You must be undoubtedly the cleanest hiker ever with the amount of time you spend in the water..lol. Very enticing when we see how crystal clear it is and the amazing spots you can have a dip. Fantastic journey and scenery. I would like to see your trails shown on a map each day so we can understand the paths you follow and how they intertwine. Thanks for documenting your adventures for us to follow. Bushyboy Oz.
Thanks man. I went for a lot more dips than I caught on camera haha. Every opportunity I was in the water. In hindsight I should have added topo maps for each of the sections/videos. My apologies I hope it is still enjoyable to follow along. Cheers
@@ianfowler6402 you can also download the Te Araroa trail app which shows the whole entire route and all the huts and stuff along the way. It's what I used on the trail. Cheers
@@BackcountryKiwi it's still awesome following your journey, and I love how real and honest you are. I'm aiming to tackle TA this summer when I turn 65. 😁 Fellow Kiwi here. 👍🏾
Surprising how little bush walking there has been on the whole trail. Those shoes are looking pretty worn out, hope they got you through the rest of the trip. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks for sharing your journeys! Awesome inspiration and ideas for those of us trying to get fit and get amongst it. I really enjoy hearing your thought process around resting when needed and not being too hard on yourself. It’s supposed to be fun and enjoyable right? Also loving your wee insights into plants and native animals! Keep up the good work
You do so well to remember all the stats of what’s coming up, heights, names and such, do you have a big study up before starting each day? Are you always ahead of Jesse to keep him out of your shots?
Thanks Dave. Usually each night I would read over the trail notes and topo maps for the next day so that I knew what was coming up. It was also handy to bounce information off of the others that I was hiking with. At one point I did decide to stop reading the notes and surprise myself for the next day haha. No, it varied alot, sometimes Jesse would set off a bit earlier so he was way ahead or I would go off on my own for a bit, it chopped and changed throughout each day. I wasn't intentionally keeping him out of my shots. Cheers
The Topos looking a bit beat up now Zeb. Did they make it to Bluff..?😀Thanks for such a great series mate. Enjoyed them all and maybe next summer u will do the North Island section? A map showing each EP journey would have been nice but too much work I guess.
Cheers Warwick. Topo's made it to bluff... just. So glad you've enjoy it man, I really appreciate it. Probably not next summer but I will do the North Island one day. It's not high on my list though. I could have done a map for each ep and I really should have, a bugger it's too late now, sorry about that haha. Thanks for the comment man.
With every new post BK, the scenery gets more and more spectacular! As if that were possible. But somehow it does. Thanks for sharing this epic journey. Cheers.
Beautiful adventures again Zeb... those lakes and rivers are stunning! Great fact about Shania Twain!😲👍 thanks for sharing our piece of heaven cheers buddy🙏👌👌

Hot and lumpy is how I would describe the Motatapu. 😁
Fun fact; the land used to be owned by Shania Twain.
Hope you guys enjoy this one.
Cheers.
Good job mate!!!

Yes a map would have been useful although I have my Lands and Surveys maps I refer to as the hikers make their way south.

Yeah the Southern canterbury/Otago region is pretty barren. Once upon a time there were more trees and bush but alot of it was cleared for farmland

Another really enjoyable video. The NZ tourist board should be paying you commission, it looks amazing. Enjoy.
Haha thanks heaps Steve. I dunno about that, but thanks for the compliment 🙂

Awesome. Looking at the topo the section between wanaka and arrowtown have some steep climbs in succession.
Oh yeah, the Motatapu isn't an easy one haha, very little flat walking, alot of up and down.
Cheers for watching mate. Thanks

Gorgeous thumbnail as well as video. Lovely shots.👌👌👌
Thanks very much! 😊
Real nice to see this section, missed out on this back in 2020 as it was closed due massive flooding. Did a big walk around through the station.
Thanks Willem. That's a bugger about the flooding, did you go along the road/track that runs through the bottom of the station?
Cheers
@@BackcountryKiwi yes through Mt Nicholas station and the Von valley. I think it is also used by bicycles doing the around the mountain tour.
Just awesome again bro. Loved it
Thanks mate!
