Melania is also European. Europeans and not Americans, and they do not think or act the same way. It’s quite obvious the difference between Melania and the other First Ladies. My mother and I would often speak about how different she is for that reason. Melania is cosmopolitan. Like Trump, she has had fame, prestige and wealth, and it is not an issue. Making sure her son had stability was way more important than moving to the WH immediately. She didn’t need to follow Trump because she had faith in him and believes in him and his ability. Honestly, she is a total badass because she is confident in herself and her decisions, and the media tried to break her in so many ways, being a mother was way more important than falling in line. Hillary was known for treating Secret Service agents horribly when it was their job to protect her and her family. I use to work in DC government and I am a little surprised at these First Lady choices. I can see Melania being a royal pain to work for due to her personality and the way she treats people, but it is my understanding that Nancy Reagan was abusive to staff. Not sure about her security team, but she treated the White House staff roughly. I was told by someone who was at the White House that Betty Ford chewed out a staff member for not taking her two days off. It seem Nancy didn't want White House staff to take their days off. Betty said, "Do I look like Nancy Reagan? Take your days off!"
Frankly I liked that Melania respected the fact that she wasn’t the person elected. I’ve never understood why First Ladies are given any voice regarding political issues as none of them were elected by citizens. I’d rather they kept their noses out of politics. I use to work in DC government and I am a little surprised at these First Lady choices. I can see Melania being a royal pain to work for due to her personality and the way she treats people, but it is my understanding that Nancy Reagan was abusive to staff. Not sure about her security team, but she treated the White House staff roughly. I was told by someone who was at the White House that Betty Ford chewed out a staff member for not taking her two days off. It seem Nancy didn't want White House staff to take their days off. Betty said, "Do I look like Nancy Reagan? Take your days off!"
Frankly I liked that Melania respected the fact that she wasn’t the person elected. I’ve never understood why First Ladies are given any voice regarding political issues as none of them were elected by citizens. I’d rather they kept their noses out of politics.
Can you imagine if we ever have a first husband trying to poke his nose into politics?? The media will shred them to pieces.
The staff was used to having a super model in the whitehouse either. She wore elegant clothes. Not like Jill that wore shower curtain. I’m not even mentioning the other two. She was more private and had a young son. She was a mother first. The other 3 didn’t deal with that.

My favorite First Lady is Melania. She is smart, gorgeous and a devoted mom. She's very respectful and keeps to herself.
I love that she placed her sons routine and school as a major priority. A mothers love is a powerful thing and should never be twisted and used as a particular, or weaponised, narrative. She is all class in my book.

The press and people in the media gave Melania Trump such a hard time and were very disrespectful of her. She appears to be a strong but private person. The really distasteful slavering over Michelle Obama and Jill BIden are stark contrasts to how badly Melania Trump was treated. Politics aside, she should have been treated kindly and respectfully as First Lady.
