As for the song - I listened to the opinions of several reactors, and the most significant for me are the ones that talked about getting out of the pandemic numbness / hibernation, and returning to an intensely lived life. I completely agree with you that this is a mainstream song, and I don't think it will ever be played in the symphonic metal context of Nightwish. In my opinion, it is the result of the last 2 years of sedimentation, years in which Floor saw herself alone (like all of us) and decided to give an explicit shape to this creative flow, after doing some experiments with the home covers from the pandemic (she also talked about it in a few episodes of her YT channel, in the "Storytime" series). This was the "engine", following her success in the TV show "Beste Zangers 2019" and her solo shows that followed in the Netherlands, in which she successfully "touched" other musical genres, and "recapitulated" songs from her entire career. I look forward to the whole album, it will definitely be something special.
Im sure the album will be amazing. And like Floor said in her livestreem, this is different - its not metal because she already does that with Nightwish. And she wanted to find her own voice.
I concur. My condolences too. On Beste Zangers. Please try to find extended versions with translations, where you can hear Floor talk about her and the song she will perform. You’ll get some great background information about her education etc.
In the last weeks, she was part of the TV production "Sing meinen Song - das Tauschkonzert" (Sing My Song -The Exchange Concert) from the german "VOX" TV cannel. In this production every singer has the chance to perfom one orignal new song. The IXth season will be aried from April 26th onwarts. We don´t know it yet, but this might be hers original new song. To the concept of the show: Every evening one singer is in the focus. The others perform one song of thier choice and in thier style from the catalog of the focused singer. The focused Singer performed also one (new) song.

Yes Jen. If we all target the same stations, everyone could call in from anywhere long distance to a specific location and continuously make the request for Floor's single. We need a leader to tell us where to call in the request. The radio station would be obligated to play her single by mad popularity of her fans. This is the only way we can get her into the main stream in North America. We need a plan of action asap..
When first hearing this song you think that’s a good song. As you hear it a few more times it grows more satisfying and love. She is amazing, can do it all. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺
Yes, this is very mainstream sounding and I'm pretty sure that's exactly what Floor is aiming at. It's her way to attract a bigger audience and through that hoping to offer a stepping stone to symphonic metal. It's exactly like you said: she hopes to get a foot between the door on her way to gain popularity amongst mainstream music fans. I don't think Nightwish will ever touch this song, foremost since all band members have their own side projects and the band has always respected that.
She also said that she wanted to something else than metal because she has done that for the past 20 years already and is in THE biggest band in the Genre. So I think that she just wanted to have something really different - but let’s face it, she sounds like Floor and not like mainstream no matter what she does 😅
And she said she already sings the metal written by the most genius writer - there's no point in trying to compete that (knowing she'd never exceed Tuomas as a writer of symphonic metal & lyrics)
All Nightwish members have their own sideprojects, but that's all planned around their number one commitment which is Nightwish. I do think her idea behind this mainstream sideproject is to get people interested and curious. Floor expressed multiple times that she was always frustrated by the lack of general awareness of Nightwish or (Symphonic) Metal as a genre. In the Netherlands that awareness came with her performing in 'Beste Zangers', which made a huge impression and led to a lot of new fans. After that the Nightwish concert in the Ziggo Dome (capacity 17000) was sold out in a matter of hours. They planned a second concert, sold out too. These side projects do help.
She's recording/filming the German equivalent to Beste Zangers (Sing meinen Song "Sing my Song") with some German singers (who all have nothing on her), I guess to get more mainstream awareness of herself here, beyond the Nightwish army

