  • If you are looking for an MGA this is the one to go for, being a 1600 Mk2 - the final iteration of the model. It features the larger 1622cc engine which produced 90bhp and enabled the MGA to exceed the magic ‘ton’ for the first time with a top speed of 105mph. Front disc brakes were standard as was a taller back axle ratio for more relaxed cruising.
The car offered, like the vast majority of MGAs , was originally exported to the USA. It was repatriated in 1990 and treated to a chassis up rebuild. All bills and photos of the restoration are on file.
The white paintwork was done to a very high standard and presents extremely well with but one star blemish on the bootlid. The doors open and shut nicely as do the bonnet and bootlid.
The interior is trimmed in black leather with red piping and black carpets - all of which are in excellent condition. MG rubber mats are fitted to protect the carpets. There is full weather equipment comprising hood and tonneau in black double duck and sidescreens.
The chrome wire wheels suit the car and look extremely smart. They are shod with Uniroyal Rallye 280 radial tyres.
There is plenty of room for the taller driver in the comfortable cockpit and the car is a joy to drive with a responsive engine, fine handling thanks to the rack and pinion steering and good brakes.
The engine bay is very clean and well presented. An electric fan is fitted as well as a modern electric fuel pump.
Underneath all is very clean and tidy.
There is a large file of invoices with the car together with an Owners Handbook and a BMIHT dating letter.
Overall a very good example of the rarer and more desirable 1600 MK2.
A video of the car can be viewed on the St Andrews Autos TH-cam channel.

We would be happy to take an interesting classic vehicle in part exchange.
