Your vid (and the one before) actually saved my barb level experience, so thank you so much for that! Before I was so frustrated with clunky HotA & stuff while not being able to restore enough fury. And now I learned that mace is a bludgeoning weapon, this makes it so much easier :) Kudos!
100%, echo this. This build is incredibly fun, strong, easy to gear. I respec'ed to another build, destroying a legendary I didn't realize was carrying my low-lvl barb. Tried to go Hota, felt horrible, tried to go back to my whirlwind-ish build, awful,. Didn't even change my gear,, respec'ed in the direction of this build and immediately loved it. Got some gear justa little better in alignment with this build and now it's tearing it up.. Can't wait to see where this leads at high lvl.
now at late tier 3 and early tier 4 I changed to HotA because the damage of doubleswing does not scale enough towards the end of the game. But I loved dblsw it and the positive experience during my leveling journey
@@docemmit1I'm now in tier 4, pushing level 60 NM dungeons at level 76 (enemies 35-40 or so levels above me I think). I can run mid 50's efficiently and push into low 60's. I think that's pretty solid, far better than my druid did at that level (of course they did make them easier so not apples to apples). Damage still feels good when you stun, double-swing right after you pull em in (while still berserking). I am geared a bit differently in terms of legendary aspects, but not far off. More stuns than this build. Currently experimenting with berserk uptime, because when berserking, it melts even those tier 60's (surviving is the challenge). Might go for bleed for addition DMG reduction as well, will see what all I can fit in.
With this build I unlocked T3 at level 40. I then went toe to toe with The Butcher at level 46 in a lvl1 nm with no kiting. Kudos for making Barb fun Kire.
I just stumbled over this video and realized: this is exactly how i built my DS barb (with a few exceptions in terms of aspects! Huge thanks for sharing your build, that gave me some really good ideas! 👍 On my barb I'm using the aspect of anemia on my amulet for another 45% stun lucky hit, which gives every Bash (using bash as fury generator for 100% stun and fortify) and almost every 2nd hit stuns targets just because of the lucky hit powers. I just hit WT3 but never had any issues with it on WT2 or capstone dungeon. I'm also using the aspect of shared misery (on my gloves), which helps spreading stun on AoE, but I feel like I can drop it once I get my hands on the accelerating aspect (been unlucky on this so far) which enables the malignant heart constantly knocking down enemies. I'm already using the heart, but it only works every 40 kills when I get the +21% atkspeed bonus from the rotating heart thingy. Got a 20% roll on the knocking down heart, which already works with my 21% AS bonus from the other heart 😅 But I'm curious: does the windlasher aspect proc any of the weapon based cc effects through concussion or so, or does it just count as an additional damage source? Maybe it could be useful to apply vulnerable through exploit glyph later on. Or do you feel like its damage actually impacts the aoe power? Been using the dust devil's aspect on my WW barb in the beta which wasn't really powerful. Do you think windlasher is worth it? And another question: Is strength really that useful / mandatory? Felt like other affixes had a much higher impact on dps than just a few points of str, but I'm not as much into damage calculation, so maybe str counts as multiplicative and therefore is important?
The best stat I found for leveling is “Thorns”. It kills the small mobs that aren’t worth using fury on, and it kills distant enemies while I’m killing melee enemies.
Thank you for the in-depth breakdown. I’ve been trying to make frenzy double swing berzerking work but had no idea how to itemize it. I’m very tanky but I’m lacking damage currently.
Great video. Running the build and loving it. I know you’re swapping over to no shout version, but any chance there will be an endgame version of this in a build planner at any point? Thanks again for the content!
I tried your build and it works well, but I highly suggest giving bash a try. It does everything you want to do with this build and also adds an EASY way (maybe the easiest in the game) to get 100% fortify. This enables the counteroffensive passive, offers more DR and the regular Bash stuns obviously help all around. There were times where I easily staggered a dungeon boss twice before it died (which gives you few seconds of free Double Swings). Try it out, I much prefer this over every other basic skill for this build and it's maybe the only way for bash to be useful anytime soon.
I'd have to say I've been loving this build, but if you could update the paragon boards add more that would be great. I've tried a few other builds in T4 not even 65 yet they all had me frustrated but this one gets the job done no issues.
Really liking your season 1 builds, was using double swing for a bit but it felt like it really fell off lower to mid level, I switched to Rend and it’s ok. Feels kinda clunky. Now that I’m in WT3 with better gear coming in I’ll give double swing another go.
Im doing something similar but using the azurewrath with a mace, and battle trance amulet, alongside that punishing speed heart. Also use rupture to get that 30% atk spd boost. Its ridiculousness at its most finest
He’s missing out on 35% extra damage because he only uses duel wielding. I don’t understand this.. I use furious double swing to have permanent berserk And to benefit from all the berserk passives and talents (you don’t even need to hit a target with DS to keep berserk going) and take uncontrained key passive to make berserk do an additional 25% more damage. I aim to move to unbridled rage once I get my build more complete.
Confused by your comments on Forgotten Souls. If I go to enchant my gloves to try and roll on crit chance/attack speed then it says I need Fiend Rose and Veiled Crystals. What am I missing?
I did lvl 61 on T4 and he was lvl 75. Could not do much. Survived a very long time but just gave up because it was not worth it. (Same build almost as video)
@@Graszhoppa I'm using a similar stun DS , Steel grasp, even have COTA .. could not down him either sadly..my rend build had no issues with that but I prefer the DS playstyle
A much better version of this build is dropping a defensive for death blow and taking berserking instead... They buffed it to 60% and it made walking arsenal pointless. It also made your paragon points a lot less useful and you should spend much more in the paragon tree that focuses on berserking because it will get you much more damage much earlier. Source: doing all of this content 20+ levels ahead and I'm not a pro gamer/streamer
You need to keep your frenzy stacks up. This byild works great leveling with a ramalbdis if youre lucky to get one. Just cast ds frenzy to full ds frenzy to full or before vuln drops off. Dont ever let your frenzy stacks drop for the damage reduction. I also use iron skin instead of chains

