i keep all makeup for years and use them all for years, different names and never had any problems on my skin or whatever, so that 6 month or 12 or 24 its all to make us buy MORE, and these expensive ones like Dior or ANY other super crazy awful expensive than my friend these are for LIFE ill wear them for decades, and still do

Ya know that Silver Essential palette looks very pretty but I am just not a Dior gal...much more Chanel or Guerlain for me. But I've got to tell ya I have used the new ND Nude palette & wow is that quite a eye look I created the last two days!! 🩷🩷

I loved Dior eyeshadows before they went into “clean” beauty and changed the beautiful formula with a disaster, but I never liked the backstage range. So after reformulation I stopped buying Dior eyeshadows. I don’t believe in 6 month/one year shelf life for powder formula. I had Dior quints for 5-6 years and they performed very well, no eye infection or other issue. If you are the only user, wash brushes regularly and keep them in a cool dry place they will last much longer.
I’m waiting for Tom Ford and Chanel holiday collection. I already saw the new quad from TF on Instagram and I like it. I hope is not sheer and I can’t wait to see reviews.:)

But i think i wait for a new formulation from them, enjoying in the meantime what i already have. I’d like to wash the brushes a lot. In a way, when I wash them often it’s less work because there’s less of them to wash. I can’t imagine letting it go. Seriously you could wash brushes for hours and it’s not exciting ha ha

I do not have so much brushes as you i think, but i hate washing brushes, but of course, sensitive skin, sensitive eyes, i have now, i think 9 of the BK 101 brushes, it's also the chronical pain, but i have to do this better, good reminder, thanks dear!!!

Love the slightly smokier look in the second look. :) The whilst fabric would drive me nuts 😂and the 6 months shelf-life is a no go for me. For that price that is a definite con.

The colour story of the larger palette feels quite Spring-ish to me too. These releases in September being called 'holiday releases' is bewildering. Aren't there further releases closer to the actual holiday season? I may be thinking of holiday sets... with all the pumpkin spice and Christmas trees brought out in what still is Summer, how the heck do we know what time of the year it really is 😜
On the other hand... when you get this with Christmas and a shelflife of 6 months...it just covers until the end of spring😅
I think they are kind of following a Fashion Calendar like I used to go to the trade shows for spring in August. And then in March I was seeing fall. So it’s almost like they’re doing that but when they do it to the consumer it’s totally confusing

I like everything. I have to go check my collection. It seems I have a cool tone palette that resembles this. I’m not sure. With that being said. I’m going with the warm. But, then again. I think this holiday. I should treat my self to a brand I have never tried. Um Surratt, Suqqu or maybe one of Hermes powders Idk something new to me.

Hmmmm....let me think.....for cool tone, and I don't wear a lot of cool tones...tho I am home to the Cool Tone Revolution Army, I personally don't look great in cool tones but I'd say the Vieve Ninetease palette. And neutrals....def the new Natasha Denona I Need a Nude palette. Oh, and your swatches are up on instagram ❤️
I'm waiting for the next set of holiday from dior. I saw pictures of the big one with 5 eyeshadow, 2 blush, 1 highlighter,4 lip. The colours this year look beautiful in it, I skipped last years but for sure getting this years.

I think that’s probably why I was so excited to use it as a Blush. Because I would prefer that it was all blush.
I adore Dior! I had to order the cool toned one for fear of being dishonorably discharged from our Army. On a side note, have you seen the movie Mrs Harris Goes To Paris? It’s about a 1950s maid who falls in love with her client’s Dior dress, and decides to save up for one herself. It’s absolutely delightful, and the Dior dresses are to die for!

It was nominated for an Oscar for costume design. Some of the dresses were vintage, borrowed from Dior. It's a feel good movie, too, and we can all use some of that!

I honestly used the heck out of my large Dior Mitzah palette. I’m still using it honestly it’s a great one and done even has some blush options. I love the cheetah packaging too!! The packing on this budoir one is gorgeous!! I’m thinking about it it’s tempting ❤. Great reviews as always it was just what I was looking for 🖤
I am so incredibly glad that it was helpful. I will say that that cheetah print palette is iconic for a reason. I’m not sure this particular one is as cohesive but the packaging is gorgeous

Good morning ❤Rebecca looking forward for the new Dior backstage show palettes 🎨 I have the rosewood one 😊 love 😍 ya having another hard day with pressures again and got sick 🤮 in the middle of the night 🌃 but it was only acid came up and phlegm yuck but I'm ok 👌 for now just pressures are tough with my breathing of the pulmonary arterial hypertension we are hoping it's just the hernia gallstones issues that's making my pulmonary work harder due to blockage of chest cavity area and ribs so we will find out if not then it's just my whole heart ♥ issues 😮

Hi lovely Rebecca !! Back on my phone 🎉 technician sorted the issues for me . The back stage formula to my knowledge has always been very good . The old formula from Dior eyeshadows to me were amazing quality. I have not purchased the new releases . I would never use them up in 6 months , few years more like . The backstage warm palette is a shade to warm for me . I like the purple shades in the cool palette, but I wouldn’t use the silver shades . With all these new beauty releases I have to think what I’m going to use every day and enjoy . I’ve just treated myself ahead of my birthday in October to the Suqqu 126 that you had gifted and wore in your video ❤. Lovely Review and preset looks .🤗💕

Thanks so much for the review Rebecca. Was trying to convince myself to pick this up since I love the flora miss Dior packaging. I liked the color story in the 10 pan Mitzah but did not like the cheetah packaging.

