John lives about 15 miles from us, he is a down to earth genuinely nice guy. He is not a stuck up Hollywood star. Prayers for peace and healing
I have always liked him I used to watch The Dukes of Hazzard back in this day
He always seemed genuine and I like that about him.
I follow him on Facebook, and it's heartbreaking hearing what he's going through. But, he's really gifted at writing about his feelings. They must have really had an Amazing and very strong Love for each other, and obviously that will not change.🌹💜

I lost my wife of 28 years back in 2020 as well from kidney disease. It felt like-and still does - like half of what I was with her has been torn from me. It's taken the past four years almost to recover somewhat, but I still feel the loss every day.
I met John briefly at a gathering a few years back. He is very approachable and kind. Our hearts go out to him during this difficult time.

The children who distanced themselves were his step-kids. I assume his daughter is still in his life.

So sorry for your loss John. You and your late wife reminded me of my aunt and uncle. They were just like both of you. Unfortunately she too lost her battle with breast cancer and then months later he passed away. Nobody knew he ended up with brain cancer. I pray for your health and well being. Stay strong and know there are many people that care about you and are here for you.
Wow John! My new lovely wife and I were in Nashville over New Years, and we happened to be eating at a restaurant and saw you and a female friend walk in. I didn't have the guts to introduce myself. John...you and I have many parallels. I lost my first wife to ovarian cancer 2 and a half years ago. The grief was immense, but with the strength of God, I have been able to move on. You are amazing being able to go through this. I encourage you pick your head up my friend. I also pray and know that God will restore your relationship with your kids. We should never adopt a new spouses kids. He’s a perfect example why. He became responsible for children that weren’t his. That wife was a gold digger. He’s a good man and sadly men like him get targeted by women like her.

They were married for over twenty years; I don't know if I would call her a gold digger. when they separated the only child support he had to pay was for his own daughter.
Even if the children live with you part time you can still be held responsible, there are women who collect spouses just for income and child support. Better to just be friends.

I never met John in person but I can't see anybody mistreating him. He's wonderful down to earth person. You can see it in his eyes. I sympathize with his loss. I lost the man I loved because he gave up. I miss him every day and wish he had given us the chance to spend our golden years together.
I’ve always enjoyed John as an actor and an awesome human being. Having gone through my own personal hell, my heart goes out to him. I know how it feels to go through divorce and to bury a spouse. The one and only strength I find to get me through the tough times comes from my Savior, Jesus Christ. He suffered not only for my sins, but for the sins and grief and pain and sorrow and heartache for every single person who ever graced this planet! There is no difficulty, no trial, no burden and no brand of human suffering that extends deeper than His atoning sacrifice can reach. Knowing that He descended below all things and overcame, gives me hope and courage that, with His eternal love and guidance, I will survive and overcome as well. I hope this testimony gives John some measure of comfort. 💕

Oh my goodness, I hope he fares well. Losing a loved one is a nightmare. It's hard, and it hurts forever. But the pain does lessen, and the door of happiness opens again. It takes time.
This Breaks my heart. My story is very, very similar to his and I personally know his heartbreak, losing his companion, and my birth children not only turned me away when he died, but they also took everything I had, put me into a cheap nursing home, by God's Grace and mercy, I was rescued and I am redeemed now and living quite well, alone for the first time in my life.

I have a special place in my heart for John and the Kent family in Smallville!!! I was caring for my mother (who had dementia) when the series was on. I very much needed the "hugs" I got from the love demonstrated by the Kents!!! I lost my twin sister from cancer recently and I totally understand the grief. Loosing the person you are closest to is a real blow.
Poor Guy. He finally found his soulmate, then in a few years she was gone. Also that poor girl, to pass away only at 53. 😔

Oh my goodness! Wow does this hit home. I’m a Louisiana woman that also just lost my soulmate 1 1/2 ago. I had 32 great years with him that I will be forever grateful for. I too was on my 3 rd marriage. He has 2 boys that were like my sons. I had them when the youngest was a baby. Now that their dad is gone and they got greedy and now have them no more. Which like John, makes this devastation even worse. I discovered his song,” IF I WERE A YOUNGER MAN” tonight and have cried for hours. Then I found this. Dear John, my heart feels your pain. I have and will keep you in my prayers. And I have to turn to God many times a day and night. 🙏 I wish You well. 😢

John, please take this time, one day at a time! You are blessed with a daughter and friends! I know the pain of loss, my family was small but very close.....all have passed away! The man I was with 34 years passed away Dec. 23, the same date I buried my only sibling years before. My brother that I loved and adored! My brother once said, "life is for the living....so live, live, live! I have learned how short and precious life is! You are a talented man! Acting and music! I promoted Grand Ole' Opry shows back in the 70's and early 80's. Music is always on in my car or home. I owned several businesses over 45 years, always had music on and sold in my retail shops! Throw yourself into your music, it brings joy to thousands!

I was one of those starstruck girls. Bo Duke hit me like a ton of bricks. Posters pictures everywhere. Then that horrible morning show, announcing his marriage and showing pictures on top of it. I was devastated. I came home from school, did my chores, went to my room and cried. Two weeks this was what I did. I should apologize to John for jinxing his first marriage. I came out of my room wiping my tears, my mom asked me if I was done crying, I said, I don't know why I've been crying. John will be divorced by the time I'm old enough to marry him❤

My heart is with John Schneider. He is grieving the loss of his beloved wife. He never struck me as a violent man. He seems genuine. He was frustrated when he wrote that I knew immediately when I heard about it. As we all know Twitter/X is the last place to be honest or say controversial things. I forgive him. I know he is a good human. I watch his tubeu and fb occasionally. He does not mean anyone harm.

John's new album "We're Still Us" is his best work ever. I followed his music in the 80s when he had some great hits. Loved seeing him on concerts in Oklahoma. In 2023 when I learned of his wife's death I was devastated for him. It is good to see him putting his grief to work for him.