But then again Eric, this is a good music. This is a well crafted pop song, actually a little heavier and more "Nightwishy" that I expected. Nice piano theme with the strings. Agree 100%. I was a little iffy in verse one, too calm. Heart voice but lacking power. The. It shifted and shifted again when the drums and guitar came in. Very much like Floor’s take on Beste Zangers. To start close to traditional and then bring in the power and metal. I find that I like it better every time I hear it. Thanks for doing a reaction to this song. I know this is meant to be a pop song, but it is so far above the crap we are fed today from other pop "artists!" I hope it gets radio airplay. If this is what it takes to get more people exposed to Nightwish, I'm all for it. I'd rather see them play arenas in North America than crappy little clubs. But getting exposure for Nightwish isn't the only reason I wish Floor success. She deserves it! I hope her doing a bunch of solo stuff doesn't make waves in Nightwish. Great reaction and a gorgeous song. I have seen other commenters (not reactors) who said it took several listens to like this because it sounds different but for me this is vintage Floor. I wonder if those people have only heard her in Nightwish. I get echoes of her work in After Forever (Energize Me), ReVamp (Sweet Curse), her covers (Oblivion), or Beste Zangers (Euphoria). Glad she is being herself and sharing her talent and vision with us.
Floor had a great live stream after the video release and said she decided to try a Pop/Rock slant on her solo stuff. Her recent works on TV showed her she could do it and feel good doing about anything now. I think you are spot on. And this song is so much dripping Floor sll over. If you listen to some of her earlier she has written, like "Strong" and "Sweet Curse" - she has the same depth in her expression of the feelings. I know she says that this is about getting out of the Pandemic, but I also hear her express the emotions and feelings in a relationship / marriage - which I believe is written on purpose by Floor. She is great with lyrics - just look a all the lyrics from After Forever, ReVamp and Northward, she has written - this is so much Floor, using her powers to describe something that she has to get out. Super reaction from you 👍 - and I really hope that more people will experience this phenomenon called Floor Jansen. By the way - she is going on solo tours with her catalog including the new songs - and more to come in the future ( hopefully including duets with Irene)
I think most of us get the difference between her solo career & her career as a front woman for Nightwish. I wouldn’t expect her to play this song during a Nightwish performance. Nightwish is Tuomas’s vehicle. When Nightwish isn’t touring she’s able to go on a solo tour & perform her solo stuff & some Nightwish stuff. Otherwise I enjoyed your reaction as per usual. Glad you are Back, Hope all is Well, I hear Floor as an Artist with a Signature of Tones and Colors that are going home with warm thoughts, A Short Story in the Songs She can bring, She can Change Songs she "covers" the Lyrics take hold in the Mind, She can Lead the Audience into the Music drag out the emotions (Anger and Hope) (Awe and Happiness). She is a Performer, but She Performs as her Self , Not a constructed persona to perform. She Brings new Material to the World with the Same Force.
The "burn the silence down..." part reminds of a song (cant remember which) from Swedish melancholic poprock band Kent. Her sitting in the car dressed like that is also very reminiscent of the video to their song "Dom Andra". So I'm curious if she's a fan. Their albums "Vapen & ammunition" and "Du & jag döden" are great.

Not much of a commenter but I'm glad to see you're back. Been following you since your GLS reaction (tbh generally just watch Nightwish reactions) and I thoroughly enjoy the content you make. I'm sorry about your fur baby, losing family is never easy. Fire is a song that has taken me a few listens to really get into the groove but I think that's just because I am so used to the NW sound and this isn't the same sound yet it is still a great song. I enjoy it now after listening to it a few times and watching a few reactions to it. This shows I gotta branch out and listen to more. For the next song from NW I'd recommend Song of My Self or continue Human Nature and listen to Music, the first song on the album.