Yikes! Speaking for myself, if it is true the shelf life is only 6 months I won’t purchase. I really like the silver essentials palette. But, I don’t need it. I recently bought the ND, I Need A Nude. I own the ND, Glam palette. And, I can replicate the other shadows. But, I love watching and listening to you. I sit here like a nut case talking to you. ❤❤❤

I respect and support doing good things for the environment. That said, some of the "clean" products aren't very long-lasting. I bought some lipsticks from Sephora's clean line; but if you accidentally get them wet, the cardboard tube gets sloppy and doesn't hold up. Am I going to invest $$$ in a product that only lasts 6 months? Honestly, no. I did invest in Dior's Holiday velvet clutch last year. OMG, the unveiling was so fun, so luxe! I made it an event with my 20something daughter who is also a makeup enthusiast. The colors, the textures, the options... all rich and fabulous. I do love the Backstage cool option. Consider me a Cool Revolution Army member, lol. I'm cool/fair with dark hair and hazel eyes. I can see that the warm tones complement you, Rebecca, the way the cool tones bring my skin to life. Hi Rebecca! I just saw the holiday collection on Dior’s website, so when I found out you had it, I immediately had to check out your video! You saved me $140! I agree with you on the colors in their holiday palette. It definitely looks more like spring, and the colors don’t seem very cohesive together. Personally, I like the Dior Backstage palettes so much better, especially the cool toned palette with those purples and silver.
I always think Backstage is the way to go with Dior. No frills but still so Dior!

Yay! I’m so glad you reviewed the Dior Silver Essentials palette! That’s the one that I am most interested in! Of all the palettes the SE one is the only one I will pick up. The larger palette has really pretty packaging and but that’s it🤷🏾♀️

Oooohhh I want the Silver Essentials palette. It’s so pretty. I’m not loving the 6 months, but I will risk it and have it for years! I’d have almost no eyeshadow if I paid attention to those dates!
I always have to mix in a little warm on my eyes, usually in my crease, when I’m wearing cool tones. It balances it out for me.
The large palette confuses me. The pans are enormous and the color story for holiday is baffling. If I had that I’d definitely use it as an eye and face.
A white fabric covered palette would be ruined at my house in 2.2 seconds. Yikes!
The color Story in the white fabric is kind of ridiculous. It’s almost like they put all of their energy into the packaging and then realized they forgot to put eyeshadow in there. As for the six month shelflife the only thing that concerns me is that it’s so small. Like when it says 24 months, I don’t care. 24 months means 10 years to me but six months? That’s so shockingly short that I’m afraid they mean it.
I love the packaging on the expensive one but 6 months just won't cut it.

Tracie! I knew I could count on you for hating the pan layout in the Dior with me but the added bonus of you ALSO missing the eye primer is a delight!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I am not trying to be flip BUT i really want to understand what is attractive about that layout? It is abstract, ok some may like that style but it’s not user friendly from even a makeup artist perspective. The primer sold me! I mean, look how popular the Patrick Ta primer/creme shadow is in his palettes. Sure, Dior doesn’t have the Ta Flap
but the primer was good.

They needed a ta flap!!! my issue with the layout of the bigger pallet is that the pans are too big and then the other pans are weirdly shaped because of the middle pans and the middle pants are strange colors so it becomes the interaction of the colors and the layout which annoy me.
I can't do those price tags if they only have a 6 month shelf life. Doesn't matter how much they may interest me...if I'm spending that kind of money on a palette I need it to be more of an investment than 6 months.
And that’s the question that we need to know. Is this going to hard pan or mold? Or is the six months just kind of a joke.
My silver palette is on the way. I was very tempted to get the full palette because it is so different but can't justify that cost for what is potentially truly a 6 month shelf life. I am new to your channel, thank you for your thoughts!

Colour story of the big eye palette is giving resort vibes! I'm gonna pass even though it's stunning! That white fabric would get so dirty so fast.

