Boo Blasters used to be themed to Scooby-Doo. Park was once full of Hanna Barbera characters. I can still remember walking through Yogi's cave as a kid.
As a person who grew up with The Grizzly (literally, I’m 47), I was so glad to see you all as first timers give it so much love. It will forever be my favorite coaster, so it warms my heart to know that not only is it still there but also that it is still all wood and hasn’t been refurbished into a hybrid.
Glad you liked VA! Busch Gardens is definitely my preferred park over Kings Dominion. We grew up going to both, but BG has always been the superior park in my eyes. It reminds me of Epcot in a lot of ways. It has always been cleaner, has better themed attractions and is maintained better as well I think. However I do mis Dark Castle. Wish they would bring that back.
@@SuperEnthused awesome! I grew up in Ohio. My 2 home parks plus Carowinds in Charlotte. Once you hit CP you won’t look back! Especially if you love coasters! That Fast Lane plus there is worth the investment there. (Plus covers all the rides…regular excludes some of the bigger name attractions)

I would do Cedar Point at Halloween (my fave time to make the trip over there) and consider Kennywood in Pittsburgh PA too if you get a chance. Its rated among the top for Halloween events. The park is smaller, but it has some classic wooden coasters (not wood-look, but actual wood), I think the only surviving Noah's Ark funhouse, and the newest coaster at Kennywood, Steel Curtain, is AMAZING (came off not knowing which way is up, but it was simultaneously such a smooth ride). If you do happen to swing up our way for the spooky season I recommend checking out Scarehouse too.
It has been so awesome seeing you go to Busch Gardens and then Kings Dominion. I live in Maryland and have been to both parks so many times. When Racer75 was Rebel Yell, 1 track went backwards. It was so fun! Your videos bring back so many great memories.
Disney is cool but it’s fun to see some different places outside of Florida. Kings Island is my home park and they have some really amazing coasters too if you’re doing Cedar Fair parks. You guys are always so fun to watch!

Great video. The funny thing is that Intimidator 305 is my favorite coaster in the park. Nice showing the ACE plaque. ACE, American Coaster Enthusiasts, is a great coaster club.
Yes we love our ACE friends! Been running into them at the openings of every coaster lately - Ice Breaker, Iron Gwazi, Pantheon. They’re always so nice and excited to be there. I even gave them a shout out in my Iron Gwazi vid!

It was nice saying hi to you at BGW Friday (if you don’t know, I was the one that said hi in Festa Italia towards park close). As a Virginian who LOVES your channel, I must say it’s very Nice to see you and Sam exploring the VA parks and the VA area. Even though I like BGW more than KD, I will say I still really love BOTH parks, especially with how different they are. 1 park is about the coasters and more of an amusement park (KD) and 1 is about the landscaping and more of a theme park (BGW) and it’s pretty cool. Twisted Timbers is my favorite coaster at KD for sure, And haha yes, sure I may love Intimidator but it makes me feel exhausted after like 2-3 rides on it lol. Very intense haha and I can see why you wouldn’t be a fan of it. Grizzly, yes the roughness to me kind of makes the ride fun lol and nice to hear someone else thinks the same. But yeah KD is a pretty nice amusement park and has nice charm to it. Nice to hear you had a great time! And I loved this video as always ☺️
If King's Dominion is anything like King's Island you sure had fun! LOVE the Cars, they have them at King's Island and I visited way back in 1975! Some more of these rides are at King's Island! So enjoy them. Finally, the weather there was one of the things that keep me in Florida! The winds sucks there.
I'm one of those crazy people that loves super intense coasters. I always tense up and white knuckle it, make it a challenge. I know not everyone will enjoy them though. Great video as always, Cedar Fair parks a great value

1 of my fave parks growing up...We took youth trips down there with my church several years in a row when I was a kid/teen. I hadn't been in yearssssssssss and took my son a few years ago for his 1st time. I still love it. Twisted Timbers is one of my favorite coasters anywhere. I loved the Rebel Yell coaster (now Racer 75). I loved when you could choose forward or backward. My friends and I would ride one way, get off and run back into line to ride the other direction. I love wooden coasters. Back in the day The Hurler was my fave wooden coaster there (Wayne's World themed). That one was so fast...and seemed to go faster towards the end of the night. The Grizzly was a lot of fun too. I have some amazing memories of King's Dominion. I'm glad you went. I immediately smiled when I swe the thumbnail and title. Thank you for sharing.

