Jazz and 'sounding' jazzy have always been a mystery to me, although I play country/bluegrass which do have a similar approach when it comes to soloing. This is a very eye-opening lesson and I thank you for that. Explaining material like this in 20 minutes is a challenge. You are a marvelous teacher. Thanks Dave!
Walking bass line is something i have been struggling to work out for a long time, after watching this video i finally understand the ideas behind it. Thank you so much, you are an amazing teacher :)
I think the rest of my guitar life will be in Level One. Each time I get a teacher, all I want is playing songs. I Need to understand. These Bass Lines I really like 'em. Still I dont get it well. Thnks for your time, Dave.
Very nice Dave. We've been waiting to hear from you here in California. Anyway, I find learning the walking bass to be very challenging, even though I play guitar including playing some Bossa Nova. With Bossa Nova I play the bass notes of course, but simultaneously with the top notes of the chord. Pinch and/or play them at the same time. In any event, this is timely, because I still want to learn the walking bass and appreciate you taking on this lesson. Thank you!!
You are a great player Dave, and thanks for posting. When you call out a chord such a Amaj7, you write it in "Words" rather than the standard chord diagrams... Why? Best Regards from SoCal
@@DaveNiskinMusic Thanks for the feedback. I have been looking Maton guitars very closely, and since you play finger style like I do, made the decision so much clearer. What are you planning to arrange next?
Dude it'd be much more helpful to start with a demo of what ppl will learn by the end of this instead of a rant of why you like it (we dont have a clue about 'it')

I was wondering is that Maton custom made? And how does it compare to your Taylor since you play fingerstyle?

You talked way too much at the beginning I lost interest and didn’t bother watching the actual lesson maybe keep that in mind next time just saying
nah that's your problem not his, your loss!
maybe if you didnt have the attention span of a fuckin goldfish you'd bother to actually learn the thing
