Exactly Noreen, but nobody has no clue, they have never worked nor experienced, nor even realize the amount of turnover a bakery has to do. I'm a "professional" baker, I'm this, I'm that, working from your home you probably work on one cake and it can still come out sloppy. They criticize, criticize, until they can produce something themselves, which they never do then that's when we can really see how it's really done. Smh
Um...excuse me, I was in the business for 11 years. And yes you have to be quick, but you can also be neat and take pride in the work you're sending out.

I "replaced" the cardboard hinged lid (with a "sturdy" cookie made from a template similar to yours)...but, I still covered the cookie with the buttercream frosting...so that it could still look like your BEAUTIFUL one. I was not so good with making the roses (I'll have to work at that aspect). I cheated and bought them from a place that charged way too much. However, I'm inspired by you; therefore, I will go back to the drawing board and try to "perfect" my roses. Yours are so LOVELY! May God Bless you, Got Cake! *P.S. Can you "FREEZE" it and ship on dry ice in a styro-foam container (like Omaha steak does)? FEDEX NEXT DAY SHIPPING..if you could I would purchase one of your INCREDIBLE CAKES in a heart beat! You should sell these beauties on ETSY.COM, as well. Please reach the masses, we LOVE your cakes! :-D

Notice how it gets so sloppy towards the end....every detail counts when it comes to artistry in cake decorating. That is why people pay 1000's of $ for specialty cakes. Im sorry. I guess I am detail oriented.

Could you please tell me what the tool you used to make the rose's with. I am trying to buy a few thing's at a time then start practicing decorating cake's. I have 11 grandkids who I make cake's for most of their birthday's but all I can do is ice it put candle's on them my goal is to get the rest of the tools I need practice this year then next year try doing some of them. I have saved alot of them so can try to make a few. Thank you for sharing your fabulous talent with us. Means so much. 😃

I probably would not have used a cake board for the "handle". I would have made a big cookie or gumpaste if I was going to do it like that. It is a sloppy cake.
when you have a business, you are on a time schedule...you cant be like at home...taking forever to make it look absolutely perfect....you have to be fast and have it look decent as well, which it is. Maybe if you got out of your kitchen and into the real world you would understand that the cake shouldnt take more than 10 min to decorate from start to finish
I think the finished cake is beautiful. I wouldn't want a cake that looks so perfect as if it was decorated by a machine. And besides a real wicker basket is going to have some defects and areas that aren't picture perfect. This appears to be a commercial bakery. They don't have time to sit there and spend hours on a cake like this which probably doesn't cost a lot. It's not a $4000.00 wedding cake.

It was not a perfect cake but hey, it was done in less than 10 minutes! Sloppy??? Not perfect but I still enjoyed watching it!