My Wife and I live in Toano area right outside Williamsburg and after going to Busch Gardens all these years, we just got Season passes for Kings Dominion this past December, We loved their winter fest so much more then the Busch Gardens one! Really looking forward to a awesome year at Kings Dominion!
Kings Dominion is a lot of fun. You should totally check it out at night. The International Street looks incredible at night. Also, Grizzly and Twisted Timbers are incredible at night. It's a shame that Volcano still isn't there. I'm curious to see how you like Cedar Point and Kings Island. Thanks for sharing your awesome adventures.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen Kings dominion… a few of us had season passes when I was in the Navy and we went a couple times a month.. thanks for the Vlog. Also, pretty sure twisted Timbers was the Wayne’s World ride

Grizzly was my first roller coaster ride ever, way back in, well. . . let's just say Grizzly was just a toddler. hehe Yes, it really does shake and move you, that's for sure! Happy Birthday, Grizzly!
Intimidator gave me a headache, so I don’t ride it anymore. The Flight of Fear used to be “Outer Limits Flight of Fear” and was based on a movie. It used to have a lot more theming. I remember when it opened, and I waited in a really long line for it! 😂 When the park was owned by Paramount there was a lot kore theming. Another bit if history… before Paramount, the kids area was Hanna Barbara themed and you could meet the Flinstones, Scooby Doo, etc. I have pics of my kids with them. I still call the rollercoaster there “the Scooby Doo”, even though Cedar Fair changed it. When Paramount bought the park, the kids area became Nickelodeon Themed, and I have photos of my kids with Rugrats,Spongebob, and Blue. There was an adorable iBlues Clues house with an interactive queue leading in to meet Blue. :)
There was more theming when Paramount owned the park, but Cedar Fair has made the park much nicer and cleaner with more foliage. They also don’t have a bad habit of buying prototypes which inevitably have to be removed. RIP Volcano and Hypersonic XLC. They’re lucky Flight of Fear worked out being the first LIM launch.
I went to King’s Dominion in 1988 with my High School Band! The only ride I remember being on (I was never a Coaster fan 😂) was the Old Cars! That was Thirty plus years ago! 😱 😂
Love this! My old home park. It was always a ghost town on Wednesdays, even in the summer. I went every Wednesday, because Wednesdays were my Saturdays. Season Passes were really affordable. I love the Grizzly and the Rebel Yell.
Dang, barrel roll going down the hill on Twisted Timbers, looks so cool. Thanks to Sam riding the spinning one, that's a no for me as well. I loved Intimidator at Carowinds. Please go to Cedar Point, Maverick is the best. I hope to go there this summer. I enjoy your adventures.

I am so glad y’all made it to Kings Dominion! So glad you hung out in my area! Definitely come for Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion and Howloscream at Busch Gardens Williamsburg! Get the Quick Queue and Fast Lane for the Halloween Haunted Houses. It’s worth the cost for sure!
My home park!! I haven’t been back in quite some time so I haven’t had a chance to ride Twisted Timbers, but it looks awesome. I used to go to Kings Dominion all the time in college, as it wasn’t too far a drive from campus. I was actually a scare actor for one night at their Halloween Haunt! Racer 75 (though I knew it as Rebel Yell) and the Volcano (now gone) were some of my absolute favorites! And the Intimidator is an INTENSE ride but amazing at night. I actually usually black out around the curve after the drop and have to force my eyes back open…Thanks for sharing these adventures - all your vlogs from Virginia are bringing back some fond memories for me :) and I love seeing what everything is like now!

