I did what his pinned comment tells everyone not to do, I binged all of these episodes and tried to make the final game on my own, only to be slammed in the face with the realization that I couldn't do it. Not yet at least. I, and most people need to slow down and practice before expecting perfect. I myself expected way too much of myself and let myself down. I promised myself that I wouldn't give up on learning code. What do I do now that I couldn't code the game? Go through the tutorials again and practice. My suggestion, go through each episode and after them, practice what you learned until it feels comfortable writing that code. Then as you watch more episodes incorporate your practice and take in what he is teaching you in the current episode. So, to all new learners who made it this far, congratulations. If you can't get it right the first time, go back and practice. Practice makes perfect if you're practicing the right way. I Just finished the whole beginners tutorial series and all I have to say is: Thank you I've tried to learn roblox lua scripting for many years but never had any good tutorial that could actually teach me instead of just watching a scripter scripting fast as hell not explaining a thing. I was now able to make this minigame by myself and it actually worked and its thanks to you man. Ever since I started the playlist I had been writing every single piece of code from the playlist and noting what the mean, it has really helped me understand code from other people and helped me code my on things, I am truly grateful for this entire playlist! (I have 17 full pages to look back on when I don’t understand something) ❤ Thank you BrawlDev
I watched all 17 episodes prior to this one and I thought I was somewhat prepared for this final stretch but oh boy was I wrong. Even though I comprehend to some degree most of the basic code I was for sure not prepared for the pure amount of agony the creation of this game made me feel. Honestly don't know how people manage to make the final product with such ease, but I'm clearly not one of them.

My advice is in line with John... go back to episode 1 and take your time. Then when you're ready, open up a studio template that matches a game type that interests you. Lets go I passed my begginer scripting exam :) I was able to create the mechanics But (I had to cheat on the get player from character thing i was confused why leaderstats wasnt coming for 30 mins thats why i didnt knew abt it) so i think I actually got 7/10 marks on this idk maybe But Honestly this guide is the best begginer scripting guide out there for me!! Cant wait to move on to advanced and Gui!!! Gl to everyone out there completing this series
Throughout this entire series, you went in depth with these tutorials, I searched tutorials across the platform, but they all start with stuff like "Whats an instance?" before giving off on how to travel through the studio, or simple things like printing, loops and other simple things. I thank you for this guide, and your well explanation in these 18 episodes.
this video in particular was a journey, as i went along with you i learned how to combine all the functions we learned to use, this is probably the best beginner tutorial series ever!
ive tried to learn scripting before, but many times i gave up because of how hard scripting is and the guides being a bit confusing, but this helped me alot, in only 4 days i could script simple things and make simple games, im gonna try to make a simple game with no guides to see how far ive gone, so thank you. this is the best guide ive tried to follow.
Not only were all of the previous tutorials rather easy to follow, but this video implemented everything from before. At first I didn't really get how were tables useful, even though I undestood the concept. You made it very clear with an obby. Simply amazing.
I tried to get in to scripting a year ago but gave up after having to prioritise other things. This beginner tutorial series was great and the learning objectives helped solidify the concepts in my brain. Thanks a lot for making this series! I'm excited to start the advanced series now.
@kkkkkk33k If you're looking to learn basic roblox lua concepts or just refresh your mind on them then the beginner tutorial is great imo. The advanced tutorial (I'm on episode #16 atm ) has also been really educational so far. I think that if you take some time to practice what is being taught (outside of just following the tutorial) and pay attention in the tutorials then you will finish both series with enough knowledge to start building your portfolio and doing basic commissions. tldr; If you're goal is to become proficient at scripting and roblox game development in general; both of brawldev's playlists (beginner and advanced) are a great up-to-date intro.
