Had a dentist appointment a month ago, I did use to carry at the dentist but because of a recent news story about a guy that came in and shot up a dentist office in texas it was in the back of my mind.

Great scenario. She had me on the edge of my seat in the second situation.

Dr got hit! This one hits close to home! I've been thinking about scenarios that could occur in my office and potential options. Dr office is very tricky! Likelihood of actually carrying there is low. Many, maybe most, are non-permissive environments. If it is permissive and you're the patient, how do you expect to deal with having concealed weapon on you when the doctor is going to examine you? Even if the problem is your hand or foot, that is REALLY CLOSE contact. Also, you might have to lie down on the table face up, face down, and where is your weapon then? You might step on the scale to be weighed, undress or change into a gown.

I always tell myself I won't risk getting shot or going to prison for strangers who choose not to be responsible for their own defense, but even as I say that, I don't think I have it in my to run away leaving people to die at the hand of a dirt bag.

My first responsibility is to myself and my family. After that it has to be very clear cut. Do I want to spend 50 K to protect strangers? I can’t remember who asked that question, but it is valid.

She should not be carrying, she is not trained enough, and is scared of the firearm.

She recognizes that she doesn't have enough training to step into the fray. But she isn't carrying to protect *others*; they have the same right to carry *for themselves* and chose not to do so. She is not responsible for them, but only for herself.
Many who carry can't see themselves NOT "going into the fray," and can't understand those who would not. It is a very personal decision to make, and one that not enough trainers take the time to discuss with their students!
There is no guarantee the *good guy* will come out ok, or even can help the situation.
It isn't said, but she could be thinking of her family at home she is responsible for ... and chooses not to get involved for their sake. ~ Unfortunately, look at what happened to Daniel Perry in the subway of NYCity currently in court fighting for his future!
She is carrying for the situation that requires she save herself. For a lot of people, that is sufficient reason. And she demonstrates that in the second scenario.
I think she now realizes that she needs more training ~ hopefully she will get it.

You guys need to find a way to get FPD suggested more. Not enough ppl see this 2k views in a week is a travesty! Maybe a channel that is only FPD? Or partnering with some of the guntubers ?