Also her version of Shallow is way better and totally different of Lady Gaga's one. "I Don't Know A Thing About Love" is a great emotional tornado and of course the "Phantom of the Opera'" duet with Henk Poort is phenomenal.
I can't help it, but in parts, it reminds me of some of the best, classic James Bond movie title songs. As for the song/arrangement.... wonderful and perfect. Floor's voice... unrivalled as ever ❤️. Heck Yeah. It's so nice to hear you speak of the potential there is to hear Floor Jansen's single on various radio stations. Requesting is the only way to go. If we even were to strategize specific radio channels in various locations to target to make a greater impact. People from everywhere could target these channels. Call in long distance to make it happen, that's the only way it happens. The Nightwish Army can make it happen. We just need to pick the radio station and location to request like mad.. Could you make recommendations as to which stations to request FIRE?
Sorry I couldn't watch your update video as I lost a dog a couple of years ago and had to make the decision and it's still raw. So I feel for you dude. Good to see you do a reaction of this so soon. I love metal and a lot of other genres. I have heard Floor across a lot of genres with different projects. And I am here for it.
You should definitely do "Sweet Curse", another song she was heavily involved. She was responsible for the lyrics and the vocal arrangement. So you can experience more of Floor's personal tone...I recommend the live version she lately did with Henk Poort in Amsterdam, for whom she indeed was fancying in her youth :-)
Floor's song, While Love Died(Northward) from 2018 is also Floor testing the water. She has that "voice" that goes straight into your heart, in a good way...not like my ex. I have wondered if I had heard her voice singing, before I had seen her singing, what would my reaction have been. At this point, I don't care anymore. I will be surprised if FIRE doesn't get airplay. Guess we'll see. Great reaction.
While Love Died is an awesome song, the video is about as awesome as a video can get. Completely different Floor from anything she has done. And yes, her voice is great, but I also like watching her sing the songs better than just listening to them.
First of all, let me start by saying that I found your channel yesterday, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Started from the first video and got up to here, so I think it says something good. Now I didn't look at videos up the list so I hope I'm not gonna write about things that you are already aware of. It looks like you're going deeper and deeper into the Floor Jansen rabbit hole, so let me recommend to you her original band After Forever. After Forever, along with Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation basically kick started the Symphonic Metal genera. As such they had a lot of tours and shows together (videos from back then are hard to come by and most are really low quality). If you ask me the first 2 After Forever albums really need to get remastered, but they are REALLY good albums. I'm sure people already told you about her first Solo project ReVamp which was also great. And I saw in the comments here, that people mentioning the 12th season of beste zangers which she took part of. you can find the show with Eng subtitle online, so if you wanna cry a little I highly recommend watching it. She also participated in the German version of the show. Again, if you wanna cry highly recommended. Watching people react to Floor singing to them their own songs is crazy fun. sorry about the long comment. Keep up the good job.
I concur wholeheartedly. It sounds like the type of song you could hear in a mainstream TV commercial and I don’t mean that as a bad thing, I desperately want the U.S. to discover Floor and Nightwish and I believe this side of Floor could, as you say, wedge her foot in the door!

It's a really good song that shows her maturation as an artist, and as a 41 yr old woman; It IS her now, and shows that she's very comfortable in her skin. However, Bro - if you want to get your doors blown off, ya gotta check out her previous solo/collab project that she released in 2018. Northward - "While love died" (official). The entire album is fantastic, and with the support of mainstream radio, this would have put her over the top of Amy Lee and Halestorm (as far as American audiences go, in my opinion.)
Yes, I agree, great song. I personally prefer Floor`s work with Nightwish, but that's me expressing a personal preference and takes nothing from this song. If you want something uplifting and feel-good from Nightwish, I again recommend Alpenglow live in Mexico city. Great to see you again Eric!
Condolences for your loss Eric. Floor is reaching out to find a sound for her solo record. Also creating a sound for her side project and after Nightwish. Hopefully many years from now. This was all about breaking out after the lockdowns. Time to reignite the fire and get back to living life at full speed. Nightwish will not play Floor's solo songs. Floor will be doing solo performances and do these songs. She will be performing at Paaspop in The Netherlands in April.

Floor is so versatile. You really should take an evening to watch the stuff she did just because she could. I assume most is not reactable in your format, but it will be fun to watch. "Oh mio bambino caro", "Que se siente", "Vilja Lied", "Phantom of the opera", "Mama" and so much more. "Winner" and her participation on the Aryan projects are very reactable, but so is are all the Nightwish songs....

Not usually a fan.of 'adult contemporary' music...but the sound of Floor is pleasing to me regardless of what she's singing. Nightwish would likely never play Floor's solo material. Marko had a band, Tarot, who had amazing songs...they're simply separate entities. Nice to see you Eric!