I think I mirror the same as everyone else, all of the 17 other videos, I followed along and really understood some things I never fully grasped. Coming to the end here, you wiz through it as someone who can clearly code competently, whereas, most of us think we could do that. But as soon as you started, my god I understood exactly what you did and why you did it, but I'd have no chance at writing that from scratch. I'm happy I understand it, but lord oh lord it will take some time to write like that. Either way, really fun tutorials. On to the more advanced stuff, I will come back through these begginer ones as I learn more and compile it all together. Thanks :)
When I tried this I got frustrated because the gate wasnt opening, i replayed this the next day and did it all over again, and the reason it didnt work was because i didnt set the the Intvalue's value, i hope if you have this problem you see this comment.
Hi! I've just finished watching the whole series after i'd say about 4 days. learning and implementing different things, I just wanna say this was very great and incredible tutorial. Very easy to learn and you make it very easy to understand. And letting those who learn be able to make different types of scripts there own way. While making this Obby, somehow I ended up not needing any pairs. but still ended up making the same thing LOL! thanks for the guidance and teachings : )
Once I started working on leaderstats I was just sitting there not knowing what to do. Either I’m like everyone else or I’m fucked. Practice makes better! If I completed the whole obby in 1 go! I’m ready for advanced scripting tutorial.
I made a separate game after following the tutorial on this one to make sure I learned everything. This is the best tutorial series anyone could ask for. Time to learn GUI and Advanced Scripting!
thank you so much BrawlDev for teaching us all of these concepts in your beginner tutorial guide. i didnt retain all of the information in the guide, so i'll probably rewatch a tutorial or two before i move on to the advanced guide. this is (by far) the easiest guide to learn from for someone like me with no experience. thanks again :D
I loved those series. Even tho i had basic knowledge in programming, each episode was really captivating. In the final game, i added a timer and level to the leaderstats :3 Thanks a lot, now im moving over to the gui series, then to the advanced scripting series.
you are the only person that made me understand scripting, all the others made me forget in 10 minutes or fall asleep. i'm the one meant to thank you, not you thanking me! thanks brawldev
thanks alot for this, ill defiently check out the GUI and Advanced tutorial and to be honest i dont really enjoy scripting in Lua as its super different to C# but your tutorial are alot easier to follow than others so thank you for that.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS SERIES!!!! As a person with moderate experience coding and programming, but had no idea how to use Luau or Roblox Studio (besides making parts), this helped so much! I was able to make this mini obby with ease before viewing the steps (I made it a little differently) only because of your excellent explanations and examples in all of your videos. Although, the debugging was a pain. A few years back, I got demotivated and never ended up starting Roblox Srudio because i could never find a good scripting series (there were a few good videos though) and after I thought about pursuing this again, I researched more and found this goldmine! I would recommend this series to anyone no matter how unskilled they might be at this sort of stuff! THANK YOU SO MUCH, AGAIN!
Honestly. This is probably the most fun and toughest I have ever done. I had to watch a little on the video to get it correctly because I don't have a such smart brain as you do. I also realised my own problem in the line where it says: local gate = gatse:FindFirstChild(button.Name) I did not realise what it ment until I went throught the entire code line by line. I realised that the Gate name had to be the same name as the TouchPart. I tried to make this game by my own and if you said it somewhere in the video I did not hear it. All of these videos has also helped me so much when scripting and will continue to help!
While I was able to create the game on my own, I struggled with optimization and the usage of everything we learned put together. I had individual scripts for every coin and button which would be horrible for a real game. Still have a long way to go in scripting but this was definitely a good start and a great series.
Thanks I watched the whole guide! I have some experience with coding in Java, and many of the terms I understood. You gave very clear explanations and it looks like you had a fun time making these videos!
Ey let's go. I've made it on my own :) worked perfectly. If you're serious, you can make this. This is my first time ever coding experience without any knowledge. I don't even know how to code html. But within just 3 days. I watched all your Beginner Playlist (and some videos) and wow, from literally 0 knowledge to creating my first simple game without copying how you actually did it! My only secret is that I make sure to watch AT LEAST 6 hours worth of TH-cam videos and AT LEAST 6 hours of applying and self-learning a day. Total of 12 hours minimum of work a day. I'm very committed on making new realms of Roblox games! Thank you so much!