I’m really so out of the loop these days due to family issues and now I’m getting over having the Flu 🤒. It’s been a very rough two years for us.
I haven’t purchased any of the new reformulated Dior offerings. Have heard formulas were not great compared to the last reformulations.
The packaging on the $140 pallet is beautiful but since it’s a makeup palette I know I would make a mess of it. The color story is definitely Not cohesive. I really don’t know what they were thinking when picking this color story.
Cool toned Backstage palette is a definite pass for me. The Warm palette would be closer to my liking but I’m really not inclined to use Red shadows on my lids. That palette was definitely too warm on you.
As to the shelf life. All my “old” Dior pallets are marked as 6 months shelf life. So the shelf life on these new reformulated products are marked the same.
I’ve been using my “old” palettes way way past the shelf marked date without any issues. It will be interesting to see how well these new versions hold up. Personal preference…although I did use the primer that’s included in my older Backstage palettes, I’m kinda glad they removed them from the new versions. The primers can get a bit messy from the eyeshadow powders in the palette.
Okay, that’s what this old gal has got to say today. I think I will go lay down on the couch under a nice cozy throw blanket.

The Dior Show pallette has pretty colors but most of them are not really traditional eye shadow colors.
Agreed. It’s untraditional and therefore interesting and yet not the most usable

Yes. The color store is pretty but weird. Like I don’t want yellow eyeshadow. Gold is one thing but yellow? And yellow and pink along with a golden shade and a purple? I just don’t know where they’re going with this

I am sorry but no. That is ridiculous. 6 months is not long enough for an eyeshadow pallette with that price tag and that lovely packaging. An eyeliner sure, even a lipstick I can get on board with but an eyeshadow pallette should at least have 12 months or if its 6 months it needs to be tiny and use-up-able within 6 months. The impact on the environment of manufacturing and then throwing that pallette away - even if recycled (is it recyclable?) Is ridiculous. Not having it. No no no.

The 6 month shelf life is a marketing strategy, not true! Most shadows last 2 years, So I’m not worried about that statement. That’s ridiculous.
I really think it’s ridiculous to but with new clean beauty? I worry that it’s not ridiculous. That would be terrible
🤣Dior is going for broke , going to make us broke with their 6 months shelf life. By the time spring comes the spring pallet will be expired . It's just so weird. Also weird to make these Limited pallets and put a 6 month on them and they can't even be replaced in 6 months. Give me some preservitives I'm not trying to get an eye infection, I'm not into all this "Clean"stuff I want to know I'm not gonna get some funky stuff and waste money for this stuff to go bad 6 months and sooner. Not loven the Dior show colorstory, random but I will be buying the cool toned backstage . I would have already had it if the site didnt just keep kicking me off and not letting me checkout. Also the white fabric packaging?? Why not make it a hard plastic type with the same image, I can see disaster happening with that pretty white fabric being a makeup product.
That really is the question, isn’t it? Are these really gonna start getting moldy or hardpan after only six months? I guess we’ll know soon enough
There’s another DIOR es palette offering and lipgloss is included. I prefer that color story but not a fan of the lip products inside the palette.

I need to find out when the holiday things are launching at Chanel. Because I’m ready to go ha ha. I do catalog and keep my make up in clear shoeboxes with tight lids. I do not wear it when it is years old but I do keep it so I can do swatch comparisons. I really don’t do stash videos because I feel like it almost seems excessive and obsessive. But I’m not a collector. I really do this professionally so I have a lot of make up but I don’t really have a lot of anything else, if that makes sense ha ha.

I don't know if the typical dior target customer is very into "clean beauty " . They jumped on bandwagon that may potentially backfire. I'm new to dior and I'd love to get some classic quints like soft cashmere, but with the new formula being what it is, why bother. Better look elsewhere. 6 months is a joke for the money. Please keep us posted on how these hold up with time. On a similar note, i got the new reformulated backstage blushes, and they feel hardpan already after 2 uses. They still deposit pigment on the face but they are unswatchable. This is how they felt in store too!!! But i told myself people with wet dirty hands handled them. I'm a bit disappointed

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty yes this has not happened to me before, except with the OG BB highlighter brick and it still took a year or so to do this. I've used nars, CT, HG, Marc jacobs, etc etc, never seen anything like this. They were unswatchable in store too. The SA had to scratch them quite hard to get a swatch!!! And melbourne is not a particular humid city. 🤷♀️

Interesting yes - are they covering themselves because they haven't tested it for use past 6 months. Or do they genuinely think at 7 months it's not going to be safe/useable

Did the manufacturers of the Dior palette miss the Spring launch deadline? Not in any way am I even tempted! A very odd colour combination, why would they put white fabric on a makeup palette and 6 months shelf life??? At 140$??? 😂 Get out! The cool palette might be worth investigating though 🤔

When I was in high school, one of the science teachers would have these displays with like the year written on the bottle. So she had a copper coin immersed in Coca Cola and, like, a Twinkie (do you have those in Italy? Those horrible, processed snack cake things) in a jar and she just let it all sit for YEARS to see what would happen to them. I feel like a science teacher needs one labeled DIOR sitting there for years to be monitored.

Very much agreed. But we are finding that newer formulations with no preservatives are molding quickly. Eek!
Appreciate the prompt response 😊😊…and no preservatives is a progressive decision but it must function with smaller quantities and lower prices….or what are they expecting….that one should share makeup ….which in my opinion is disgusting since I don’t share makeup with anyone…not even my mother!!!!