I joined her release livechat after the video premiere last friday. It was very interesting, she talked a lot about her motives, plans and her new music. The whole upcoming album (this fall) will be rock/pop, not metal. She does enough of that with Nightwish (which she will continue for sure), so she wanted to explore something new musically. In songwriting and production she went back to her roots in the Netherlands, recruiting her team there. Fun fact: a cowriter for some of the songs was once a student of hers, when she taught contemporary music at a college in Nijmegen. 😂 I concur that this is a great and well written song. It even grows to you when listening to it some more times. But it’s not exactly my style, so it didn’t blow me away. But I’m curious for the upcoming album nonetheless.

Really nice commentary. Floor is incredibly versatile. I enjoyed this very much but prefer her with Nightwish. There's a magic composition that Tuomas brings that cannot be matched.

Floor has said the two sides to her personality are like two wolves. one likes to be comfortable at home, curled up with family. the other, likes to run wild and howl. she's a total workhaholic. from 2014 to 2019 she was nonstop. 2014 - making, and rehearsing new NW album. 2015 -2016 tour. got married and pregnant. 2017 - 2018 gave birth, recorded and performed with Ayreon. toured with NW for Decades album. 2019 appeared on Beste Zangers. Solo tour through the Neatherlands. recorded new NW album. being cooped up at home, right as NW dropped their latest album was challenging for them all. i'm half of the opinion that had Covid not happened, Marko would not have left the band. "Oblivion" was my favorite of the solo things she did at home. home was no cake walk for her. she tested positive in the summer. mild case, isolated at home. when they were rehearsing for the virtual show they did, she had a gallstone attack that required emergency removal of her gal bladder, and her spleen. know it was gb and something else.
I will say this here I scrolled down and didn't see it. You should go watch and react to Floor Jansen at Beste Zangers. It helps to see the build up to each song. The simple explanation a group of singers each takes a seat while the others honor them with songs of theirs or ones important to them. Floor was not well known in her home country. well I was listening to the radio yesterday when they were talking about the new songs that came out and there was no mention of this song on that station. I love love love this melody, but you're right it's more main stream. I would be very surprised if Nightwish would ever perform this ( I don't expect it) Then again it would be awesome cause Tuomas would probably add some heavier metal component to it, which this song misses (at least in my opinion it would make it better)
I don't think Nightwish will play this song! This is Floor's song and not Tuomas'. If Floor asked him to adopt this song into a Nightwish version, I believe he will do this, because he's so thankful to Floor for rescuing the band. But without Floor's permission - no.
@@TomTomson81 Well if Tuomas would have thought the song was lacking something...I doubt he would take a dump on someones new born child. Young Tuomas might have made such mistakes, but he is too smart not to learn from those mistakes. But the big question is: would FIRE fit in between NW songs in a concert? If unmodified the answer would be a big NO. NW has such overkill in awesome things going on, that would make this song look bland (even when it is not).
Just as Nightwish has never performed Tuomas's "Scrooge" songs nor Toumas & Troy's (and Johanna, Tuomas's wife's) AURI songs, there wasn't much chance of them ever performing Floor solo songs. There are times and places and people for each thing. Maybe once Nightwish can finally get a tour out of the way, some other projects can get some time in the limelight. But then again, there's a new Nightwish album in the works so... Who knows.

As for the song - I listened to the opinions of several reactors, and the most significant for me are the ones that talked about getting out of the pandemic numbness / hibernation, and returning to an intensely lived life.
I completely agree with you that this is a mainstream song, and I don't think it will ever be played in the symphonic metal context of Nightwish. In my opinion, it is the result of the last 2 years of sedimentation, years in which Floor saw herself alone (like all of us) and decided to give an explicit shape to this creative flow, after doing some experiments with the home covers from the pandemic (she also talked about it in a few episodes of her YT channel, in the "Storytime" series). This was the "engine", following her success in the TV show "Beste Zangers 2019" and her solo shows that followed in the Netherlands, in which she successfully "touched" other musical genres, and "recapitulated" songs from her entire career.
I look forward to the whole album, it will definitely be something special.

Im sure the album will be amazing. And like Floor said in her livestreem, this is different - its not metal because she already does that with Nightwish. And she wanted to find her own voice.

