would be interesting to see this done with less expensive parts. There are HDMI adapters for laptop panels. Take the screen off an older laptop with a 60 Hz screen, screw the hinges into the top of this case, get the 12 volt power from the PC's power supply and use a wireless keyboard and mouse. I think that would make it cheaper and infinitely more portable.

Maybe a similar build in the Fractal Node 202? It's got a similar schtick, being a relatively SFF PC that you could theoretically make portable, but you can also fit a GPU in it Or you could go all the way and go with something from Velka, but the Node 202 is much more affordable
The Node 202 is fairly compact but it's significantly bigger -- about the size of a consumer Hi-Fi device. It's a decent case for lightweight Mini-ITX builds though.
@@Stoney3K It's bigger, but it's also a lot thinner, having a similar profile to a relatively thick binder The Inwin B1, by contrast, with its rounded design plus its feet, has a much more square profile by comparison (ironic, considering the fact that it's rounded)
Watching you setup that PC in the coffee shop made me laugh out loud. I really want to do that someday and watch people's reactions. But instead of a mini PC, I want to bring a desktop with full sized keyboard on a monster LTT style desk/mouse pad, with a full surround sound speaker setup that takes up space on the table behind you. 🤣

I have the same backpack as dawid. good to see I can fit a pc inside it.
I cant find the mentioned emulation use case video in the description. Am i missing something? Greetz
Maybe a similar build in the Fractal Node 202? It's got a similar schtick, being a relatively SFF PC that you could theoretically make portable, but you can also fit a GPU in it
Or you could go all the way and go with something from Velka, but the Node 202 is much more affordable
The Node 202 is fairly compact but it's significantly bigger -- about the size of a consumer Hi-Fi device. It's a decent case for lightweight Mini-ITX builds though.
@@Stoney3K It's bigger, but it's also a lot thinner, having a similar profile to a relatively thick binder
The Inwin B1, by contrast, with its rounded design plus its feet, has a much more square profile by comparison (ironic, considering the fact that it's rounded)
I only subscribed for the 'almost impractical' hardware reviews - 'wildly impractical' is just a bonus! Lol
The deep way he says Linode almost sounds pornographic. Well done Dawid
The 12900K doesn't have the Iris graphics cores in it right? It does not carry the new IGP branding. maybe that die was already too packed.
As an integrator I have access to the 5300G in small quantities,
I opted for 4600G and 16GB 4000MHz and run great, but as portable as yours, as I used Zoostorm case with silly placement of SFX PSU...