This is the amusement park my family & I have gone to for years. My favorite coaster is the Dominator. Boo Blasters used to be themed to Scooby Doo! Racer 75 used to be called the Rebel Yell, & one of the coasters would run backwards. It was a blast! Glad you had a good time!

I was actually there that day for my third visit. It was really cool to be there for Grizzly's 40th birthday, especially because I really like it. It would have been cool to see you guys. I'm like 0 for 4 when it comes to meeting TH-camrs who were there the same day as me at Kings Dominion lol.
It is perfectly fine to not like a ride. Other than Soaring- I don’t like most of the big rides at Disney. Great vlog and really enjoyed the info on coasters!
Thank you for showing Kings Dominion!! We haven’t been there for a few years. I used to LOVE Racer 75 (I think it used to be called Rebel Yell). I remember back in high school (1996), they would run one of the trains facing backwards and one facing the regular way, and of course “racer” them. I LOVED the backwards one better!!
Wow, I haven't been to Kings Dominion in forever! The only coasters that I recall being there the last time I went are Grizzly and Racer 75 (which used to be called "The Rebel Yell". We have a ride like Tumbili over in San Antonio at Six Flags Fiesta Texas themed after Batman. I'm with you Sam, not for me! Thanks for sharing, looked like a fun time.

We have watched your video twice! My daughter, Scarlett, got herself a little camera to do TH-cam videos like you. She’s kind of disappointed that you can’t record on the rides. She even bought the wrist strap like you had at the one park. We love watching your videos! You and Sam are awesome together! Kings Dominion is a great park but I knew when you were going back to ride the alien ride that you wouldn’t like it. That is the bomb in the fall when is it’s Halloween! One scary haunted house! I wish I could share my pics of how great that park is at Halloween! I’m glad he took one for the team and rode Tumbili because now I know I won’t when we go this month! Ha ha! It makes me sad that you didn’t get to go up the Eiffel tower because the view from up there is breathtaking. My parents took me there in 76 when it opened! Can’t wait to see where else your road trip takes you! Thank you! Ps Boo Blasters was A Scooby Doo dark ride originally! And you were definitely want the fast lane pass if you go to Cedar Point! We made that mistake last summer. The rides get to be an hour and a half long waits by afternoon.

I rode the Grizzly when it was brand new! They used to have a train that went around the park and a skyliner that took you from one end to the other. They used to have a Yogi Bears cave as well.
The mushrooms and frogs used to sing, the skyliner station entrance was right there. As you stood there watching them sing the skyliners would come out the station over your head.
This was another, really different kind of theme park. Once again, the setting is phenomenal! All back in the woods, the rides and attractions surrounded by trees, making you feel like your in a forest. Such a cool experience! So cool, Jackie, to see you and Sam visiting new-to-you parks and so much fun seeing your first time reactions. You both look like you’re really enjoying this trip. Thanks for taking us along! ☺️
Good to know they haven't improved the Zacspin-like design coasters like Tumbili - definitely don't need to do those again! After doing those a couple of times, it's pretty much just whiplash and banging your head against the seat back.
It has the vibe of Alton Towers there. They even have the crazy and wooden rides and coasters. BTW: I rode that spinning - hamster wheel coaster in Great America. My son is just now speaking to me again
I haven't been to King's Dominion since I was a little kid so it was awesome to see it today! What I most remember from back then are the Hanna-Barbera characters (I use to love Hong Kong Phooey!) As a kid I loved going into Yogi's Cave and riding Scooby Doo's Rollercoaster. It was the first rollercoaster that I ever rode! Thanks for taking us along on your journey!

I was so sad last summer when it was closed. I even remember, and loved, the Haunted River ride that was in that mountain before Volcano!

One of my favorite sounds is a roller coaster making its way up a climb and then the release of the drop. I love that.

If King's Dominion is anything like King's Island you sure had fun! LOVE the Cars, they have them at King's Island and I visited way back in 1975! Some more of these rides are at King's Island! So enjoy them. Finally, the weather there was one of the things that keep me in Florida! The winds sucks there.