In the last weeks, she was part of the TV production "Sing meinen Song - das Tauschkonzert" (Sing My Song -The Exchange Concert) from the german "VOX" TV cannel. In this production every singer has the chance to perfom one orignal new song. The IXth season will be aried from April 26th onwarts. We don´t know it yet, but this might be hers original new song. To the concept of the show: Every evening one singer is in the focus. The others perform one song of thier choice and in thier style from the catalog of the focused singer. The focused Singer performed also one (new) song.

Yes Jen. If we all target the same stations, everyone could call in from anywhere long distance to a specific location and continuously make the request for Floor's single. We need a leader to tell us where to call in the request. The radio station would be obligated to play her single by mad popularity of her fans. This is the only way we can get her into the main stream in North America. We need a plan of action asap..

Yes, this is very mainstream sounding and I'm pretty sure that's exactly what Floor is aiming at. It's her way to attract a bigger audience and through that hoping to offer a stepping stone to symphonic metal. It's exactly like you said: she hopes to get a foot between the door on her way to gain popularity amongst mainstream music fans.
I don't think Nightwish will ever touch this song, foremost since all band members have their own side projects and the band has always respected that.
She also said that she wanted to something else than metal because she has done that for the past 20 years already and is in THE biggest band in the Genre. So I think that she just wanted to have something really different - but let’s face it, she sounds like Floor and not like mainstream no matter what she does 😅
And she said she already sings the metal written by the most genius writer - there's no point in trying to compete that (knowing she'd never exceed Tuomas as a writer of symphonic metal & lyrics)
All Nightwish members have their own sideprojects, but that's all planned around their number one commitment which is Nightwish. I do think her idea behind this mainstream sideproject is to get people interested and curious. Floor expressed multiple times that she was always frustrated by the lack of general awareness of Nightwish or (Symphonic) Metal as a genre. In the Netherlands that awareness came with her performing in 'Beste Zangers', which made a huge impression and led to a lot of new fans. After that the Nightwish concert in the Ziggo Dome (capacity 17000) was sold out in a matter of hours. They planned a second concert, sold out too. These side projects do help.
She's recording/filming the German equivalent to Beste Zangers (Sing meinen Song "Sing my Song") with some German singers (who all have nothing on her), I guess to get more mainstream awareness of herself here, beyond the Nightwish army

Agree 100%. I was a little iffy in verse one, too calm. Heart voice but lacking power. The. It shifted and shifted again when the drums and guitar came in. Very much like Floor’s take on Beste Zangers. To start close to traditional and then bring in the power and metal. I find that I like it better every time I hear it. I can’t recommend enough checking out an earlier Floor project called Northward. One self titled album is all we have, but it’s amazing. My favorites on it are While Love Died (a damn shame THAT never made it on the radio), Big Boy, Timebomb, and Northwards. While Love Died also has a great video!

Thanks for doing a reaction to this song. I know this is meant to be a pop song, but it is so far above the crap we are fed today from other pop "artists!" I hope it gets radio airplay. If this is what it takes to get more people exposed to Nightwish, I'm all for it. I'd rather see them play arenas in North America than crappy little clubs. But getting exposure for Nightwish isn't the only reason I wish Floor success. She deserves it! I hope her doing a bunch of solo stuff doesn't make waves in Nightwish. I want them all to succeed, preferably together.

Great reaction and a gorgeous song. I have seen other commenters (not reactors) who said it took several listens to like this because it sounds different but for me this is vintage Floor. I wonder if those people have only heard her in Nightwish. I get echoes of her work in After Forever (Energize Me), ReVamp (Sweet Curse), her covers (Oblivion), or Beste Zangers (Euphoria). Her recent works on TV showed her she could do it and feel good doing about anything now. I think you are spot on. And this song is so much dripping Floor sll over. If you listen to some of her earlier she has written, like "Strong" and "Sweet Curse" - she has the same depth in her expression of the feelings. I know she says that this is about getting out of the Pandemic, but I also hear her express the emotions and feelings in a relationship / marriage - which I believe is written on purpose by Floor. She is great with lyrics - just look a all the lyrics from After Forever, ReVamp and Northward, she has written - this is so much Floor, using her powers to describe something that she has to get out.

