Nice to see a US backpacker enjoying our lttle hills! I watch all the big time thru hikers and backpackers on u tube and whilst Darwin and Bigfoot have recently hiked in Scotland many US hikers seem to avoid UK in favour of places like Iceland and Ireland. Good for you mate! You must visit Snowdonia if you get a chance. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed your day. A lot of my ancestors are from this valley. One house is near to the Derwent dam wall but under water and two others were too close to the reservoirs and pulled down. Derwent Valley means Valley thick with oak. Not anymore.
I seemed to get lucky with nearly all of the adventures I took out there. My nightly walks were not so dry and beautiful, but that's okay, I'll take the good weather with the great trips!
So I put out the video calling for anyone in the UK who wanted to hike when I had open days, and I got a couple responses, one of which was this group! Thanks!
Man you're going to make take a trip to the UK which has never really been on my list...lol.. when you're in the hills/mountains us that above treeline or is it peat bogs

Are those the maps that show the right of ways, and where you can travel on private lands?
Spiguyver Backpacking Absolutely they are. I wish I could find something similar in the states.
