Eliot! Did you seriously not know about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? It's been a tradition in the city since the 1920's! Also, let Nic make some design choices in the new apartment. I think a sofa table a couple inches lower than the back of your sofa would work better for you than the low bench sized shelves. That way you could have a lamp at the right height for when you're sitting on the sofa, etc!