I think most of us get the difference between her solo career & her career as a front woman for Nightwish. I wouldn’t expect her to play this song during a Nightwish performance. Nightwish is Tuomas’s vehicle. When Nightwish isn’t touring she’s able to go on a solo tour & perform her solo stuff & some Nightwish stuff. Otherwise I enjoyed your reaction as per usual. Glad you are Back, Hope all is Well, I hear Floor as an Artist with a Signature of Tones and Colors that are going home with warm thoughts, A Short Story in the Songs She can bring, She can Change Songs she "covers" the Lyrics take hold in the Mind, She can Lead the Audience into the Music drag out the emotions (Anger and Hope) (Awe and Happiness). She is a Performer, but She Performs as her Self , Not a constructed persona to perform. She Brings new Material to the World with the Same Force.
The "burn the silence down..." part reminds of a song (cant remember which) from Swedish melancholic poprock band Kent. Her sitting in the car dressed like that is also very reminiscent of the video to their song "Dom Andra". So I'm curious if she's a fan. Their albums "Vapen & ammunition" and "Du & jag döden" are great.

Not much of a commenter but I'm glad to see you're back. Been following you since your GLS reaction (tbh generally just watch Nightwish reactions) and I thoroughly enjoy the content you make. I'm sorry about your fur baby, losing family is never easy. Fire is a song that has taken me a few listens to really get into the groove but I think that's just because I am so used to the NW sound and this isn't the same sound yet it is still a great song. I enjoy it now after listening to it a few times and watching a few reactions to it. This shows I gotta branch out and listen to more. For the next song from NW I'd recommend Song of My Self or continue Human Nature and listen to Music, the first song on the album.
"Music" is next up on my NW list, so hopefully I can get to it this week.

Also her version of Shallow is way better and totally different of Lady Gaga's one. "I Don't Know A Thing About Love" is a great emotional tornado and of course the "Phantom of the Opera'" duet with Henk Poort is phenomenal.
I can't help it, but in parts, it reminds me of some of the best, classic James Bond movie title songs.

If we even were to strategize specific radio channels in various locations to target to make a greater impact. People from everywhere could target these channels. Call in long distance to make it happen, that's the only way it happens. The Nightwish Army can make it happen. We just need to pick the radio station and location to request like mad.. You should definitely do "Sweet Curse", another song she was heavily involved. She was responsible for the lyrics and the vocal arrangement. So you can experience more of Floor's personal tone...I recommend the live version she lately did with Henk Poort in Amsterdam, for whom she indeed was fancying in her youth :-)
Floor's song, While Love Died(Northward) from 2018 is also Floor testing the water. She has that "voice" that goes straight into your heart, in a good way...not like my ex. I have wondered if I had heard her voice singing, before I had seen her singing, what would my reaction have been. At this point, I don't care anymore. I will be surprised if FIRE doesn't get airplay. Guess we'll see. Great reaction.
While Love Died is an awesome song, the video is about as awesome as a video can get. Completely different Floor from anything she has done. And yes, her voice is great, but I also like watching her sing the songs better than just listening to them.

First of all, let me start by saying that I found your channel yesterday, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Started from the first video and got up to here, so I think it says something good.
Now I didn't look at videos up the list so I hope I'm not gonna write about things that you are already aware of.
It looks like you're going deeper and deeper into the Floor Jansen rabbit hole, so let me recommend to you her original band After Forever. After Forever, along with Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation basically kick started the Symphonic Metal genera. As such they had a lot of tours and shows together (videos from back then are hard to come by and most are really low quality).
If you ask me the first 2 After Forever albums really need to get remastered, but they are REALLY good albums.
I'm sure people already told you about her first Solo project ReVamp which was also great. And I saw in the comments here, that people mentioning the 12th season of beste zangers which she took part of. you can find the show with Eng subtitle online, so if you wanna cry a little I highly recommend watching it. She also participated in the German version of the show. Again, if you wanna cry highly recommended. Watching people react to Floor singing to them their own songs is crazy fun.