I'm one of those crazy people that loves super intense coasters. I always tense up and white knuckle it, make it a challenge. I know not everyone will enjoy them though. Great video as always, Cedar Fair parks a great value

1 of my fave parks growing up...We took youth trips down there with my church several years in a row when I was a kid/teen. I hadn't been in yearssssssssss and took my son a few years ago for his 1st time. I still love it. Twisted Timbers is one of my favorite coasters anywhere. I loved the Rebel Yell coaster (now Racer 75). I loved when you could choose forward or backward. My friends and I would ride one way, get off and run back into line to ride the other direction. I love wooden coasters. Back in the day The Hurler was my fave wooden coaster there (Wayne's World themed). That one was so fast...and seemed to go faster towards the end of the night. The Grizzly was a lot of fun too. I have some amazing memories of King's Dominion. I'm glad you went. I immediately smiled when I swe the thumbnail and title. Thank you for sharing.

My Wife and I live in Toano area right outside Williamsburg and after going to Busch Gardens all these years, we just got Season passes for Kings Dominion this past December, We loved their winter fest so much more then the Busch Gardens one! Really looking forward to a awesome year at Kings Dominion!
Kings Dominion is a lot of fun. You should totally check it out at night. The International Street looks incredible at night. Also, Grizzly and Twisted Timbers are incredible at night. It's a shame that Volcano still isn't there. I'm curious to see how you like Cedar Point and Kings Island. Thanks for sharing your awesome adventures.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen Kings dominion… a few of us had season passes when I was in the Navy and we went a couple times a month.. thanks for the Vlog. Also, pretty sure twisted Timbers was the Wayne’s World ride

We live 10 minutes away from KD. Although we go to Florida every year, Disney is making us love our local theme park more and more.

Love your road trip videos! I Went to kings Dominion as a kid.
Intimidator gave me a headache, so I don’t ride it anymore. The Flight of Fear used to be “Outer Limits Flight of Fear” and was based on a movie. It used to have a lot more theming. I remember when it opened, and I waited in a really long line for it! 😂 When the park was owned by Paramount there was a lot kore theming.
Another bit if history… before Paramount, the kids area was Hanna Barbara themed and you could meet the Flinstones, Scooby Doo, etc. I have pics of my kids with them. I still call the rollercoaster there “the Scooby Doo”, even though Cedar Fair changed it. When Paramount bought the park, the kids area became Nickelodeon Themed, and I have photos of my kids with Rugrats,Spongebob, and Blue. There was an adorable iBlues Clues house with an interactive queue leading in to meet Blue. :)

There was more theming when Paramount owned the park, but Cedar Fair has made the park much nicer and cleaner with more foliage. They also don’t have a bad habit of buying prototypes which inevitably have to be removed. RIP Volcano and Hypersonic XLC. They’re lucky Flight of Fear worked out being the first LIM launch.
I went to King’s Dominion in 1988 with my High School Band! The only ride I remember being on (I was never a Coaster fan 😂) was the Old Cars! That was Thirty plus years ago! 😱 😂
Love this! My old home park. It was always a ghost town on Wednesdays, even in the summer. I went every Wednesday, because Wednesdays were my Saturdays. Season Passes were really affordable. I love the Grizzly and the Rebel Yell.
Dang, barrel roll going down the hill on Twisted Timbers, looks so cool. Thanks to Sam riding the spinning one, that's a no for me as well. I loved Intimidator at Carowinds. Please go to Cedar Point, Maverick is the best. I hope to go there this summer. I enjoy your adventures.

Definitely come for Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion and Howloscream at Busch Gardens Williamsburg! Get the Quick Queue and Fast Lane for the Halloween Haunted Houses. It’s worth the cost for sure!
When I was in school at Georgetown we would make that trip from DC numerous times. Riding the Grizzly sure beat going to gross anatomy class.

