This is a really cool video. I've seen lots of A-10 airshow videos, but nothing with this nice a mix of onboard (front-facing, back-facing) and ground point-of-view footage. Well done!

I met a young man today that gave me the link to this video.. He said " you have got to watch this video" .I was like okay I`ll watch it. Then he started telling me about this pilot . Some guy that went by the name of "Habu" that he had spoken to on more than one occasion . He was so enthusiastic that I couldnt ignore him. While it pains me to say this, after watching this pilot I felt a sense of pride that I had somehow not felt in years. American pride! Mr Thorpe if you read this post I`m sure you will recognize the young mans call sign "ChillyWillie" . To Mr. Dylan "Habu" Thorpe . Thank You sir for your service to this great nation! Highest respect for you and all others that have and still do risk their very lives for this nation.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video and I'm glad I could give you a sense of pride for our awesome nation that gentlemen like Habu have sacrificed to defend.
Just came across this comment and in Parkville when I see them flying the A-10's are a sense of comfort and clue in to keep the inspiration. Also ran across them in Western Maryland doing reconnoitering and pop ups... With me remaining low and slow for nature photography, got the feeling a couple pilots were picking on me. I did have a great experience with an Apache, as I got their attention and they put their gun on the print shop I wanted targeted. That lasted long enough for one to tell the other, "That was stupid." I got great stories from every military service, except the marines and when you make eye contact, they are the hard core people. The one time they gave me permission do deal with the rest of their engineering laggards, I got to chew their A starting with, "I am walking faster then you are running!" The next day the officers ran past me laughing, but I caught that Sargent's eye... Dealt with a marine across the street and I was trying to get a rapist off the streets, and started a dossier on the guy, but forgot to take the sat and map data from it. The police asked me if I planned on doing anything and I just talked friends. I know the house that was listed had interest and he asked me, "Don't you think a place like this could be under surveillance by us?" "Not a problem, my new friends are Marine recon!" Message received and he was at least put in jail for a spell. I wanted to be Navy and go into the Naval School of Photography, but the recruiter was only interested in telling me to be a man speech. My father was Navy IGY 58 and asked me what the guy said. Dad was disappointed in the Navy and not me and told me, "Mike, he had his quota and decided to dick around." I never hesitate to tell military either serving or have served military service, "Thanks for serving," but what chokes me up is when I tell that least story is they thank me for having to have guts at least to try, "We all have our dumb A's stories." I let them know that the dumb A's never let me down and I try to serve the nation as best I can. With my life, I love the role the A-10's not only play, but still stick around. I would love a ride in that buggy!
This is a great video of the A-10 Thunderbolt. I fell in love with this military aircraft as a kid watching it at the Airshow in Muskegon Michigan. Also had one fly low over my families farm a few years later and the pilot gave me the air wave as he made a second pass. I watched this impressive aircraft while it was performing live fire exercises overhead while we were training in South Korea. This thing really won my heart when it saved me and my fellow Marines lives in Afghanistan.
What a monster!!! I could not even imagine flying such a beast and having such a appreciation from the ground forces when I'm around in the area. I SALUTE YOU SIR!! You SAVE lives!!
wow fantastic video---I worked 14 years at a factory that made the bullets that the a-10 shoots this is a great video-thanks to the---A-10--demonstration team.......hope you guys make it up to new england soon ....thanks
You just have to hate aviation, or the military to not appreciate this vid. My old man flew the Hog, and this vid gives me the chills every time. Well done.