IDK if this will get to big on the long term but I don't fully understand it and I think this works aswell local button = game.Workspace.Button local Gate = game.Workspace.Gate local SafetyStop = false button.Touched:Connect(function(T) if T and SafetyStop == false then SafetyStop = true Gate.Transparency = 0.75 Gate.CanCollide = false for Count = 1, 5 do print(6 - Count) wait(1) if Count == 5 then Gate.Transparency = 0 Gate.CanCollide = true SafetyStop = false end end end end)
great tutorial!!!! now i can script roblox games bro like ive been trying to learn roblox scripting for 4 years but didnt know where to start, this series was FANTASTIC
Hi, im Brazilliam and i apreciate a lot your toturials. Im not fluent in english but i can hear and understand your words and the concepts on the video. Very grateful for these tutorials! :)
So with an lui update this script will no longer run the work around for this is at the start for you local scripts put local mainGame = game.Workspace.MainGame local gates = game.Workspace.MainGame.Gates local buttons = game.Workspace.MainGame.Buttons You're welcome!
I loved working through this tutorial guide, it helped me so much although whilst i was working on the scripts in the game, i struggled to understand it, but after like 1 hour of analyzing it, i understood it. thanks for this guide, i will begin the advanced scripting guide now
tbh i undestand a lot by this video cause i was used to other methods of scripting but ur method is actually good and easy for bigger and more complicated games thanks bro at first i didn't understand anything but now i can create a diiferent game using this method of scriptng it just takes practice and trying to undrerstand the concept of every thing you type :)
for _, gates in pairs(gates:GetChildren()) do gates.Touched:Connect(function(otherPart) local humanoid = otherPart.Parent:FindFirstChild("Humanoid") if humanoid then humanoid.Health = 0 end end) end Here is the script for that, I'm sure there are a lot of other ways to do it, but this is what I came up with as a beginner. also, you need to tweak the function "activateButton" and add gates.CanTouch = false so that you do not die when you touch a gate even when you pressed a button TY!
i was easily able to make this without any hesitation(it did take a lot of trial and error). its been quite a while since i made that, and now i hve started the advanced series as well. thanks a lot for all the help bro ur the best
i watched the WHOLE series and you were explaining so good, before this series i already made a plan up im my head to hire a scripter but it looks like i won't need it, thanks to you bro❤❤
I could never ask for a better guide than this one, your the reason that i was able to make my first game by myself! I've always wanted to be a dev and i was really proud knowing that i just made my first small game, now ima watch the advanced tutorial guide! Thank you for making such incredible series!
BrawlDev idk if ur gonna see this man and it would really make my day considering how much you've helped me understand scripting. You have helped me build up my future by teaching me how to code. Because of you I can now get a job and make good money. Because of you my future will be bright with so many upsides to things. Because of you my life is better than ever so I really wanna thank you. And I know this is just Roblox but still coding is coding atleast now I know how to understand it and make one of my own. So towards you BrawlDev. You are the best and I can never thank you enough for what you've taught me . I love you
This is honestly a really good tutorial m8, only thing I wish you talked about more was the difference between using the ServerScriptService over attaching scripts to parts
damn doing my own obby and scripting it before u did made me realise how inefficient my code is but when i look at the code for yours i can really see how all the skills in the guide have built up to this point, i think if i revise your script ill understand it better and ill become a better scripter now that i see how you use it, i feel like you can only get better at scripting by looking at other peoples works and applying their knowledge onto your own work
Thank you for this tutorial bro I’ve been tryna learn for a while a lot of other ones confused me but this one is so good and easy to understand ly for this
Thank you for all your guides Brawl, you are the best teacher there is in the platform and i want you to also be proud of yourself as much as we are proud of ourselves too, you are teaching so many people on how to get better at scripting and maybe leading them into their future jobs and careers. Thank you for all you have done for us and i cant wait to move on to the other harder playlist and keep learning from you.
thank you for this wonderful series ❤ cant wait to nove on to advanced scripting and gui you are the only youtuber who actually made me understand scripting stay strong and good luck for in the future!!!
