    I understand that long u has 2 sounds : the oo sound as in food , noon , suit ,new and the u sound argue ,cute ,use ,you .Am i right ???

      Yes, kind of. Phonics calls the long U the one with the Y sound, like cute and huge. The call noon and food the long oo sound.