What a great Demo fight!!!! Thanks to the Team who gave us a opportunity to see inside and outside of the Demo. Video editing was great as well!!! Makes a difference!!! ROCKING THE SKIES!!!!
Thanks for the great video. This was by far my favorite part of the 2011 Air Show. The Video quality and matched show commentary is the best. I hope the Air Force Demo teams will be able to come back and perform regardless of the defense budget cuts. This is such a powerful display and motivator for recruits for our armed forces.
J'adore "m'envoyer en l'air" c'est merveilleux et les sensation que l'on ressent : être plus léger ou lourd. C'est impressionnant et grisant. Merci de me faire ces moments merveilleux. J'en fait profiter d'autres. Merci. Michel.
haha I remember meeting these guys of the demo team at the Holiday Inn where my buddy had his wedding reception... Great group of guys and a pleasure to talk with. The performance they put on was amazing!!
VolDep45 of course its not. Its almost disturbing that they think they won't need have anymore A-10-only suitable CAS missions. I mean why else would retire the A-10? I have a feeling its probably along the pretext of "in the battlefields of the future, where air defenses are tight the A-10 would not be able to survive and carry on its mission."
I must say, Thank you for this video. Absolutely fantastic to watch, for someone who has always wanted to be in the seat of one of these birds. Sadly, I lost any chance I may have had... but thanks to this, it's possible to see what it would be like. Thank you!
Hey i live in douglas, ga hour away from moody afb. you guys are awsome my hat goes out to you, and the rest of the fighting armed forces "KEEP THEM FLYING AND RAINING DOWN HELL"!!!!!
Great show, I've seen it in Lethbridge AB some years ago. But I've seen these guys work when I was in Bosnia. They say your gun is a soldiers best friend but I love the view of an A-10 doing my fighting. Thanks to all these man and women flying these monsters and saving our *ss.
Great video, thanks. It would be even better for us flightsim geeks if all the cockpit gauges were captured for most of the flight also. No gauges videos of the real A-10C around.
LovesToSponge77... I am pretty sure you are talking about the throttle control that is in his hand. If so well they are the throttles that allow the pilot to determine how fast the turbines spin, additionally like a gas pedal in a car just in this case for a plane. They also have a speed brake slider on the throttle control which allows the plane to slow down without using the flaps or using the throttles.
Both. On most fighter aircraft the speedbrake can't be used at high speeds, but the A-10 is incredibly slow. It actually has some of the most effective speedbrakes out there due to their sheer size. At 13:50 he deploys them (there's two more on the underside of the wing you can't see).
It's because the pilot is using the airbrakes, increasing the roll rate. Also it's due to the fact that they remove any unnecessary weight during these demo flights
@@hansonma9553 Thats untrue, actually. The A-10 uses its spoilers as both air/speed brakes and ailerons naturally. The pilot does nothing out of the ordinary. Also, even with a full ordnance load, the A-10's roll rate is quite impressive. It comes naturally with the straight wing design and location of the spoilers.
Its hard to explain watching this.....I've only ever been in a couple of 737s and you sit in the seat and look out of the little window at the ground at 30,000 plus feet and you may just do the odd turn or climb. You look across the plane out of the window opposite you... But how narrow this is and the clear canopy from elbow to elbow must be something else to be doing this type of flying must be something else.... Love it! A10 is something else!
Great video and really enjoy seeing the pilots skill. However, is there a version of this, or similar video, without music (so you can hear throttle levels) and with a view of the stick / rudder / throttle inputs so you can see how the pilot carries all of this out? Probably classified info but I would love to see what he is doing :D HAWG