With this Beginner's Scripting Tutorial Guide, I was able to recreate the final game all on my own, with no help. The code is very bad, and it's not optimized, but it plays the exact same. Obviously, after I was done, I rewatched and remade how it's ACTUALLY supposed to go, but I'm proud of myself. Before this, I would have never been able to.
Thanks for these tutorials without this I wouldn't have learned the basics of coding in Roblox know I can go to the advanced tutorials I already looked at them and all of them look really cool I can't wait to learn more skills to learn how to make a adventure game.
A Well constructed guide where I finally understand every single line of code and how it operates, since I've started its been really helpful to put comments next to certain lines of code to help me understand something should I need a point of reference. I rarely ever make any comments on TH-cam, but this guide was so perfect that It's a must, well done.
Bro u wrote a very long script for the timer gate, I just did this and it worked local game = game.workspace:Waitforchild(“Maingame”) local button = game:Waitforchild(“Button”) local gate = game:Waitforchild(“gate”) local timer = 10 button.Touched:connect(function(otherpart) local humanoid = otherpart.Parent:Waitforchild(“Humanoid”) If humanoid then gate.CanCollide = false gate.Traparency = 0.5 while timer > 0 do print(timer) task.wait(1) timer = timer - 1 end end) U can copy paste the code and check it, it works like that script only
Alr, from yesterday to today I was able to get all the info, complete the series and do the game by my self, this is my third time trying to learn scripting and the last since you explain it so well
I never thought pairs can be used like that! So ridiculous, I make every script inside every button, gate, and coin. And the timer and the devouce is also manual lmao! I've learned a lot from this video, it's really clever hahaha! You can make more obstacle without changin the script again and again, that's very efficient👀
One question. Where did you get that font of roblox studio? Like the symbols of Scripts, Workspace, Folder, Run Button, and other stuff. It genuinely looks good in my opinion.
second time watching this series, and everything makes more sense now. Obviously, there are still more areas I need to work with, but I am starting to understand things better
I have a question, you used a script on serverscriptservice to make the whole obby system but since it is a server script if one player touches the button all changes would be visible to all players. So if I want only the player who touched the button see the changes do I need to use a local script?
Hello BrawDev, First of all I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge with us for future people wishing to become a Roblox developer. I personally thank you for teaching me how to code, thank you for giving me courage, thank you for giving us practice so that we can memorize the lessons. I followed all your videos from beginning to end and I am very proud of it. Because before looking to your channel I was lost and wanted to abondon the idea of becoming a roblox developer but you gave me the courage to continue, Thank you for all your kindness and the series and I hope you will release a new video soon. Take Care !
Hey! I don't know if this is in the advanced scripting series or not, but just in case, i'd like to ask. How would I make it so that if, say, the value of "coins" is greater than or equal to 1 (any number), a door would open? (as in, the brick becomes transparent and non-collideable.) I know how to make if then statements for pretty much anything else, but when it comes to values in the playerstats folder, nothing seems to work! Any tips for this? Or is it just a more advanced chunk of code that wasn't discussed in this series that i'm missing?
Hi I tried writing the script for the button myself, I have a question if its correct like its working in game, but whats your opinion on it? local mainGame = game.Workspace:WaitForChild("MainGame") local button = mainGame.Buttons:WaitForChild("Stage1") local gate = mainGame.Gates:WaitForChild("Stage1") local buttonActive = false button.Touched:Connect(function(otherPart)
if buttonActive then return end local humanoid = otherPart.Parent:WaitForChild("Humanoid") if humanoid then
i am definitely NOT ready to move on to advanced, i will have to rewatch the whole series and definitely learn to understand all the scripts better😂 (a great tutorial tho)

this video in particular was a journey, as i went along with you i learned how to combine all the functions we learned to use, this is probably the best beginner tutorial series ever!
