- Kamphaeng Phet isn't a big destination for Western tourists, but this city is steeped in Thailand history. Come along as I explore the KP National Museum and the impressive number of local ruins. But be careful: if you stray off the beaten path too far, you might end up like me: nearly attacked by a pack of wild dogs!

Been there Dec 2019 (without dogs) . Both outside and City sites. Never been to archeological sites that empty without people on my photos. Love it, will come back after covid. Have to visit the off site Sukothai sites too, and have to go to Si Satchanalai.

ႈ I have been worked almost a year in Lankabu, Sirikit Oil Field which is one of province in Kamphaeng Phat, but I didnt have a chance to visit this place you have been.. what a missed..

Kamphaeng Phet is the real Thailand. It's a middle class city halfway between BKK and C/Mai. Would you like to stay there as a tourist for a few weeks, maybe not. But if you want to see how the majority of Thais live day to day it's great. None of that double pricing that you get in Tourist places. Just one small problem you will have to speak at least some Thai to get by. Saying that the point and nod with a smile always works, more fun anyway.
It’s a beautiful place and I learned that my last name is kinda spelt like the place and my last name is Khamphengphet

No, an old man told me they used to have wagons going round catching the dogs. He didn't have any idea where they were going - he presumed doggy Auschwitz. One day they collected all these dogs up.....and a little puppy chased after the wagon....barking yip yip yip...

Attacking dogs are scary that is why Umbrella and Selfie sticks are my weapon