I concur wholeheartedly. It sounds like the type of song you could hear in a mainstream TV commercial and I don’t mean that as a bad thing, I desperately want the U.S. to discover Floor and Nightwish and I believe this side of Floor could, as you say, wedge her foot in the door!

It's a really good song that shows her maturation as an artist, and as a 41 yr old woman; It IS her now, and shows that she's very comfortable in her skin. However, Bro - if you want to get your doors blown off, ya gotta check out her previous solo/collab project that she released in 2018. Northward - "While love died" (official). The entire album is fantastic, and with the support of mainstream radio, this would have put her over the top of Amy Lee and Halestorm (as far as American audiences go, in my opinion.)

I joined her release livechat after the video premiere last friday. It was very interesting, she talked a lot about her motives, plans and her new music. The whole upcoming album (this fall) will be rock/pop, not metal. She does enough of that with Nightwish (which she will continue for sure), so she wanted to explore something new musically. In songwriting and production she went back to her roots in the Netherlands, recruiting her team there. Fun fact: a cowriter for some of the songs was once a student of hers, when she taught contemporary music at a college in Nijmegen. 😂

She told in a livestream (on January?), when shen originally revealed that there is a solo project song coming, that it will be pop. When I first heard this I thought that if this is where modern pop is heading, I'm all for it 😂

Floor has said the two sides to her personality are like two wolves. one likes to be comfortable at home, curled up with family. the other, likes to run wild and howl. she's a total workhaholic. from 2014 to 2019 she was nonstop. 2014 - making, and rehearsing new NW album. 2015 -2016 tour. got married and pregnant. 2017 - 2018 gave birth, recorded and performed with Ayreon. toured with NW for Decades album. 2019 appeared on Beste Zangers. Solo tour through the Neatherlands. recorded new NW album. being cooped up at home, right as NW dropped their latest album was challenging for them all. i'm half of the opinion that had Covid not happened, Marko would not have left the band. "Oblivion" was my favorite of the solo things she did at home. home was no cake walk for her. she tested positive in the summer. mild case, isolated at home. when they were rehearsing for the virtual show they did, she had a gallstone attack that required emergency removal of her gal bladder, and her spleen. know it was gb and something else.

I will say this here I scrolled down and didn't see it. You should go watch and react to Floor Jansen at Beste Zangers. It helps to see the build up to each song. The simple explanation a group of singers each takes a seat while the others honor them with songs of theirs or ones important to them. Floor was not well known in her home country. The first episode was honoring Henk Port who is Floor's idol and part of why she became a self proclaimed music nerd. I sent you an email with information about this series of tracks/shows
well I was listening to the radio yesterday when they were talking about the new songs that came out and there was no mention of this song on that station. I love love love this melody, but you're right it's more main stream.
I would be very surprised if Nightwish would ever perform this ( I don't expect it) Then again it would be awesome cause Tuomas would probably add some heavier metal component to it, which this song misses (at least in my opinion it would make it better)
Tuomas listened to the song before the rest of the world and found it to be good. He did not contribute anything here.
I don't think Nightwish will play this song! This is Floor's song and not Tuomas'. If Floor asked him to adopt this song into a Nightwish version, I believe he will do this, because he's so thankful to Floor for rescuing the band. But without Floor's permission - no.
@@TomTomson81 Well if Tuomas would have thought the song was lacking something...I doubt he would take a dump on someones new born child. Young Tuomas might have made such mistakes, but he is too smart not to learn from those mistakes.
But the big question is: would FIRE fit in between NW songs in a concert? If unmodified the answer would be a big NO. NW has such overkill in awesome things going on, that would make this song look bland (even when it is not).
Just as Nightwish has never performed Tuomas's "Scrooge" songs nor Toumas & Troy's (and Johanna, Tuomas's wife's) AURI songs, there wasn't much chance of them ever performing Floor solo songs. There are times and places and people for each thing. Maybe once Nightwish can finally get a tour out of the way, some other projects can get some time in the limelight. But then again, there's a new Nightwish album in the works so... Who knows.