I agree its the best for sure !!!
ive tried to learn scripting before, but many times i gave up because of how hard scripting is and the guides being a bit confusing, but this helped me alot, in only 4 days i could script simple things and make simple games, im gonna try to make a simple game with no guides to see how far ive gone, so thank you. this is the best guide ive tried to follow.
@@anchor7549 so how do i become a pro at scripting, i dont want to be a beginner, cuz i wanna make advanced games like arsenal
@@anchor7549 im not sure if hes advanced tutorial will actually give u all the help to create games like adopt me and arsenal
@@YousufAhmed-cg3qhfirst your going to need to learn the basics or you wont understand the advanced parts
Thanks :)
The main script part was the hardest for me because I had to look at the tutorial a lot, but I managed the rest without the tutorial.
Great Guide!👍
When I tried this I got frustrated because the gate wasnt opening, i replayed this the next day and did it all over again, and the reason it didnt work was because i didnt set the the Intvalue's value, i hope if you have this problem you see this comment.
Time to start commissions 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 thank you for the series
In the final game, i added a timer and level to the leaderstats :3
Thanks a lot, now im moving over to the gui series, then to the advanced scripting series.
you are the only person that made me understand scripting, all the others made me forget in 10 minutes or fall asleep. i'm the one meant to thank you, not you thanking me! thanks brawldev
thanks alot for this, ill defiently check out the GUI and Advanced tutorial and to be honest i dont really enjoy scripting in Lua as its super different to C# but your tutorial are alot easier to follow than others so thank you for that.
Ay bro I was able to make the game on my own, this series actually taught me a lot. W mans
what is the name of ur game ?
Thank you so much!
how is it going? Did you get burnout?
@MindOver_Matter123 nope, im still going on. Rn im making a realistic world building and horror story as sample project
Holy bro this was a fun journey im so happy I watched this tutorial ngl gg' Im still gona continue my scripting journey and continue ur tutorials
IDK if this will get to big on the long term
but I don't fully understand it and I think this works aswell
local button = game.Workspace.Button
local Gate = game.Workspace.Gate
local SafetyStop = false
button.Touched:Connect(function(T)
if T and SafetyStop == false then
SafetyStop = true
Gate.Transparency = 0.75
Gate.CanCollide = false
for Count = 1, 5 do
print(6 - Count)
wait(1)
if Count == 5 then
Gate.Transparency = 0
Gate.CanCollide = true
SafetyStop = false
end
end
end
end)
Thank you, you changed my whole life. I can now make a whole game, I wouldn't have done anything without you. Thank you so much.
You Are The Best
Thank you for a wonderful Series.
Looking forward to the next Lessons 👍
Thank you so much for this series! I learned a lot from everything and the challenge after the videos helps me a lot!
after watching your tutorial guide ive started to get good at scripting, thank you so much! im planning to do the advanced tutorial soon :)
love your vids!
great tutorial!!!! now i can script roblox games bro like ive been trying to learn roblox scripting for 4 years but didnt know where to start, this series was FANTASTIC
i love theseeee 💕
Hi, im Brazilliam and i apreciate a lot your toturials. Im not fluent in english but i can hear and understand your words and the concepts on the video. Very grateful for these tutorials! :)
So with an lui update this script will no longer run the work around for this is at the start for you local scripts put
local mainGame = game.Workspace.MainGame
local gates = game.Workspace.MainGame.Gates
local buttons = game.Workspace.MainGame.Buttons
You're welcome!
thanks
it didnt work
it says Gates is not a valid member of Model "Workspace.MainGame"
@@rookygamer Make sure to write exactly the same name you wrote in your folder.
i cant get it working i went back and watch the Houl vid again and still cant get it to work
I loved working through this tutorial guide, it helped me so much
although whilst i was working on the scripts in the game, i struggled to understand it, but after like 1 hour of analyzing it, i understood it.