My home park!! I haven’t been back in quite some time so I haven’t had a chance to ride Twisted Timbers, but it looks awesome. I used to go to Kings Dominion all the time in college, as it wasn’t too far a drive from campus. I was actually a scare actor for one night at their Halloween Haunt! Racer 75 (though I knew it as Rebel Yell) and the Volcano (now gone) were some of my absolute favorites! And the Intimidator is an INTENSE ride but amazing at night. I actually usually black out around the curve after the drop and have to force my eyes back open…Thanks for sharing these adventures - all your vlogs from Virginia are bringing back some fond memories for me :) and I love seeing what everything is like now!

This is the amusement park my family & I have gone to for years. My favorite coaster is the Dominator. Boo Blasters used to be themed to Scooby Doo! Racer 75 used to be called the Rebel Yell, & one of the coasters would run backwards. It was a blast! Glad you had a good time!

I was actually there that day for my third visit. It was really cool to be there for Grizzly's 40th birthday, especially because I really like it. It would have been cool to see you guys. I'm like 0 for 4 when it comes to meeting TH-camrs who were there the same day as me at Kings Dominion lol.
It is perfectly fine to not like a ride. Other than Soaring- I don’t like most of the big rides at Disney. Great vlog and really enjoyed the info on coasters!

I remember back in high school (1996), they would run one of the trains facing backwards and one facing the regular way, and of course “racer” them. I LOVED the backwards one better!!
Wow, I haven't been to Kings Dominion in forever! The only coasters that I recall being there the last time I went are Grizzly and Racer 75 (which used to be called "The Rebel Yell". We have a ride like Tumbili over in San Antonio at Six Flags Fiesta Texas themed after Batman. I'm with you Sam, not for me! Thanks for sharing, looked like a fun time.

We have watched your video twice! My daughter, Scarlett, got herself a little camera to do TH-cam videos like you. She’s kind of disappointed that you can’t record on the rides. She even bought the wrist strap like you had at the one park. We love watching your videos! You and Sam are awesome together! Kings Dominion is a great park but I knew when you were going back to ride the alien ride that you wouldn’t like it. That is the bomb in the fall when is it’s Halloween! One scary haunted house! I wish I could share my pics of how great that park is at Halloween! I’m glad he took one for the team and rode Tumbili because now I know I won’t when we go this month! Ha ha! It makes me sad that you didn’t get to go up the Eiffel tower because the view from up there is breathtaking. My parents took me there in 76 when it opened! Can’t wait to see where else your road trip takes you! Thank you!
Ps Boo Blasters was A Scooby Doo dark ride originally! And you were definitely want the fast lane pass if you go to Cedar Point! We made that mistake last summer. The rides get to be an hour and a half long waits by afternoon.

I rode the Grizzly when it was brand new! They used to have a train that went around the park and a skyliner that took you from one end to the other. They used to have a Yogi Bears cave as well.
Also the Racer was originally "The Rebel Yell".
The mushrooms and frogs used to sing, the skyliner station entrance was right there. As you stood there watching them sing the skyliners would come out the station over your head.
It's not usually this chilly this time of year here. Nice break from Florida heat :)

This was another, really different kind of theme park. Once again, the setting is phenomenal! All back in the woods, the rides and attractions surrounded by trees, making you feel like your in a forest. Such a cool experience! So cool, Jackie, to see you and Sam visiting new-to-you parks and so much fun seeing your first time reactions. You both look like you’re really enjoying this trip. Thanks for taking us along! ☺️
Good to know they haven't improved the Zacspin-like design coasters like Tumbili - definitely don't need to do those again! After doing those a couple of times, it's pretty much just whiplash and banging your head against the seat back.

It has the vibe of Alton Towers there. They even have the crazy and wooden rides and coasters.

I haven't been to King's Dominion since I was a little kid so it was awesome to see it today! What I most remember from back then are the Hanna-Barbera characters (I use to love Hong Kong Phooey!) As a kid I loved going into Yogi's Cave and riding Scooby Doo's Rollercoaster. It was the first rollercoaster that I ever rode! Thanks for taking us along on your journey!
