- That electric car fires due to the lithium battery cannot be extinguished with water should be known by now. Even a regular fire blanket alone will not fight the fire in the battery.
The Fire Isolator concept therefore consists of 3 proven elements that only used together can get a burning electric car (with lithium battery in thermal runaway) to the point where it can be removed safely and without risk of much collateral damage and/or submerged in an immersion container.
- the Fire Isolator fire blanket
- the Fire Isolator aerosol units (consisting of potassium nitrate)
- a water mist lance to precipitate the smoke/fumes coming from the car and to make the blanket even more gas-tight so that the aerosol units work even better

I think it works with not just cars. It could be very usefull for other fires too.
Going to need a huge blanket for electric trucks, fire trucks, busses, any large electric vehicles such as that.
We are actually in the process of making blankets big enough to fit over busses. It takes a whole other way of deployment however, as you can imagine. That cannot be done by 2 people but we are looking at constructions for that now.

We have successfully tested it on 2 EV cars, a Tesla test in the US is planned for the coming month, so keep an eye out for the video of that test.