thanks for this guide, i will begin the advanced scripting guide now
tbh i undestand a lot by this video cause i was used to other methods of scripting but ur method is actually good and easy for bigger and more complicated games thanks bro at first i didn't understand anything but now i can create a diiferent game using this method of scriptng it just takes practice and trying to undrerstand the concept of every thing you type :)
Just finished this tutorial, Sept 2, 2024. I added a feature wherein if you touch a gate without pressing the button, your character will be ded
for _, gates in pairs(gates:GetChildren()) do
gates.Touched:Connect(function(otherPart)
local humanoid = otherPart.Parent:FindFirstChild("Humanoid")
if humanoid then
humanoid.Health = 0
end
end)
end
Here is the script for that, I'm sure there are a lot of other ways to do it, but this is what I came up with as a beginner.
also, you need to tweak the function "activateButton" and add gates.CanTouch = false so that you do not die when you touch a gate even when you pressed a button TY!
i was easily able to make this without any hesitation(it did take a lot of trial and error). its been quite a while since i made that, and now i hve started the advanced series as well. thanks a lot for all the help bro ur the best
i watched the WHOLE series and you were explaining so good, before this series i already made a plan up im my head to hire a scripter but it looks like i won't need it, thanks to you bro❤❤
I loved this series! Now if you excuse me, I'm gonna attempt to make a little fighting game and use ur other series if I need to
damn doing my own obby and scripting it before u did made me realise how inefficient my code is but when i look at the code for yours i can really see how all the skills in the guide have built up to this point, i think if i revise your script ill understand it better and ill become a better scripter now that i see how you use it, i feel like you can only get better at scripting by looking at other peoples works and applying their knowledge onto your own work
Thank you for this tutorial bro I’ve been tryna learn for a while a lot of other ones confused me but this one is so good and easy to understand ly for this
Thank you for all your guides Brawl, you are the best teacher there is in the platform and i want you to also be proud of yourself as much as we are proud of ourselves too, you are teaching so many people on how to get better at scripting and maybe leading them into their future jobs and careers. Thank you for all you have done for us and i cant wait to move on to the other harder playlist and keep learning from you.
All videos are so good, you are really a great tutor. Thanks a lot.
yo just finished the playlist and wanted to say thank you for making this Easy to understand.
I watched all the series in one day no rest man you are amazing thanks for you to let this tot for free man, god bless you
Thank you very much for the Beginner Tutorial BrawlDev i appreciate it👍
thank you for this wonderful series ❤
cant wait to nove on to advanced scripting and gui
you are the only youtuber who actually made me understand scripting
stay strong and good luck for in the future!!!
The title sounds like a threat lol 💀
Thanks for these tutorials without this I wouldn't have learned the basics of coding in Roblox know I can go to the advanced tutorials I already looked at them and all of them look really cool I can't wait to learn more skills to learn how to make a adventure game.
A Well constructed guide where I finally understand every single line of code and how it operates, since I've started its been really helpful to put comments next to certain lines of code to help me understand something should I need a point of reference. I rarely ever make any comments on TH-cam, but this guide was so perfect that It's a must, well done.
Bro Tysm I was about to give up but saw your videos and everything helped me keep it up 😊
Good and easy tutorial.
The only downside not alot of indepth explanations.
But overall one of the best tutorials for roblox studio on youtube
Frl I agree is something confusing you?
@@gavin6786 nah I all ready making my game
Dude, huge respect, thank you so much for these tutorials, they are very, VERY useful, tysm for your dedication and consistency, thank you
thank you very much for the tutorials 💪👍
Bro u wrote a very long script for the timer gate, I just did this and it worked
local game = game.workspace:Waitforchild(“Maingame”)
local button = game:Waitforchild(“Button”)
local gate = game:Waitforchild(“gate”)
local timer = 10
button.Touched:connect(function(otherpart)
local humanoid = otherpart.Parent:Waitforchild(“Humanoid”)
If humanoid then
gate.CanCollide = false
gate.Traparency = 0.5
while timer > 0 do
print(timer)
task.wait(1)
timer = timer - 1
end
end)
U can copy paste the code and check it, it works like that script only
you know that you dont have to do all of this?