Whoever nicknamed this beast the Warthog needs to go to the Ophthalmologist. Its a thing of beauty and awesomeness. Brrrrrrrrrr! And the airplane isnt too shabby either!

Always loved it when these guys flew over my house. During training flights. Great free air show.
NOTHING cooler than an A-10 !!!!!! You guys ROCK !!!!
Thank you Major Thorpe for some fantastic entertainment in one of my all time favourite Planes..A-10.
Don't listen to that madman, you have 1 dislike and it's from him. Excellent video! Thank you for sharing.
You just have to hate aviation, or the military to not appreciate this vid. My old man flew the Hog, and this vid gives me the chills every time. Well done.
The only thing that can replace an A-10 is ANOTHER A-10.
Steve Thompson the truest statement I've ever seen on the internet
Is an A10-c
drones, dude, drones.

Merci Beaucoup à Tous !
Probably the best A-10 video I've ever seen.
AMAZING! TOP pilot !
Oooohhh..my God!!
The best video of A-10 Warthog ever !!
Pure adrenaline !!
EXCELENT !
How awesome would it be to step outside one day and see this soaring over your neighborhood? Purely amazing.
Great job Major Thorpe and to the rest of the team. Thank-you all for your service to our country.
Excellent footage!! Wish they were all as badass as this.
haha I remember meeting these guys of the demo team at the Holiday Inn where my buddy had his wedding reception... Great group of guys and a pleasure to talk with. The performance they put on was amazing!!
great video with airshow commentary included.
Hope they never retire the a-10
VolDep45 I feel like the F-35 doesn't necessarily replace the A-10. Maybe they thought they don't need the A-10 anymore.
Which is a weird thought.
VolDep45
of course its not.
VolDep45 That's called Capitalism. Making money no matter what.
+VolDep45 F-35--tin-can plane 1 bullet or missile --man down!!--- A-10 built like a TANK!!! its that simple!!!
+rear speaker a10 will excel if we go to war with isis
This was one of the BEST video/narrations I've seen on the A-10!
Please more of such videos. Good idea to install two camera in the cockpit. The A-10 itself is really amazing.
Nice job at editing the different views and sound together.
I must say, Thank you for this video. Absolutely fantastic to watch, for someone who has always wanted to be in the seat of one of these birds. Sadly, I lost any chance I may have had... but thanks to this, it's possible to see what it would be like. Thank you!
This man has to be the happiest man on earth. Its his job to fly in such a beast!
Along with all the other military BS you have to do.
beautiful video man!! this is my dream job! thanks for upload
Yes, you are the only one. The A-10 and its pilots are rockstars!
This is the most bad ass aircraft ever built!! I remember watching them run practice sorties while I was hiking through the Adirondacks.
Outstanding video. Thanks for posting.
Ive never been to an airshow, i quite enjoyed what he did with the video.
Awesome! I met Habu in Cleveland in 2011, great guy! Excellent flying, outstanding video!
Really good quality video for 9 years ago, dang.
Outstanding...... Almost as good as the Red Arrows, Uk formation team.... Loved the the cockpit footage. Brilliant. Greetings from Ireland/UK
Those aren't close combat vectors.
It's lovely to hear the radio in the backround
Hey i live in douglas, ga hour away from moody afb. you guys are awsome my hat goes out to you, and the rest of the fighting armed forces "KEEP THEM FLYING AND RAINING DOWN HELL"!!!!!
I don’t care this is a beast and the music choice from the ground is awesome perfect for our hog
Great show, I've seen it in Lethbridge AB some years ago. But I've seen these guys work when I was in Bosnia. They say your gun is a soldiers best friend but I love the view of an A-10 doing my fighting. Thanks to all these man and women flying these monsters and saving our *ss.
Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing it.
I will consider it! it looks like fun thanks man!
Nice video, guys! really enjoyed it.
Really imaginative musical selection.
Excellent video. Best regards from JTAC's :)
Great video, thanks for posting.
They do sometimes...but you have to go to an airbase that has a range on it with observation areas...and those exist in the desert.
love the sound!
Is that a little white GoPro Hero HD at his right shoulder? Haha! Epic!
Best airframe ever. God I love the A-10.
Awesome video man.
Wooow what a demo!! Awesome footage!
They did that at Raf Leuchars air show when the tornado gr4 did a bombing run and they had genuine explosions, pretty cool :3
Loved watching these planes do their work in the 'Stan.
That looks like so much fun!
saw some yesterday when i was in the field training doing gun runs awesome
Great video... I'm going to miss these demos! Too bad 2011 was the final year for airforce demos.
BTW, the field of vision from the cockpit is amazing.
that was a great video!!
That's awesome... Great video
I love the A-10 demo!!! this is so sick!
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
Great video, thanks. It would be even better for us flightsim geeks if all the cockpit gauges were captured for most of the flight also. No gauges videos of the real A-10C around.

I saw this aviation in Teminator 4 and so I like it.
13:50 Thank you, crew chiefs, maintenance, flight support, Ammo, all of y'all.

That pilot and aircraft are sooooo BADASS!
Great video.
Thank you Major Thorpe
best cockpit view ive ever seen
I saw an original P-47 Thunderbolt back there around 16:50
I don't know if this is standard procedure or what, but this guy just seems DAMN good at this.
Wow, the roll rate is a lot higher than I expected.
It's because the pilot is using the airbrakes, increasing the roll rate. Also it's due to the fact that they remove any unnecessary weight during these demo flights

music at 5:27?
sounds awesome

love those gopros
For once, excellent choice of tunes :)

when the driver uses the GAU-8 to shoot does he aim with his helmet thing or from the plane ?? if u get what i mean
Love it!! Great footage.
Great flying 👍

Nice. I've seen this at local airshow
I love seeing the GCAS break warning at 6:07. So many G's, not enough brrrt
I'm quite impressed with the landing. He landed it like it was a feather
So, why was the showline not infront of the crowd during some of the passes?
Just want to Update yall On HABU. He just recently had his FINI flight and has retired!
this plane is a beauty