Thank you bro. You saved my interest in continuing the Barbarian. I was ready to re roll in season 1 until I came across this.

The literal exact build I've been leveling with. SO MUCH BETTER then rend. Did cap stone at 57 as well
Thank you! Great stuff. I hope your channel grows exponentially.
Which weapons do you pair with which skills? And what are you using on the expertise tree
The best stat I found for leveling is “Thorns”. It kills the small mobs that aren’t worth using fury on, and it kills distant enemies while I’m killing melee enemies.
jeez, I was getting wrecked with my rend leveling build, now I just whack everything - lvl 36, really fun build thx xD
Nice breakdown. Id like to know how you know you get str roll on your weapons.
I like how there are a 100 whinging about Nerf's and you'll get a couple of pro gamer's that still break them
Thank you for the in-depth breakdown. I’ve been trying to make frenzy double swing berzerking work but had no idea how to itemize it. I’m very tanky but I’m lacking damage currently.
will you be updated your build guide on your pinned page? as in witht he paragons?
Gotta try this. Currently using hota since I found the quake aspect early but only level 49 Currently so could switch things up in wt3
If you use the Furious Double Swing upgrade you can almost have infinite up time on Berserking effect as long as you keep chopping
Awesome stuff and a great breakdown might try this build idk yet since I just hit 50 on barb
Could you lay out the gameplay loop/action sequence? Hard to track down in the video
Great video. Running the build and loving it. I know you’re swapping over to no shout version, but any chance there will be an endgame version of this in a build planner at any point? Thanks again for the content!
Looks like my barb community challenge is a success good build
Good video mate.
Thank you so much for the guide!!! Very detailed and nicely explained.
What do you think about whirlwind in S1? Still viable?

Could we get a notes added to the d4build with item affix priorities?
How is this build with large groups of mobs? And what is the idea when facing said group?
Been following since you made the first setup could you add the stats on the gear for the link you provided definitely enjoying this setup

Is missing the full 3 stacks of Walking Arsenal ok later in the game? You're missing out on the 15% extra damage.
He’s missing out on 35% extra damage because he only uses duel wielding. I don’t understand this.. Hello, congratulations for your work, I really liked your build, I'm from Brazil, I would like to know when you intend to update the paragon frames
As I level up I'll be sure to revisit the build and update the paragon sheet.
Confused by your comments on Forgotten Souls. If I go to enchant my gloves to try and roll on crit chance/attack speed then it says I need Fiend Rose and Veiled Crystals. What am I missing?
Ah OK, so the item needs to be Sacred or Ancestral? That's pretty high into the levelling experience.
Works for endgame? Or only low lvl?
Works for end game for sure double swing was able to clear the pre nerfed version of nightmare dungeon 100s
Thanks. And now double swing will have a buff in DMG in next patch
does this work for leveling from 1 to 50?
i'd start off upheaval then when you can get accelerating aspect this feels really good
Guardian tales aniiversary btw,, u not play GT more??
the imprints cost more when the gear is either sacred or ancestral....like ur example of the ring that cost 16 to imprint...
awesome build
May swap to this or similar, HOTA just has so many long animations for my style of playing
Nice.. have u tried killing butcher with this stun build?
I did lvl 61 on T4 and he was lvl 75. Could not do much. Survived a very long time but just gave up because it was not worth it. (Same build almost as video)

Also you can get AOE vuln very easy by swapping between death blow and a core ability that aoes.

bro if you implement thorns into this your unstoppable
Literally no room for it.