W dev and W youtuber
+ can you make advanced playlist we need it so bad
he already did
one of the best playlists for learning/ getting into scripting lua in roblox
so goated man
Alr, from yesterday to today I was able to get all the info, complete the series and do the game by my self, this is my third time trying to learn scripting and the last since you explain it so well
Thanks for making this!
Great tutorial Learned a lot
love you 💝
When i first watched this i was really confused but when i watched it a couple of times its REALLY easy to understand thanks mister BrawlDev
congratz on 8k subs man! 5k subs in 4 months... crazy
It's only gonna grow faster here on out! :)
@@BrawlDevRBLX for sure! Been here since 40 subs 🤝
I never thought pairs can be used like that! So ridiculous, I make every script inside every button, gate, and coin. And the timer and the devouce is also manual lmao! I've learned a lot from this video, it's really clever hahaha! You can make more obstacle without changin the script again and again, that's very efficient👀
Im 12 and i learnd so much from u
One question. Where did you get that font of roblox studio? Like the symbols of Scripts, Workspace, Folder, Run Button, and other stuff. It genuinely looks good in my opinion.
I did the obby with everything working like this but its code is very different
second time watching this series, and everything makes more sense now. Obviously, there are still more areas I need to work with, but I am starting to understand things better
how is your journey so far?
@@mysteriousban1956 still finishing up rewatching his series but it’s crazy how much clearer it is now
i have a question, is there any type safety or some cool auto complete when enjoying roblox script development
#1 Roblox Studio TH-camr
I have a question, you used a script on serverscriptservice to make the whole obby system but since it is a server script if one player touches the button all changes would be visible to all players. So if I want only the player who touched the button see the changes do I need to use a local script?
Pretty sure you need a local script in that case
Hello BrawDev,
First of all I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge with us for future people wishing to become a Roblox developer.
I personally thank you for teaching me how to code, thank you for giving me courage, thank you for giving us practice so that we can memorize the lessons.
I followed all your videos from beginning to end and I am very proud of it.
Because before looking to your channel I was lost and wanted to abondon the idea of becoming a roblox developer but you gave me the courage to continue,
Thank you for all your kindness and the series and I hope you will release a new video soon.
Take Care !
I want to say thank you, I crated my first game!!! you are the best
Hey! I don't know if this is in the advanced scripting series or not, but just in case, i'd like to ask.
How would I make it so that if, say, the value of "coins" is greater than or equal to 1 (any number), a door would open? (as in, the brick becomes transparent and non-collideable.)
I know how to make if then statements for pretty much anything else, but when it comes to values in the playerstats folder, nothing seems to work!
Any tips for this? Or is it just a more advanced chunk of code that wasn't discussed in this series that i'm missing?
what should i do if i understand what everything does but dont know where to place it?
Hi I tried writing the script for the button myself, I have a question if its correct like its working in game, but whats your opinion on it?
local mainGame = game.Workspace:WaitForChild("MainGame")
local button = mainGame.Buttons:WaitForChild("Stage1")
local gate = mainGame.Gates:WaitForChild("Stage1")
local buttonActive = false
button.Touched:Connect(function(otherPart)
if buttonActive then
return
end
local humanoid = otherPart.Parent:WaitForChild("Humanoid")
if humanoid then
buttonActive = true
button.BrickColor = BrickColor.new("Lime green")
gate.Transparency = 0.75
gate.CanCollide = false
print("Touched!")
task.wait(10)
button.BrickColor = BrickColor.new("Really red")
gate.Transparency = 0
gate.CanCollide = true
buttonActive = false
end
end)
THANKS MANN!!!!!! IWATCHED THIS AND NOW I KNOW BASICALLY HOW TO CODE FOR BASICS ;DDDDDDDDDDD
Good series
i am definitely NOT ready to move on to advanced, i will have to rewatch the whole series and definitely learn to understand all the scripts better😂 (a great tutorial tho)
I did it differently but its functional and no errors from what i saw (i did not follow the tutorial)
I finished the whole series in one day...👌👌👌👌
