    Well, what do you all think?

      Nice tower. How tall? How many sqft of antenna wind load can you put on it. 73, N2AO.

      @@gordonfrank Thanks, its 50 feet tall. I don't have exact wind load but spec'd it for a Mosley Pro67C with Alpha rotator and small wire antenna for West Coast winds. Thanks for watching

    Wow. Lots of tension at the base point on that rod. The pwoer of steel and electric motors is amazing

      Had a pucker factor first few times I lowered it, now no big deal. Thanks for watching

    Wow, you just dig a hole 4x4x4feet deep and fill the whole hole with concrete. You never over dig the size of the hole. You never pour a little bit in the centre of an oversize hole and backfill the rest with dirt and stone. As soon as you get a big rain and wind that baby is going to be tilting. Good Luck with that Man!!

      Thats funny, been up 3 years and straight as an arrow, thanks for the kind words.. ha ha Also 10 ft deep by 4x4 so pretty sure its not going anywhere

    Hi Brent, that is outstanding project! Looks good and it will definitely improve communication. Will you replicate this project in Montana? Take care!

      Roberto, we will take it all apart and reconstruct it in Montana only having to replace the cage and rods in the cement base. Hope to see you soon. Brent

    I have ordered a Heights Tower for delivery this summer. I have 2 questions for you. 1) How did you dig the hole? 2) How far did you have to run power for the gear motor and what size wire did you have to use for the run?

    • @Whiskey7BackRoads
      @Whiskey7BackRoads  ปีที่แล้ว

      I dug the hole with a mid size excavator and stepped it a little to get down that far. I did not run power. I bring out my generator to lower. I did this knowing it will be moved to Montana when I retire. Thanks for watching

    Impressive!!! What kind of torque/power does that screwdrive have to be able to pull up that tower?

    • @Whiskey7BackRoads
      @Whiskey7BackRoads  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It runs on 110volt power but has a fairly high amp draw. Can't run a long extension cord so I will eventually have power about 20 feet away. Thanks for watching!!

    If I wanted to do something like that, could you tell us about what is necessary to get the stuff off of the truck. another words, do I need a forklift or something ? thanks

    • @Whiskey7BackRoads
      @Whiskey7BackRoads  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I unloaded the truck with my tractor. It's a mid size at 40 horse. It handled it fine. I think they can arrange offload but charge for it. Once on the ground pretty easy to handle. Thanks for watching!!

      And worst case you can take the sections off one by one. They aren't heavy.

    im having trouble so we have replaced the ball bearings and used the same big washer but the washer is beveling cause of the nut with the set screws but when we rise the tower more that a quarter of the way it smashes the baring and washer so tight that it doesnt freely spin any idea what problem i may be having i had to replace the motor the tower wasnt fully down

      @Whiskey7BackRoads  ปีที่แล้ว

      Adan, I am not sure without seeing a video. If the nut and washer are getting bound up, I suspect a bend or bow in the rod. My email is good on here and also QRZ, feel free to send me a short video and I can take a look. Thanks for watching

    I thought you had to wait 30 days for concrete to cure?

    • @Whiskey7BackRoads
      @Whiskey7BackRoads  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't remember how many days it was but all is fine. I could never wait that long to play with the new toy!!

    What was the cost of the tower and motor?

    • @Whiskey7BackRoads

      It was spendy, 12k plus including shipping from east coast to Washington
