I can relate some of my old art the anatomy looks better, and the backgrounds, now I feel like I went backwards, but even my newer art there are still some gems.
and idk why that happens?? 🙃 and i even tell myself i need to do this and that to be better, but i improve slower than when i did the same thing when i was younger 😭
Before watching the video, I just want to say almost all "art regression I've seen is from: -adjustments to artstyle change. -artblock. -burnout or general exhaustion. -physical or mental health issues Your probably fine :)
your first couple of art pieces will always be held dearly but, i’ve noticed that over time you’d prefer to branch out and try new things which is definitely normal. you mentioned how you stopped drawing noses but i find it pretty common to neglect some details when you’re experimenting with your art. no matter how much you’ve gotten better and improved, art is a freeform so there is inconsistency and imperfection which causes us to doubt ourselves and be burnt out. really good video gigi ✌️
I hate to be cliche but this really is inspiring. Especially that last piece. And also especially because I feel like I draw a bit similar to this, was a lot of fun to watch because of it. Now I just need to find some motivation lol ( _:
Honestly it all looks great to me but I get the struggle. When you feel that youve regressed and that youre not as imaginative as you were. However sometimes that feeling of regression comes from trying new things. Afterall if you've nailed a certain style of vibe, it's a challenge to then go outside your bounds.
I'm like this but with my music It's always very interesting to me to see how different creative fields can experience the danger feelings about things :O It's always worth going back to your old stuff 😊
