Congrats on your purchase! Very nice find! I've recently sold my mum's EBII in the same colour in Cardinal Red to a young dude similar to your age. He loves it! I'm glad that he is as my mum's legacy is somewhat passed on from her 30 year ownership
Good memories of driving them as company cars. Great design but plenty of quality issues until the ED. By then, they were mostly sorted an really excellent. My EB had wrong valve timing for 6 months and was down on power. One door had a crap respray in factory before delivery! Sorted under warranty. 60k km is amazing.
Well done saving a really nice example of a forgotten classic - I really love that someone young is interested in saving these once common everyday type cars (I have a '93 NC Sportsman Ghia) and not just the V8's/performance models. Hope it goes to a good home. Cheers!

Still feels a bit odd these are as old as they are now, still think of them as being 15-20 years old at times. Either way, will be good to see how this one comes along, the more EA/B/D's saved, the better.
Just because the seats and interior are in good condition does not mean that the cars mechanicals have been looked after. Majority of these early model fords have done a million ks or more and have had there dash clusters swapped out with lower kilometre units for an easy sale by car yards and private seller so unfortunately you can not tell if the kilometres on the engine are genuine..
Why! Obviously you are a young man with a passion and I applaud that, but a Ford EA…and with the clunky 4Speed trans, dodgy door handles, leaking hoses, useless A/C, useless heating, water traps, clear coat that is not clear…and the list continues. May God’s grace go with you. If you’re going to persist with being an avid Australian (American) car enthusiast and a Ford lover and it appears you have the skills to DIY I suggest you hunt around and see if you can find an XD with a 5 speed manual or any manual. The 3 Speed Auto is a slug. A V8 would be good but the sixs are also pretty good even the 3.3 but only with a manual. The Ford alloy heads (mid XE) were nothing more than a massive headache. Somehow GM got the heads kinda right although they had installed that 30 year old Buick V6 that had been run into the ground and any problems GM could rectify. Unless you have a penchant for frustration and pain give anything Ford post-mid XE a miss. I just found your XD project. You’re a smart fella. Stick with the XDs…and you’re wondering why you got no views for a Territory. They’re a chick car. Built for chicks, Marketed to chicks. No self respecting man is going to watch a vid on a Territory…unless it is to fix his missus Territory, but I doubt there are any left in the road. They were boat anchors. Another Ford f..k up.
Why an EA?, Why not an EA?, especially a tidy low km example, in comparison to the XD the EA has many benefits such as Rack and pinion steering for a tighter turning circle and better road feel not the whatever the hell it was they used in the XD that was no good anyway and gave it the turning circle of a large bus. EA had an adjustable steering column for both rake and reach for a better driving position unlike the column in the XD where they picked the worse position and fixed it there with no choice of adjustment. EA sedan had coil spring and watts link rear suspension not cart springs like the XD had. EA had flush fitting rain gutters for less wind noise / wind resistance not the howl in the wind external rain gutters on the XD. EA sedan had 60/40 folding split rear seats don't even bother looking for it on the XD. The alleged water traps, useless AC and Heater of the EA also apply to the XD, Ditto the clear coat issue. I must commend you it takes a very brave person to accuse the EA of having dodgy door handles yet you wisely made no mention of the easy break door handle fitted to the XD, guess you didn't want to be a hypocrite. Both the EA and The XD had their flaws, however I will stress that the XD did have the option of a V8 engine so that men who are insecure about the size of their appendage could drive something to make them feel better about themselves, though ironically the 5 speed multi point six cylinder fitted to the EA was faster then any factory V8 XD anyway.
Show me an American equivalent to the EA.......the Buick V6 was tweaked by Holden's and was bullet proof ... was the weapon of choice if you wanted to do skids on your Ps even when they were twenty years old
Nice EA, good to see it being saved. We have to preserve our Ford, Holden history. ❤

Show me an American equivalent to the EA.......the Buick V6 was tweaked by Holden's and was bullet proof ... was the weapon of choice if you wanted to do skids on your Ps even when they were twenty years old
Thanks mate but people like what they like. I grew up with EA EB ED’s
Good god throw it away ha ha. I got 20 ea's rusting away in my yard. Hate the e series with a passion
Then why are you searching EA videos?
